Honestly I appreciate the runs that fail. It adds some tension to the run knowing that there is a possibility it won't work out, even if it is a small chance.

Pokémon challenge: gen 1, only krabby, no hm Pokémon. Krabby can learn all three required hms.
This would also double as a true solo Pokémon run, having your total Pokédex number being 1 at the end.
Are there no forced gift Pokémon?
MF nope. All gift Pokémon are optional
I've suggested this several times now. I think it would be cool to have a true one pokemon challenge.

I just wanna see my favorite pokemon youtuber play my favorite pokemon game with my favorite pokemon. Besides, challenge doesn't always denote difficulty, MDB has said this himself.
@@Oh_Lionheart no i get what you say but for people whose favourite pokemon is not absol, this video would be 1) extremely short and 2) not very entertaining, since absol can quite easily sweep the entire game. I'm not saying you shouldnt suggest it, just that the chances of MDB making a video that is clearly not going to be very good, are very slim

I just came off of a 11h stream day, with another one tomorrow, lean back, relax with a new MDB challenge run that was just released - I was so surprised/shocked to see my namesake in there, that's quite unexpected, but I couldn't stop grinning like an idiot ^^;
Thank you for your tremendous work, I'm certain I'm not alone when I say, that your videos are an excellent way to relax. I often let your challenge-playlist run while trying to sleep, while having a bit of insomnia, and it's just so nice, even if I lay in bed for hours on end without sleep

My favorite part of your videos are always, when I can hear your grin or smile, due to something that happens in the game, or just circumstancial (Frankly, losing the footage for the Koga fight was to me the best thing that could happen, it just turned out amazing - your cats are super adorable, and your laugh is infectious ^^)

Here's an interesting run: "Can you beat Pokemon _____ with only not very effective moves?"
So you can only deal damage with moves that are resisted by the target. I think that you should be able to change the starter to something that allows you to do this though (such as getting a bellsprout to face the fire starter)
That would be brutally hard. MDB would think at least twice before doing it

On our way through, I battled Youngster Joey. I knew if I didn’t say what I did you’d all ask. Actually now that I think about it everyone ask anyway. Comments are good for the RUclips algorithm.

Already did this one about a year ago, with only one smeargle. Just took careful planning on what moves to learn and it went pretty well.
Final moveset:
- Sacred Fire
- Thunderbolt
- Karate Chop
- Spore
Item: Leftovers.
Isn't Sacred Fire a Gen IV move, though? Or am I mistaking it with another Fire move?
Edit: ah, it's actually Ho-Oh's signature move prior to Gen IV.
But yeah, interesting moveset. Sacred Fire for Venusaur, Thunderbolt for Charizard and Blastoise, Karate Chop for Snorlax, and Spore to mitigate Espeon's attacks.
@@AgsmaJustAgsma Exactly, Sacred Fire is exclusive to Ho-Oh in gen II. Initially I started the run on gold just because, had no plans on getting sacred fire before Elite 4, but then I saw the chance to do it, went ahead and got it. Thunderbolt it's available pretty early on, in national park against a trainer's Raichu. Spore is bit hard to find but I believe there is a trainer with Paras + spore just before victory road.
The moveset is exactly for the pokemon you ordered like. I had some troubles with snorlax not sleeping many turns + no crits from karate chop + espeon can still 2HKO Smeargle at level 95 with psychic, took about 3 tries until finally everything went in my favor.
I might even do it all over again and this time record it then later edit and release on yt, who knows.

@@lorddthiele92 Pretty good! I still have a belly drum + spore + baton pass + destiny bond Smeargle in my crystal save file.
I did something similar but I used a butterfree to teach a wild smeargle Nightmare, then taught it spore, ice punch, and dream eater. Swept the elite 4 like a champ.
The “Struggle” is real in this challenge. Also can you beat Pokémon Heart gold with smeargle? I kinda want to see an old gen and new gen run together to see the differences between versions to see how easier or harder it could be.
I'd totally watch smeargle in other generations. It's a great display of planning and strategy. I'm certain with a full party and essentially unlimited moves available, you can win any game. But the strategy intrigues me.

I've always loved these sort of challanges that require special planning and playing outside of the norm. Doing a Pokemon X/Y run with only a team if Smergal would be interesting. You can catch them fairly early on (Route 7)

A note about the sponsorship thing, I honestly wouldn't mind you having sponsors, I have been following you on and off for a LONG time and I think you've grown to be quite the interesting content creator. An interesting idea for a challenge would be gen 5 with only deerling. It’s about as strong as a first form starter.
he doesn't do single runs in gen-5.

main problem is that, in gen-5, your experience gains depend on the level difference, so a solo run just takes way too long.
I know about the exp system in gen 5, but I was thinking with the combo of Leech seed, Jump kick, energy ball, and maybe charm as well as not bad stats you could make a fairly good attempt. Even if it’s easy this guy deserves a few easy and fun challenges, the houndour run was his fastest run but he still had fun with it, and I just want this underrated gen 5 Pokémon to get the love it deserves.

As I saw you fighting Red with your team of Smeargles, I started to chant "Go Team Smeargle!" And when Blastoise was taken down, I happily cheered! If you're couldn't have beaten Red, I would have definitely understood. You gave it your all and in the long run that's more important!
I would love to see Pokémon Platinum with only Pachirisu. It's pretty weak because it's a Pika clone, but honestly it's that one Pokémon I love yet can't explain why and I want to see it get some love

I suggest Skyrim with only staves. There is a lot of diversity in what you could do and don't forget about the Wabbajack it’s the Elder Scrolls equivalent of metronome so have fun with that.

I’m doing this run on heartgold right now. One of my smeargles learned transform from a ditto and it’s a game changer. Also - in the earlygame, peck is probably the best first move to learn

I don't think that would be possible to beat Red but you could probably at least get to the elite 4.

there is a move that would have been very interesting for you to have caught, the Curse of some ghastly or haunter, because when a non-ghost type pokemon uses it increases the attack and defense and loses speed, it would be great for several strategies.

Just thought of a good and particularly tough challenge for ya, a full klutz ability team. You’d have to do it in gen 5 unfortunately (3/4 are Gen 5 Pokémon), on top of the lack of battle items. For sure one that could be great to throw some weird strategies around!

Honestly, I think this is my favorite of the challenges thus far. Such interesting strategy and unique movesets, while still challenging. Plus I just like multi pokemon runs. Exceptional work, my friend!

Honestly, I cannot understand how anyone could get mad at the Wobuffet challenge, you slaved the man-hours to get it to LV 100 and put in some serious grinding to see if it can be done and proved it cannot. That's incredible and the different videos you put together different tactics for are to be commended. I love coming on to see what you've managed to pull out next.
As a vets partner, can I say, love the cats, they look fabulous and I know the whole dental thing can be incredibly stressful but it is so good for them to sort their teeth sooner rather than later.

Do Pokémon platinum without evolving a single Pokémon!
Edit: if you insist on making it interesting: no using non-evolving Pokémon like Herecross or Giratina.
You can find some good pokemon early on. Heracross before the second gym is insane.
