Jeroboam: A Kingdom Divided | Kings to Captivity | Episode 2 | Lineage

Following the death of Solomon, his son Rehoboam took the reign. Unfortunately, this would prove the beginning of the end of Israel being one united nation. The Kingdom of Israel would split into two: the ten northern tribes and the 2 southern ones. The reasons for the spilt and the sorry decline is a sad history of bad decisions and rebellion that ought not have happened.
