I like that saying of swami vivekananda, that there is a power in this universe which thinks itself as feminine and mother of the universe....its so real for me...when i am really in conflict n scared,..i cry out to her for help...and she as mother not always immediately answers,.if she knows i can do it myself she ignores,,😊😊
Thus she helped me grow strong n surrender more.

This one included many ah~has, including the new description of counting the 10th person. Swami's suggestion of connecting to mother really touched me. In terms of methods, there is always immersion in nature, especially water. It doesn't have to be anthropomorphic. There is so much mother in nature.

Hari Om Swamiji .. I have two comments. You mentioned Pujya Swami Sri Dayananda Saraswathi as a great teacher of Vedanta and I agree. He never said all religions are the same and we know they are different from their teachings. If they were the same, why would the Abrahamic religions seek market share via conversions, forced or otherwise and treat others as pagans and infidels? My second point is that Atma is not Soul and we see our learned Swamijis liberal in loosely using this word Soul.

    • @danielcanela
      @danielcanela 2 месяца назад

To your first point: if you look at the differences between religions you will find them in their dogmas and rituals no doubt, but those - quoting Swami Vivekananda - are only secondary details.
To your second point: the understanding of the Atman differs even between Indian traditions, using "soul" to refer to it is not a problem in itself, if one is intrested he or she will get to an understanding of what it means in their particular tradition.
Quoting Swami Dayanandaji is a sign of respect from the speaker, it shows reverence to a great monk. But does not mean their interpretation is exactly the same.

    • @cheenusrinivasan2697
      @cheenusrinivasan2697 2 месяца назад

@@danielcanela Should those affected stand idly while those with their dominant ‘secondary’ details destroy the one holding on to a higher primary plane?
One cannot teach Vedanta to a scorpion and ask it not to sting appealing to it as being integral to that One consciousness!
Some will not rise beyond their secondary nature and hence the conversion, destruction. rape and pillage of those aspiring for a higher purpose.

As regards the question of Dharma and ' acceptance-realization ' riddle, one has to remember another important factor in the complex equation " Life "- Karma: the law of cause n effect. Remember, Brahma has only one temple in spite of being Creator, due to a curse for sly behavior. One has to take account of one's entire life - each word, each deed, each thought that would have prevented God-realization and being left out in this Sansara 😮‍💨

When it is a question of either/or, or and/both; it is always and/both because Reality is both. We live in a dual system and we ourselves are dual. Unity encompasses both dualities. Reality is not either/or it is Both. Without duality nothing would be manifest as there would be Unity only.

Then you must accept that the dreams you see when you are asleep are as real as the "reality" you wake up to. If you don't (and you practically don't, because if a person hits you in a dream you don't wake up and hit them back)... then you must accept that there are levels of reality. That something can be more real or less real. Simple as that. Brahman is more real than reality.

Thanks a lot Swami! In order to realize God-Brahman in our life, we have to die in a world-maya, because we cann't be born and live in eternity without dying in temporary and transient (illusory) life. Jesus said: "No one is able to serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and he will love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon". It seems to me it is the main principal and rule for every spiritual practice.

Wonderful presentation...i have a question about the part on God's existence...
You seem to suggest the matter is self evident and the logic runs something like this...
    God is the self.
    The self exists.
    Therefore, God exists.
Why do you assume that God is the self? For instance...I perceive myself to be contingent, not necessary, strictly speaking. My existence, being contingent, depends on many factors. But God, if He exists, is necessary being: dependent on nothing else, unable to not exist, relying on nothing else for His existence or to explain his existence.
Not so with the self it seems. How do you reconcile this? How do you reconcile the apparent contingency of the self with the necessity of God's existence?
Perhaps closely connected with this is the question of the eternity of the soul/consciousness. Why do you assume your self is eternal? How do you know that? And even if it were, being contingent, how is it necessary being, like God?

    Namaskar.
I also have a question and sent it on AskSwami mail. I am posting my question here as well. Thank you.
    QUESTION-
Brahman can be realized through negation, similar to the Buddhist concept of Shunyata or void. However, Brahman is described as Existence Consciousness Bliss, contrasting with the notion of nothingness in Buddhism.
But can this nature of Brahman, embodying Existence Consciousness Bliss, could be considered Maya, since it gives rise to the appearance of the unreal.
Hence, Can we say that Brahman is actually void, with Existence Consciousness Bliss being the Maya aspect because we say Maya is in Brahman without any start.
Thus, Can Brahman encompass both Void/Nothingness/Emptiness which is the True Reality reached from negation of everything and Existence Consciousness Bliss being the Maya aspect?
I would be very grateful for some insights on this question.
    Thank you.

      (Illustration of both views)
      The atman cannot be seen,
      As the Buddha says nothing,
      The atman cannot be seen,
      As Vedanta says no object,
      The Seer is the wholeness,
      This liberation within.
Of no image is existence itself,
This design is that within "the self",
      This is the essence,
As the Buddha is nothing but enlightenment,
As the Vedantant is the Seer of no things but pure consciousness.

Being and Void are first of all words. Words are meant to separate reality in the form "this is such", "that is different". In non-duality you can say that the Ultimate encompasses both, but "encompass" is a word that assumes plurality is as real as unity.

    • @Михаил-д6х1з

When Buddha referred to something as Void, he was referring to Brahman only, because he was saying there is something like nothing meaning there exists something but it cannot be described since it's not an object so he called it Shunya. So existence of something that cannot be described what it actually is, is called as Shunya by Buddha but that is same as Brahman in my opinion.

Advaitha (nondual and conscious Athma = Shiva) is INCOMPLETE without Dvaitha (duality capable Shakhti in the conscious field of Shiva) and vice versa. it is just like saying Shiva and Shakhti cannot exist without each other. Without Shiva, there is no Shakhti and without Shakthi there is no Shiva. It is the reason why it is "nondual". They always exist together for the perpetual duality cycles of nature to happen.
Sankhya (mentioned by Sri Krishna in the 6000 yr old Bhagavad Gita) simply combines Advaitha and Dvaitha. So, all these "darshanas" are parts of the whole. Sankhya says without the observer (shiva), nothing can be observed (shakthi) in its current form or no duality cycles of nature can happen. Sankhya can be validated by logic, double slit quantum experiment and embodied experience. Lot of distortions crept in during colonailism through different interpretations of these metaphysics which led to contradictions
Modern interpreters of Advaitha wrongly interpret "Maya" as the "illusion" through which Brahman falsely appears as the universe. Truth is Maya is just another name for Prakrithi and it is absolutely real. So is our material realm. In the same way, Mithya does not mean false. It means temporary or relative exisence. eg Tasks in your office may be temporary but not false. You have to finish them.
