This Maasai is called Ole Laiza and he found those two huge Tanzanites in one of his Mines in Arusha. The government compensated him 2Billion Tsh. I don't remember the exact weight of the stones but this was barely 2-3 yrs ago

Hi Mkuru one of your biggest fan in Tanzania, the story id a banger just to clarify on the picture of the Maasai man holding the Tanzanite rough stones is Saniniu Laizer and its more recent it was 2020 his mine had the biggest Tanzanite stones i bet ever recorded. But yes there are many pictures of maasai's holding the stones since the area where its mined is more of a maasai inhabited area.
