I'd say the Predalien is probably the most dangerous creature in their universe due to its adaptability and intelligence. Imagine the devastation one could cause in the real world if it wasn't kept in check

That scene is part of the reason why i don't like AVPR. If the movie had better characters instead of stupid ass pizza boy Shia Labeouf that wants to bone a hot blonde and gets bullied by said hot blondes boyfriend then i wouldn't care. But the fact that the movie has shitty cliche entitled teenage characters that give off a transformers vibe and then tries to make up for it by being as disturbing as possible is what makes this movie shit.

I say the interactions between the predalien and its Xeno siblings would depend on the hives status. For example if a predalien was born on a newly infested world it would feel the urge to add in the procreation to dominate their new habitat, but in a well establish hive with a queen it likely take an identical role to that of a practorial guard.

No matter what people say, i love both AVP and AVPR. They are awesome and introduced me to both universe. Will never forget the young kid that was me being so excited to watch AVP after buying it's VCD.
No way! I watched AVP on VCD too when I was a kid :) It didnt introduce me to both worlds as id seen both predator and alien prior to that, but I loved AVP growing up, and nothing will change that!

I agree, they recive far more hate then they deserve. AVP was also the first movie to introduce me to the Alien and Predator universes as well.
Of course the predator species are a prideful species much like the klingons in star trek. The predators usually hunt alone or hunt in 3s when going to take ouy an alien hive. So id exspect a predalien to take up some if these traits
uxserdvghbjl: Then again, Xenomorphs are a much more hive minded creature. A single one is a threat, but if they have the choice, they don't tend to hunt alone. So perhaps the Predalien is somewhere in between, choosing to hunt apart from the hive, yet still acting in ways most beneficial to them.
It isn't so much as a matter of pride, as it is tradition. Your hints are always alone, just as clan fights will sometimes come down to actual war between all members.

It's not always teams of 3s, in the comic book series "Alien vs Predator: War" there's a team of somewhere around 6 or 7 Predators that go into a hive to extract it's queen.
Of course they hunt within 3 seconds

Predalien was also used in Aliens Versus Predator 1999 PC game (which was awesome at the time btw). This helped cement it within the universe. Praetorians were also another concept used which broadened the concept of alien gestations taking on a small percentage of the host. Both alien strains were extremely powerful. Personally the movies interpretation of them was a let down and I don't consider that cannon.
I think that maybe the reason why the movie and video game Predalien act so different is one of two things. 1) the embryo that infected the Predator in the first AVP film was a Queen embryo so the Xenomorph DNA was dominant.
2) something similar happened to the Predalien like what happened to subject 6 from the 2010 video game. It’s body reacted to the lack of a Queen by becoming one or in the Predalien’s case a pseudo Queen.
AVP:R was like bad fan fiction, but I really liked the design of the predalien praetorian in the film. Her ability to reproduce so quickly before the final moult was really interesting. I wish she could have completed her transformation and we could have seen a fully fledged predqueen on film...perhaps with better writing as well. It felt like AVP was headed straight into SyFy territory.
She would have been unstoppable if it wasnt for Wolf's intervension, on e other hand, Wolf's skill/tactics/plan was a bit disappointing..
I want to see something that covers what happened to the girl that survived at the end of Alien versus Predator did the government descend on her like they did the survivors from requiem
I'll look into it, but Im not sure if her story was continued. From memory, I think there have been other stories in graphic novel form, were humans have become apprentice predators, which is pretty cool !!

There's a line of Predator comics that follows a human woman who befriends a Predator on a hunt, and becomes a member of the hunting party.
It's a pretty good line of books; I was bummed that AVP didn't end with her going with them and suggest that story line.

The most confusing thing about predalien is the fact that by impregnating humans, it produces xenomorphs similar to ordinary xenos as if predalien did not pass any predato genes to its descendants.

