When comparing the two designs for similarities, the ONLY similarity is how the engine bends downward, and even then the F-35B’s engine can swivel even more to turn left and right while in hover, the YaK’s cannot. This myth is so annoying. The Yak merely served as a proof of concept for the successful application of the rear downward bending engine, but that doesn’t make or break the F-35B’s design at all.
