    when i went to Ghana i saw people in the market playing this. Each region had slightly different rules that you could learn. The market players were super fast, they had a technique where they throw 4 or 5 seeds at once and they all land in the right pits.
    The village kids will also dig pits in the ground to play this amongst themselves.

    A bit different than the rules I got in my "Mancala" game. The rules I got involved seeding your "mancala" pits which score for you. In this game, no Mancala pits. And captures work very different in this game, where it looks like you capture when you seed last pit to a certain number, I think 2 or 3.

      Mancala is a family of games. Oware is one of many. The version mass produced in the US is a version called Kalah.