The movie version of the Predalien is also an example of the “Xenomorph pure breeds” theory in that all the Xenomorphs produced by this Predalien Queen do not inherit any Yautja traits but instead only take on the traits of the host that births them (in this case humans which produce the normal Xenomorphs we all love and fear)
No doubt the hive tendencies of the movie predalien were due to the queen dna, making the predalien have less predator dna, while a non queen predalien would be more solitary, but would still live and work within the hive, tho it wouldn't help the hive much beyond the Queen's direct orders

I think we can all agree that the xenomorph is just as strong if not stronger than the predators b/c in alien vs predator, the grid alien lifted a full grown and armored predator with it’s tail and did not seem to struggle

Jesus Mario no, i think they are slightly weaker than preds but not by much. Far as their tail goes, i think they just have strong tail muscles since it is their weapon. So it safe to say that their tails & inner jaw are very strong, but they are not stronger than a pred as a whole. The power behind their weapon's, acid for blood, overall strenght almost on par with a pred and intelligence of the xenos is what makes them so dangerous to preds. i know you don't want to admit that the preds are stronger , but remember they don't have to be stronger than a pred to kill one. They have enough strenght & natural weapons on their bodies to beat a pred, if the pred is not careful.

No, Predator is much stronger, those 2 Preds that got killed by Grid are just adolescent young blood, they're weak and inexperienced while grid seems to be an alpha drone, just like a kid trying to fight a dog, Wolf on the other hand can throw Xenos around like rag dolls

I had a thought about this. Alien vs predator was set on earth so the title of the film should really be Alien vs another Alien

but... it being set on earth means nothing. Alien literally means foreign, not from here. Even if the characters are in space, the aliens are still alien to us, as we aren't entirely familiar with these lifeforms.

But in the first Predator film the predator was on Earth yet the movie was still called Predator. There was already a film called Alien anyway.
The predaliens featured in the video game Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction had more of a logic to their existence. They functioned as the heavily-built warrior caste (superseding human-bred Warrior Xenomorphs) due to their increased armor and their digestive bite. When upgraded, they had the ability to molt which made them bigger, stronger and tougher. They strengthen the hive as the Xenomorphs adapt to the increasing threat from Predators and the Predators desire them as trophies because of the challenge they create. There is also a PredAlien Queen featured in the game but that was created via human experimentation and therefore dubbed an “Abomination” by the yautja elders.
I think the Abomination in the video game is more focused around hunting others because the Xenomorph Queen was still alive, so it spent more time actively hunting threats to the Hive rather than passively Hive building.

Thinking about it, if hive based activity is only found in human spawned Xenomorphs (a weaponisation of addoptive tendancies? It would match how our anthropomorphic instincts caused them to attack even non-humans), it is entirely possible that it is both possible and unguaranteed that non-human spawned Xenomorphs would attach themselves to a human spawned hive, possibly with a tendancy for domesticated creature spawned ones to me more likely to do so. Then again, i could just be completely wrong about this; it's sort of the wonderful thing about the setting.
I think the Predalien does both behaviour traits as I think it could be confusion inside its genes trying to figure out it is more Predator or Xeno
I think the AVP: 2010's predalien was a warrior/praetorian due to the fact that before it was born, Six was or has molted into a queen by the events of the predators campaign and a praetorian could benefit six whilst during the molting process.

@@damienmitchell3104 uhhh the Preddy in the 1st film sent a distress signal and Wolf, an elite Warrior, picked that up. No relations or nothing and no Wolf isn't a king although he is highly respected.
In the movie they seem like they are specifically evoled/adapted to combat/survive predators, the ability to impregnate on the run and the huge resilience to plasma caster shots... its quite odd
Mate this is destiny lol Last night, AvP was my late night "get-to-bed" watch after realising I hadn't watched it in flecking years!! And then I wake up to this 😊😊! What surprised me most, was how well the film holds up after 13 years.... The Aliens look far superior to the recent Covenant film and of course my bois the Yautja look and act superbly 💪 PS dude - I think that chest burster scene you have at the start of the video is from AvP and not AvP Requiem 👍

the predalien is my favorite xenomorph type of all and I can't wait till necca makes a figure of her. I've always known about the predator's and I have learned about the aliens in a later time but I've always been fascinated by this hybrid in fact it was the AVP movies that really got me even more interested in the series along with the Xenomorphs. the predalien was such an awesome creature I wouldn't mind seeing her they brought back into the films.

I never knew how tough the PredAlien truly was. I was questioned how that Alien got that Predators ship crash into earth. So many Deadly Predators on board like WTF. I don't care I love AVP movies, just wished that had and will make more. Because they are amazing.

