I think one of the most underrated parts of the whole piece (and throughout the Tenet soundtrack in general) is how he uses those triplet rhythms in the synths against the deep guitar drones and heavy drums to build tension...the way the synths enter at 1:04 makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time. Magnificently unsettling.
"That test you passed...not everybody does. Welcome to the Afterlife." and then 2:50 kicks in...that rhythmic drum/drone is something else! LOVE IT!
Ludwig: how many musical instruments you need for this?
Nolan: Yes
Ha!
Ha!
There are actually not than many instruments here. Probably less than a dozen. Synths, percussions, a few violins probably, maybe a horn or too (but I don't think so) and that's it. It's pretty minimalistic in terms of orchestra.
@@sebastiengerber146 thanks for enlightening buddy, I am just a layman when it comes to music. It just that there is so much of variety in the score that it felt there are many instruments used for this.

Petition for Nolan to rerelease the movie on IMAX when the pandemic is over
Don't do that.... Don't give me a hope...
It will probably get re-released eventually. All of Nolan’s big movies like Inception, interstellar and Dark Knight were re-released eventually
@@doge8825 I don't think so with this one, because Warner Bros is the one who handle the distribution and they have decided that this movie will be aired on streaming platform this year which Nolan's upset and criticised the decision. If Warner Bros takes Nolan's comment seriously, then I think there will be no Tenet's re-release in IMAX.
@@doge8825 oh man imma enjoy all the bass in IMAX theatre
@@akramdinulakbar9924 yeah but these are different situations. I doubt given how much praise the theatrical version got they won’t at least *strongly consider it* at some point
Just when I thought Zimmer isnt replaceable...
Ludiwg has knocked it out of the park
Fun Fact: Hans actually recommended him to Nolan.
honestly i much preferred ludwic
This track is amazing, but the score as a whole was further proof that Zimmer is in fact irreplaceable. I hope he reunites with Nolan.
@@TheRockinBK have you heard any of Hans old scores from the lates 80s, 90s and early to mid 00s? I think those are superior scores to what he made for dune. Just my opinion. I love Hans.

Me too. That part jacks me up.

Tenet is one of the weird movies where you come out of the theater as clueless to what the movie's about as before you went in
The second time I watched it I actually understood it less. And it's not an 'inverted' joke
I watched this movie so many times and still don’t understand it
@@rodrigodias4328 Yes I was the same way. Halfway through the second time I had to turn it off because I was running out of brain energy
You came out as clueless as you went in because you were inverted midway through
tenet is one of those movies where you see yourself walking out of the theater backwards as you walk in
Oblique reference to Travis Scott’s ending track ‘The Plan’ begins at 1:34. Ludwig and Chris mention this during their interviews about that soundtrack that they went back to the beginning after Travis had finished his piece and added some of his sounds earlier to ensure a link to the end, kind of subliminally introducing us to that song.

i listened to this peice every day or 6 months and havent gotten tired of it. I dont usually have a favorite song but this takes the cake.
The opening of this movie is one of my favourite ever cinema moments. The sound and cinematography is next level.

Thanks Ludwig, the part from 6:02 to 6:28 is the greatest sounding part of a soundtrack I've ever hear in a VERY long time! Just chills...
Simply breathtakingly blood pumping experience
Such a gentle usage of polyrhythms and atonality. Ludwig is definitely gonna do much more of great pieces that I'm looking forward to.

The beginning of the stair climb sequence at 2:49 builds up quite nicely like a Hitchcock suspense scene - a mild beginning to lull the audience and then a sudden ramp up - it beautifully follows the action on the screen.

If you closely listen, this music has lots of elements in reverse, which is basically the theme of the movie. Just Brilliant.
It's truly a privilege to see it in an IMAX theatre . It's like my childhood fantasy of being a spy come to life.
Best songs from TENET:
1- Rainy Night in Tallinn
2- Posterity
3- Foils

5- The Algorithm
6- Freeport

Severely underrated movie with severely underrated music. Corona really messed up our perception at that time.
Hands down one of the best openings I've ever seen.
I can understand the rotten tomatoes score being lower than other masterpieces of films, but lower than Cuties? This movie is very underrated in my opinion. This is one of the most original films I have ever seen
Don’t trust critics ever , watch it for yourself. This was one of the best scenes , it gave me heavy spec ops operator vibes that would make any active duty member proud
