    Capacitores lose their charges and energy fast oppsite to battery which discharge energy when loaded.

    Auto Shop In 70's, We Would Charge(Connect To 12 Volts) then Throw To a Friend😮, Would Give A Quick Jolt, No Harm, A Quick Scare. It's What Kids Do. A Capacitor on It Own, Charges Quickly, Then Slowly Discharges Slowly, Discharges Faster, Higher The Load.
    In Automotive, They Are Called Condencers?
    Are Used With Points On Older Cars, When Points Open, Capacitor Discharges Quickly Through Coil, Creating Thousands Of Volts.

    Be careful with large ones they can kill or really hurt you if you're scrapping or experimenting with them like an ac unit watch out

    • @Jenkem254
      @Jenkem254 Месяц назад

      while this is true, you could have also pointed out that they can be easily discharged with anything conductive like a screwdriver for example.
      under certain circumstances they can hold potentially deadly voltage for days or even a week after the device has been unplugged.
      so the first thing to do on AC components like a power supply is to discharge the main caps and you're most likely safe to work on it.
      If unsure, measure the caps voltage. can be quite funny to see 300 volts (europe) when the device has been unplugged for quite a while.
      also, never fuck around with old CRT's if you don't know what you're doing. the cathode tube can be charged with several kilovolts even on a device that's been unplugged for years as they charge up from magnetic fields around.
      always disconnect the anode of the tube first and ground it, then you're completely safe to work on it.
      stay safe guys :)
