Yes it can be used in emergency gadget like solar flashlight, solar power bank, etc
if multiple capacitors are connected together but it will not give as much backup as a battery
Try out the supercap
@@Sa1Jho"supercap" doesn't make sense
supercapacitor
@@SonGoku_9000 but will it give as much backup as a battery?
@Ayanha723 no but yes it can give more backup than a dry battery with load
Forgive me, this is not 100% correct
Capacitores lose their charges and energy fast oppsite to battery which discharge energy when loaded.

Great for starting large electric motors
Auto Shop In 70's, We Would Charge(Connect To 12 Volts) then Throw To a Friend😮, Would Give A Quick Jolt, No Harm, A Quick Scare. It's What Kids Do. A Capacitor on It Own, Charges Quickly, Then Slowly Discharges Slowly, Discharges Faster, Higher The Load.
In Automotive, They Are Called Condencers?
Are Used With Points On Older Cars, When Points Open, Capacitor Discharges Quickly Through Coil, Creating Thousands Of Volts.
Great For Reducing Noise With Inductors
also the capacitor can run a tiny LCD clock longer
Super capacitor a hold a large amount of energy and can change quickly
What's a Capacidor
Capacitor block Direct current

@ottakkannan_malabari No - Capacity-Dor
well they can store just as much energy, even more than a battery, problem is it blasts its all out all at once haha
like me when I was a younger man
Then, wouldn't a paired inductor and smps or some other voltage manipulator be able to control the discharge and have a larger energy/power density battery?
@yasirrakhurrafat1142 sure but a battery is still better in general for that purpose, you are overcomplicated something that wasn't ment to do that. Not saying it can't be done
@@WanTan8888 but if a simple inductor and transistor paired with a capacitor.. provides better energy/power density.. then why not switch to caps?
@yasirrakhurrafat1142 not for long though and capacitors still dain on their own. It all depends for what, like I said you could get capacitors to work instead of batteries in alot of applications but it won't be any better than a battery. And batteries are way cheaper
I am using 12v capacitor in my bike from almost 2 years. 😅
For what?
@ottakkannan_malabari in place of battery 🔋

Unless you Use a Super Capacitor then
Be careful with large ones they can kill or really hurt you if you're scrapping or experimenting with them like an ac unit watch out
while this is true, you could have also pointed out that they can be easily discharged with anything conductive like a screwdriver for example.
under certain circumstances they can hold potentially deadly voltage for days or even a week after the device has been unplugged.
so the first thing to do on AC components like a power supply is to discharge the main caps and you're most likely safe to work on it.
If unsure, measure the caps voltage. can be quite funny to see 300 volts (europe) when the device has been unplugged for quite a while.
also, never fuck around with old CRT's if you don't know what you're doing. the cathode tube can be charged with several kilovolts even on a device that's been unplugged for years as they charge up from magnetic fields around.
always disconnect the anode of the tube first and ground it, then you're completely safe to work on it.
stay safe guys :)
Used to be used to mark a given amount of time.
Actually yes I developed a capacitor battery that holds its charge for 10 years but the military canned me.
did you know that that RAM is based on capacitors?
Dynamic RAM yes.
Static RAM isn't
I love Capacitor...😅😅❤❤❤
Yes yes yes. Bring me more similar shorts
What if you use a 100F capacitor? It last long like a baterry?
No, it just fries the LED
@@kostasismename9493 no because the voltage would not be too high and anyway is limitted by resistor. Capacitor would have aproximatley same voltage like led
@@CristinxcxzzX oh okay thanks for claryfying
wait you knew the answer to your own question all along?
😂
Nope, still takes a few seconds at max to fully discharge. Capacitors are different from batteries. Otherwise we would see batteries made of capacitors.
phones MAY run on capacitors, but it would be HEAVY.
Some kid at home charges a capacitor. Touches both ends. It'll be alright, I saw some guy on youtube do it. 😅
Why would a kid have a capacitor
Depeche Mode 🤩
@@andrija82102I do! (NO, I don’t have those ones that can electrocute me, the maximum capacity out of all of mine is like 6.8Millifarads in capacity (1 millifarad = 1K µF
@@ImmanuelChai Me too. Biggest one is 3600 uF and 25v, also I have 2 capacitors for 2100v AC (one is 1.00 uF, and otger one is 0.90 uF)
@@doa_3 where do I buy big capacitor
What is the resistance color code?
That resistor is I think 1k ohm
If you leave those two power wires on the capacitor, will it blow up?
No, unless the voltage was exceeded
No,i wouldn't. once the the capacitor is completely charged, it acts as open circuit. So, no current flows through it.
What r u using to charge it
May be a AC source
Why LED need resistor 🤔, which value needed 🤔
It's for the safety of LED which can be fused by high voltage , but if the voltage is appropriate then it doesn't matter it will just dim the LED
Current Limiting Resistor
so the LED doesn't blow up
A capacitor basically acts like a water tower they maintain steady current flow
And why did you put a resistance?
Led requires low voltage, but the capacitor used here has 25 volts. Hence resistor is used to reduce the capacitor voltage.
Is it possible to make a mega huge capacitor??
Store voltage
Super capacitors gonna replace batteries soon
And no one can create inbuild regulators?
Ok, now I know. And then?
Wait, where's the short?
Yes
resister ohms? i can see 75v,1000uf cap bit cant see bands on resistator too lazy to do the math
Yes
❤😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
You could use capacitors for starting a car in sted of battery!
A cap stores power but is absolutely nothing like a battery 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Nice
Good
Iphone use capacitor 😂😂
It can help a battery
Ok given the way these things usually go I was all ready for something stupid... but it's all legit. It isn't the whole story -- but it's a short, not an EE course.
So cool
So you’re not using a capacitor as a battery… you’re using a capacitor as a capacitor. Stop posting these false information
