Also the vast amount of people that visit the battlefield are of one race. It's unfortunate because there is history here for everyone to learn from.
I was at Gettysburg in 2022 and noticed a large group of high school students standing on the steps of the Pennsylvania Monument. It absolutely awful that the museum is closing. An important collection displaying our history and our regional history closing because too many Yankees and liberal Californians are uncomfortable with displays of Confederate memorabilia and any expression of Southern pride. So Horrifically Sad of a Waste
Why are European countries able to keep their museums open and thriving, and we are not? The closing of this museum is not only sad, it is a tragedy. The city of Fortworth should step up and buy it to keep it going. I am sorry I did not know about it and didn't get the opportunity to visit. Thank you for the video.
Because the US is woke and vote Democrat and allow them to erase history without a fight.
As someone who can't travel I'm glad there is a video tour. I hope there can be a video tour of all items before sold.
I’ve been and it’s AWESOME! Legit one of the best museums I’ve ever been too… probably spent 6+ hours there and could’ve spent longer!
Thank you for the program . So sad of its closing .
This is a shame, the park service should step in,,(to all buffs stand up for this),,,😢
I pray for the good people and the treasures preserved in this museum. May they be preserved for future generations to learn from.
How can this be happening? This is our history. This breaks my heart. I’ve only been to this museum one time, I need to try to get over there before it closes. I’m so sad
We just visited a couple years ago!!! This is an amazing place. School groups should be visiting!! Thank you for your honoring place!!!!
Our homeschool did.
I live in Dallas and didn't even know about this museum. I hope it can be saved and kept intact. I'm going to try to visit in the next few weeks. We can send hundreds of billions of dollars overseas but can't save one little museum? This nation is in a sorry state.
We made a mad dash up last weekend and it was worth the effort! Impressive! So sad it's closing.
Why wouldn't the Smithsonian Museum purchase these artfacts for us to preserve forever!!!
I expect they might have an interest in half of them, but not so much the other half. I guess they could melt it down and recast it like they did General Lee. Sad that they want to completely destroy sections of history.
Sad😢. I'm Anglo Hispanic with 6 family members who served. 4 Texas cav. 1 New Mexico inf. 1 Missouri.
I visited it several years ago and it was a great place to visit and we enjoyed ourselves very much. I would hope the State would help preserve this museum.
Wow I’m thankful for you sharing this with us as well as the family pouring so much love and money into preserving history. I hope their artifacts can get them some money and whoever keeps them does the same. 🙏🏻💗🇺🇸Sounds like they needed more space for the treasures too.
Museums need to be preserved and given a chance to save history! So sad. I bet plenty of folks would be interested in these items. Check into The Gettysburg Museum of History, and The American Battlefield Trust! They’d be interested.
Yea... Very interested until they see how much it costs to operate something like this.
@@dontblameme6328I am sure they’re well aware of how much it costs.
Sad that we’re about to lose such a museum, I never even knew it existed until now. Have they ever thought of contacting other large museums like the Museum of Natural Science in Houston for grants and assistance?
Houston...is that a joke? They did what Dallas did to their CSA statues. With all the leftards and transplants, I would be worried about the museum relics being taken care of.
I have visited multiple times. It is a shame more folks didn't take the time.
I hope these items end up in another museum.
Looks like the UDC would be interested in acquiring this museum. Many treasures will go into storage and be lost. I hope to get to see it before it closes.
I will always miss it
What a magnificent collection, so carefully collected and maintained! I pray to God that somehow it will survive and re-open in the future. Thank you so much for this labor of love, and let us never forget the sacrifice of these brave men and women who gave so much. God bless you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Lord have mercy, what a collection! It would be a dream come true to own even a small fraction of this stuff.
So sad! Loved this museum.
Absolute shame this national treasure is closing down!!!!!
I hate that I’m just learning about this museum!!
We are busy all month so there is no way to grab a trip up to experience this.
God bless this family for what they have done to preserve our history!!🙏🏻♥️🤍💙
Excellent video. I just learned about this museum, and it's a shame it is closing. Many thanks to the family for their dedication to preservation.
the state should step up and buy this from the family and keep it open! this is terrible!
Been meaning to stop there for years, I have to go there before it closes. Thanks!
Going to miss this place, been going since it opened
Glad I got to visit when I was a kid
I was able to visit the weekend before Columbus Day. I'm glad before it's too late. It breaks my heart the museum closes on Halloween.
I really enjoyed this video. I was surprised to see that there was artifacts from Terry’s Texas Rangers. I have family stories about my Great Great Uncle William Baker Wrather who was a Captain with this cavalry unit. Hopefully all these exhibits will be protected at other museums.
I forgot to add. According to his obituary he financed a cavalry troop with gold he obtained in the California Gold Rush. He also fought alongside RIP Ford. Unfortunately other than the obituary I don’t have a lot of information on his military record.
Glad you enjoyed it
It would be nice for a single person or group of investors to purchase whole thing to keep it together and open.
Why don't YOU?
The Sons of the Confederacy or the Daughters of The Republic of Texas need to step in!
First I heard of this. I live in Irving, gonna take my boys to see this along with friends before it closes.
It belongs in a museum!
It is so damn sad to see this museum closing. I hope something can be done to save it.
Makes me sad, I was fortunate enough to visit in 2021 and was very impressed.
Thank you
It is so incredibly sad that this is going away.
I had ancestors on both sides of that war. We believed in diversity! I am deeply saddened by this closing.
I’ve been there a many of times. Took a lot of dates there. Haha I’m a huge history buff. Love that place.
Sad to hear it’s closing.
This is sad what’s wrong with our government they should protect this
It absolutely awful that the museum is closing. An important collection displaying our history and our regional history closing because too many Yankees and liberal Californians are uncomfortable with displays of Confederate memorabilia and any expression of Southern pride. Texas has sold its soul for the sake of economic progress and our history comes at that expense.
What part of the private museum do you not understand? The owner(s) no longer wish to fund the museum, but sure fantasize about scary Yankee and California boogeymen coming to take away the museum.

This Billy Yank agrees with you. I've always felt the South has every right to honor its heroes and protect its unique heritage. People who are "uncomfortable" with Confederate memorabilia are usually degenerate liberals. 57 genders are fine but statues of Stonewall Jackson are unacceptable.