Another possibility is that in the movie the Predalien was turning into a queen to continue the hive and in the games and comics there already was a queen so it acted different.

All I know is, in the alien vs predator game on ps2, predaliens were awesome! They’d not only regenerate health after a fight but each fight made them stronger! Used to have hours of fun running a few of them into a nest to get their asses kicked and get back out before they die to make them stronger until they keep shedding their skin and getting bigger! A big fat group of veteran predaliens absolutely dominated that game!
Hey niyat, have you heard of a game called duskers? I think it would be very intresting to make a video on its story.
Basically you find yourself adrift in the galexy alone and have to find out why everyone is gone. As you go through the game you run into a bunch of odd creatures, as well as find text logs which tell the story of a massive disease outbreak as well as some other fun things.
Unrelated to the alien franchise, but WarHammer40k has a pretty interesting universe as well! Or an explanation of Event Horizon. 🙂

There's one thing about the Predalien that we're all ignoring; if it was supposed to be a Queen, shouldn't it be far larger than a normal one? (I know that it's not fully grown, but what if it was? )
Praetorian Rex Good point but it had only recently hatched so it would've needed more time to reach full size, after all, it was already like 10 foot tall in the film, which is significantly taller than a regular xenomorph

Praetorian Rex I mean, i couldn't say for sure exactly how tall or heavy it'd be, but I'm certain it'd be significantly larger than a regular queen, since even at this juvenile stage it outsized both the Wolf predator and its fellow xenomorphs

While the Predator story line may say it was, In the Alien storyline, it is extremely possible.
And it's also the strongest unit in the game if used with a royal facehugger, and allowed to grow to it's full size.

I actually liked the AVP franchise despite it wasn't the most popular franchise in sci-fi history i still love it and the alien and predator films.

Why does AVP Requiem get such a bad rep? I was a kid when I saw it and liked it so maybe my memory deceives me but I remember I really the whole plot of the Predator leader who has lost warriors to the Predalien tracking and hunting down the abomination and all of its Xenomorph minions.
Tim Peters mostly because, while it may be a good Alien vs Predator movie imo, its human characters and their motives are forgettable, pretty bad acting, and most of all the setting is lack luster. I get they were trying to do something more relatable with the tiny town, but the movie would have been way better in a jungle, large city, or space.

Requiem was a pretty good movie but many people hate it because they hate the AVP series in general. Some die-hard fans of the original Alien/Aliens simply don't want Predator to be associated because they see Pred as an "inferior" franchise.
I loved AVP 1. It would have been 10x better if it was R rated though... That is it's only flaw... AVPR however is bad because the characters are so godawful.

I think there is a reason why the predalien in AVPR was breeding xeno while the one in AVP 2010 wasn't. I think it had something to do with the type of alien that was growing inside the predators.
There are two known types of facehuggers, there are the normal ones that will host for normal aliens then there are royal facehuggers that will host for queen aliens.
My guessing is that Scar was unknowable carrying a queen alien chestbuster, the thing is that host that have been impregnated with a queen chestbuster tend to take longer before they buster out of their host than a normal chestbuster, they come out mostly after the host wakes up or a little bit after.
This could be the reason why the predalien in AVPR was acting like a queen while the other wasn't

The original alien(1979) looked like it was giong to hybernate and go into metamorphosis and moult into a queen before it got flushed out of e airlock; it showed zero signs of being able to give birth like a human, nor did it have human hair..

I think all xeno embryos are pure until they take on DNA from their hosts, and ignore whatever host the queen hatched from. Which makes sense in terms of survivability; the whole reason for the DNA absorption is so the chestburster can survive in whatever environment it finds itself in

What if we skipped e face hugger and go straight to larval xenomorph which crawls into a host's mouth, consumes and grows to burst/rip out of its host's skin/shell as an adult like the bug from MIB.. or e queen impales her hosts with her ovipositor(like wasps) Or what comes out of e egg seeps into e host's body and skeleton causing e skeleton mutate into a separate living entity/organism(bio-mech form) which eventually shakes off e rotting flesh, skin, hair(like The Fly) or like 'Mimic' where its descendants takes e basic shape and traits of what its ancestors frequently ate..
Would having one less life stage decrease a xeno's ability to multiply efficiently or lessen its horror factor?
I prefer the reqreaum version because it’s a good blend of the fleshy appearance of a predator and and the biomechanical look of the xenomorph

