i've picked this up from Pat Mc's videos before, but added to it for when im with my family. we have a code word that when i say it, they put themselves behind me and move when i move. also works if they feel off about someone and they say it to me, i'm putting myself between them and whoever. we've never had to use it or even Pat's technique either, we follow Mr. Miyagi's rule of "best way to avoid punch? No be there" but this is just a battle drill that we've come up with, just in cases.
One thing I learned years ago is that when you are sizing up an opponent you literally can’t. A human is like a computer box. You have no idea what hardware and software are inside. I’ve seen 140 pound guys who break rocks all day in the hot summer sun with a sledge hammer. They are made of steel and lightning fast.
Very good! The 3 meter zone is what you want to maintain if the altercation gets heated. I’ve been around fighters who close that gap dangerously fast.
Yes I stay out of anyone's reach in general public a step back out of range is good. I have that rule in general any where I go even walking through parking lot at store. It give You the upper hand being in that mind state anywhere. Good advice. I respect the one I. This video 100 percent true advice good man. Keep videos coming.
I am reading left of bang on ideing people from the army Hunter program I was almost robbed by the door dash people but I was carrying and luckily I was able to read the situation and diffuse it thanks for the info
Had a guy follow me out of the bathroom in a Walmart yelling “is there something you wanna say to me?” He was on meth and had his hand in his jacket. I’m thinking a knife 🔪. So I reach my hand into my waistband for my imaginary gun and say “I ain’t got nothing to say to you. You got me wrong man.” He walked off and luckily it didn’t go violent.
I generally just ignore and don't give the time of day to anyone acting a fool... I have a certain something about me that discourages people following me for confrontation. Dunno what it is, maybe just my expression, but I try to make it read... "Right now you have definitely have a life, family, and a future...follow me with aggression and all that shit becomes uncertain" I'm 55 years old...boxing, MMA training for 12+ years...I carry several weapons on me at once...I weigh in at a trim, muscular, and lean 142.5 as of this morning. I do just fine.
Is if possible to do an in depth on dealing with stray aggressive dogs? For those of us who live in semi rural areas? With people who let their dogs off leash. Thank you in advance.
I mean there may be some hand to hand trickery to help like kicks, but a good can of pepper spray or smaller can of bear spray, is least damage, along with a steel collapsible baton, then gun or knife after those options if the attack is from a breed capable of serious life altering damage.
Pepper spray where legal, spray in front of the dog, between you and it so it walks into a hint of "ouch" and not a full blast. However, if he is fully attacking you then give it to the face; but sometimes the dog is just stalking you and waiting for you to turn your back before it attacks. Conversely, I've had meek dogs try to get behind me to sniff me because they felt safer there. So never turn your back on an aggressive dog.
Theory,,,SPECULATIONS is all i hear from these guys....its so easy to do something to a weaker person ( then you ), so very easy,,,,but doing shit to a heavier man WITH EXPERIENCE is not easy at all...and a wise man knows when a situation is LIFE THREATENING, and when its just an argument,,,,and usually thats all they are,an argument,,,,,but guys like these teens here see arguments as ,,MY LIFE IS IN DANGER,KILL OR BE KILLED!!,,, in their heads they over do it....and its all because,,,,,they're scared.
Good stuff. My comment would be to be ready with skills because that tactical deception aint gonna work for eveyone. Some are just gonna wanna go to blows regardless. At 5'4, 142lbs., it's a lot easier to put hands up, and say my bad sorry. If you close the distance, it's on and you closed the gap for me.
What are the chances of that? 99.99% of the people in world have not stepped into a ring to compete at an amateur or professional level. 95% of people don't even know how to fight. I do not think anyone should ever concern themselves with this scenario unless they know trained fighters and/or frequent fight gyms.
Most pro fighters will not bother with a street fight unless absolutely necessary. We lose the ego for that kind of stuff pretty early on. Unless you’re doing something dumb and we have people to protect chances are we will walk away and deescalate.
Could be to show that he isn’t planning on a confrontation and willing to move himself to the aggressor’s dominate side is to also show that I am not trying to fight so I don’t mind putting myself in danger because I’m not on the defensive. You are playing mind games which is the whole point of the video, trying to deceive the opponent and get them to do what you want them to do. Could also be moving himself to catch a throw he’s expecting. There was also an old handshake where you grab the forearms basically saying “I’m not a threat, I have nothing up my sleeve”, so moving towards the fighting side might also say the same thing. People also usually jab with the left and the right is more telegraphed, so it might be better to stay away from the jab. Most likely that was just where he decided to step with no thought process.
@ I don’t even need to know who he is. A look at his crazy eyes and seeing he can pull a wife half his age I wouldn’t want to mess with him. Probably buy him a beer.
Remember that bug? It is called blading. You are putting yourself in a position where your dominant hand can punch him and he sees that. You are angling towards his outside, limiting him to one hand so his non-dominant hand has to reach more to be put into play. Worse thing to do is stand toe to toe, what we call square stance, or natural stance. Harder to push or tackle a guy that is bladed compared to square stance.
Think of a baseball pitcher trying to pick a guy off at 1st base. A right handed pitcher’s throwing (punching) arm is already loaded (cocked) and don’t telegraph the move as much as a lefty. The lefty has to load (cock) the throwing (punching) arm while stepping off line while building a base to throw effectively from. Without doing these things, a lefties “flea flicker” toss has no power and will not catch the runner. Now, change all that around for a runner at 3rd base and see where the lefty has the advantage. It’s all relative to which side, dominant or support, of the pitcher that the runner is on.
