I've always lived in Maine. Recently moved to the interior. It's so strange. It's so strange living without the Atlantic, or lawns, or forests, or rain. I want to live everywhere now. Idaho, Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Florida. I want it all! Gah!
@@wynotwyoming6659 perhaps. I'm planning on going on vacation to Cheyenne sometime between April and May. I'm about to retire from my current career and looking for jobs in the area although I have been looking lately at remote jobs which mean that I could work anywhere as long as I have internet access. When I went on vacation last year, I went all the way out to Idaho, Falls to see Atomic City and Craters of the Moon NP. My daughter and I spent several days visiting Yellowstone NP along with several other parks in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Idaho. I really liked that entire region. Everything was so beautiful, but it was summertime. I noticed that while the Idaho desert was very hot and dry; in most of Wyoming and Nebraska the weather was much cooler. I don't really like the cold much, but it might be ok if my boyfriend ends up liking the area. I have lived in a few very cold places and have family in Maine. He likes the cold, but he is living in Florida. The only somewhat concerning part would be if I end up taking a remote job where I can work from home, a large portion of Wyoming did not have cell service, but I would imagine that I would be able to figure something out as long as there aren't any airspace laws in those areas preventing me from being able to set up a satellite or something similar. Maybe you know something along those lines as it might be something that people ask when planning on moving to more rural parts of Wyoming.
Been going out to Wyoming for hunting trips since the early 90s. The people are friendly and the living is easy. Never thought about it as a permanent residence. May have to take a closer look.
I hope that my channel gives you some great ideas of where to go and what to see. Stay tuned for more episodes between now and May. And of course, let me know if I can help finance your transition.
There are rarely tornadoes according to the university of Wyoming. Only 6 per year for the entire state. As far as affordability goes it is all relative to the income in the area and different cities will have different average prices. Currently the median home price in Cheyenne is $311,300 while it is only $265,400 in Laramie. I hope that helps! Keep watching for more info.
That’s is definitely a consideration. I might recommend that you reach out to the Greater Cheyenne Chamber Of Commerce and talk with someone. They may have some insight as to who may be hiring within your career path.
Yes, but you need to know that it is semi-arid and the growing season is short. Animals do well and so does prairie grasses and hay or straw. But for other gardening you may want to have some greenhouse space. Solar and wind energy is very possible as well. Hope that helps!
That’s what my kids say too! 😂 I get it! And it’s not for everyone. That being said you might be surprised by the growth among young people and the change the city is undergoing with regards to technology and other attractions for people that want a more “modern” for lack of a better word, lifestyle.
@@jimjohnson6944 definitely you can get to Curt Gowdy Park and several lakes within 20-30 minutes of Cheyenne. Laramie is a short drive too. And then the Snowy Range is just to the north of Laramie and also up near Casper there are some really pretty areas as well.
I think you may be talking about the other “Windy City”. 😂 they definitely have a lot of drug addiction in Chicago! I do not believe that there is a larger percentage of drug abuse here than other cities of a similar size.
That's cool about getting the fishing rod from Curt Gowdy!
Haha the highlight of my 9th year of living for sure😊
We currently livee in Phoenix and we are looking at wyoming.
It’ll definitely be a change in population, culture and drive times. I think you might really like it!
I'm looking to move to Wyoming as well buying 2 houses cash I'm looking for 2 houses next to each other with land

You are not my local real estate agent, not yet anyway, I'm in Virginia. I'm trying to decide if I want to move to Cheyenne.
Keep watching this channel. I will be exploring more of the state as well as Cheyenne neighborhoods. I’m sure you will want to be here before long.

Great hunting and great fishing are easy to get to from here, that’s for sure!
Great video Stan!

@@wynotwyoming6659 thank you😃 medical can be close I suppose
Hi Stan, do you know any good property managers?
This sounds amazing! So sad it's a 18 hour flight away
Lol! But the good news is, when you are ready to make the flight you can fly directly into the Cheyenne Regional Airport on United!
Do you think Wyoming is a good state for young folks and young professionals like ages between 21 and 35
Guess not lol
Like to see some cowboy ranchers way of life sometime .
Is Wyoming/Cheyenne good for homesteading?
Yes, but you need to know that it is semi-arid and the growing season is short. Animals do well and so does prairie grasses and hay or straw. But for other gardening you may want to have some greenhouse space. Solar and wind energy is very possible as well. Hope that helps!
@@wynotwyoming6659 Thank you that's definitely helpful
for $350,000 what type of house and property size can i get,and how much would taxes be?
Great
Properties still remain high. Interested, though. Oh wait....the Cheneys are from Wyoming. Never mind.
Unexpected sad note lmao damn
I would be depressed. Not into country music or cowboy style.

I'm scared that it's too flat, cold and windy
Nothing to be too scared of. 😆 you can live nearer to the mountains. It will be colder but not so flat. Lots of options!
@@wynotwyoming6659 haha thanks :) like Laramie type of thing? Or are there mountains near Cheyenne?
@@jimjohnson6944 definitely you can get to Curt Gowdy Park and several lakes within 20-30 minutes of Cheyenne. Laramie is a short drive too. And then the Snowy Range is just to the north of Laramie and also up near Casper there are some really pretty areas as well.
@@wynotwyoming6659 thank you! Your videos are so informative. If I decide on moving to the Cheyenne area I will certainly contact you.
The view at 1:31 is NOT Cheyenne.
Dopers & degenerates
Corrupt business practices.
Since these videos are about Wyoming, you should change the name of them to "WY not."
Lots of drug addicts I hear