I have seen the ghoulish fiend that is the Pred-Sausage; which is the nightmarish cross between a full adult Predator and a sausage.
I remember watching this as a kid and honestly I was unbothered by everything but that scene at the hospital when the predalien latched on to the pregnant lady my stomach turned and I had nightmares from it lol so freaking disturbing

I think the main reasons as to why the predalien from requiem acted differently from the abomination are because there was already a queen present in AVP 2010 and there were older xenomorphs like 6 while there wasn’t a queen present (aside from the predalien) in requiem and it was the oldest xenomorph present during that outbreak
My question is how deep was e sea water just few meters off from e Antarctic whaling station's coast to have enough pressure to crush e queen in e first AVP movie?;
i don't see how it couldn't hold its breath long enough to use its super sharp and strong teeth and claws to break itself free from 100+(probably 10,000) year old oxidized/corroded steel chains that have been exposed to salty air and subzero temperatures(and extreme temperature and pressure changes) for that long a time and swim to e surface only to be recaptured by e rescuing predator clan members, re-restrained, brought into e ship to be placed on another planet..

Why didn't Scar catch e facehugger in mid air before it impregnated him/her?
Why did Scar remove e bomb from his/her arm? I thought predators arent supposed to remove them and are supposed to "go down with their ship"..
How silly could e predators be to not have scanners/sensors and quarantine and disease control before bringing Scar's corpse back onboard their ship? And no alarm systems onboard to notify them there's a xenomorph loose?
And with all their technology and experience could not restrain, neutralise, immobilise e predalien on their ship?

muhamed ali this was scar’s first real hunt so it’s not surprising that he was caught off guard (he still did better than the other two though). He likely used the bomb to way he did because of how many xenomorphs there were at that point and he had to ensure that they didn’t reach the surface. I don’t see the queen getting out any time soon since she was injured and the water was cold and deep. The predators actually do “go down with the ship” when they are on solo hunts where they are defeated (like in predator), scar was just in an extenuating circumstance since he was just a freshly blooded predator dealing with a large number of xenomorphs on the loose. I feel that scar made the right decision given what was going on
Ancient adolescent human "to be" warriors were pitted against a wolf/lion/jaguar armed with only a spear or dagger and expected to kill it to be accepted by e tribe/clan.. They should just have stuck with e novels..

I'd say the genetics piece of the abomination and the film predalien is behavioral, since if you look at the designs the film looks closer to the predators while the abomination looks closer to a xenomorph.

My question is this. How can a chest burster do it's thing after it's host has already died? Ther have been several cases of the victims being told or telling others if they die ,it dies too. Ripley most notably.

I think the reason why the predalien in the film prefers to build a hive, Is because it was confirmed to be a young queen, but I think the one in the video game was a warrior predalien, but idk

I do understand the hate on avp requiem but I personally love the movie I remember watching it as a kid on TV and it was mind blowing
the predalien is not 11 feet, its at least 8, maybe 9 feet, it sure didn't look 11 feet tall in the movie
The aliens always walk on two legs with a hunch because of the spines and quadrapedal nature. When we see aliens stand fully for head bites they're generally massively tall. We never really see the Predalien stand up fully in the movie.
predators ususally stand around over 7 feet, and when close to humans you can tell there not a hell of a lot taller, his fight with the predalien, wolf's forehead was just under the predalien's chin, so they definitely aren't any taller the 8 feet at the least
Through my eyes I have decided that the predailiens have a diffrent genetic code, in ants when they are born as a elate (a soon to be queen) they are treated as the colony that they grew up in, however when they fly away for mating season and if the two coloneys are seen again they are treated as enimies to the colony so when the predailien queen didn't contact it's half blood family I assume it would be the same. So through the mind of the Preditor they thought it threw and decided it would be better to grow the colony first. How ever if there was any contact with them it would not be friendly as seen in ants and other aliens, spread and destroy anything in its way.
