Yes, hair tapers towards the end, but it shouldn't be drastic. I noticed the thinning as well. Finger detangling and staying away from over usgae of combs helped. Your hair is beautiful ❤️ My hair is also very fine like yours. I recently had a blow dry for the first time and the thin ends became more noticeable. Like you I also contemplated a big chop some months back but i decided to trim only 2 inches off instead. Fast forward to 2 months later, my ends looked thin again. I'm convinced that with fine hair, that 'thin ends look' won't go away. I guess it's just a fine hair thing and it doesn't necessarily mean your hair is damaged. If the motive for your trim/chop is healthy ends, then go for it. But I also believe fine hair is never really thick at the ends so a medium / big chop might be unnecessary if those ends aren't really damaged.
