    Thanks for the video. Just one note, "MB/s" would mean megabytes per second, not megabits as it's actually the case. There's quite a difference between the two, 8 times to be exact.

    Interesting comparison and for myself it’s the DJI Mini 2 for the better photos and video, plus the Occusync Tx. Line of sight for me as I don’t see a need to go out kms etc..also it will work on my iPad pro with the DJI app...like a big screen TV. So I can see all the buttons and text ok...I use reading glasses..thanks Laurie NZ

    Nice break down . I noticed one other difference between the mini SE and the mini 2 .
    The mini SE does not have the front light bar ..
    also four un mentioned differences between the mini 1 and the SE .
    The SE is using the upgraded brushless motors , the quieter props , and the mini2 arms (without the polystyrene packing) and the USBC motherboard from the mini 2 . Thanks.

    I am looking to purchase my 1st drone. I nearly pulled the trigger but saw your Mini 3 teaser videos and now I’m back on the fence. I went for a drive with the family today and kept on thinking what this place and that place would look like from above… so tempting to just go v2… November-ish feels like a long time to wait.

      I have a mini, a mini 2, and Air 2. Get yourself a mini 2 to start. Don't worry about anything else you'll be happy. Unless you're the type that needs the newest thing. There's always going to be a new drone. And if the mini 3 comes out and you want that, Dji has a trade up option on their website.

      Totally agree with the comments below - get the Mini 2. The Mini 3 may or may to come out this year, affected in a big way by the lack of microchips. Even if it does come out, you would have had many months of enjoyment with the Mini 2, including get alot of flying experience, which means you will be able to make an even more informed decision about wither or not the mini 3 is worth upgrading (for you). Go for the Mini 2 mate.

    Looking at the SE, the Mini 2 and the original Mini my person opinion is that the SE was released to get rid of excess original mini's. Right now if I was to purchase a Mini it would have to be the Mini 2. But with the rumours around that the Mini 3 will be dropping in a couple of months I would wait till the Mini 3 is released. Two reasons:
    1. Old stock of the mini 2 in shops will probably be discounted
    2. The SE is now old technology compared to the Mini 2.

    • @GetBusyLiving
      @GetBusyLiving  3 года назад +1

      Yes all very good reasons to wait. If you were dead keen to get going though, I wouldn't wait. Then if/when a Mini 3 comes out, you would have already had a few months at least of enjoyment, plus more experience flying, then you would be able to make an even more informed decision as to whether the Mini 3 was right for you. It's all personal choice in the end, but all of your reasons are very valid. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment 👍😊

    Thanks for the video. I had the Mavic Pro and just found it too complex for pleasurable, quick use. I'm excited about the SE and watched a few videos on it and have just ordered it. It seems easy to use, offers decent quality, good flight time and its so cheap it ridiculous (paid $485 New Zealand Dollars). It will be great for my 9 year old too as its easy to fly. Who really needs to fly further than 4k anyway. I wont be to nervous on damaging it either like I was on the Mavic Pro when I owned it which just added to the stress of owning/using it.

    • @GetBusyLiving
      @GetBusyLiving  3 года назад +2

      I totally agree with you for all the reasons you have listed! Yes with the bigger, more complex, and more expensive drones there is alot more pressure - more pressure not to damage, to use all of the features so you don't feel like you have wasted your money. I love the simplicity of the smaller drones and you do get alot more pleasure flying them as a result. I love your comments - if you are ok I might include them in a future video?

    • @GetBusyLiving

    Great video, this is the first proper comparison video of the mini se to mini 2 that provides real world applications. But surely the price difference of almost 150% for the mini 2 can’t be worth it for the transmission stability alone? How bad is the enhanced WiFi especially in NZ, where the drones can come as FCC, and must remain in VLoS which for this drone is ~500m?

    • @GetBusyLiving
      @GetBusyLiving  3 года назад +3

      Thanks for that - I appreciate it! To be honest the signal is not too bad. It is like a lot of places - line of sight is important. Plus if you fly in more urban situations then yes you will get interference. between the two though I find theta line of sight is more important - I still get drop outs on my mini 2 if the line of sight is not great.

    Why would the range be a big deal to people when you must remain in LOS of your drone, like it wouldn't be that far away until you can't see the drone anymore. Or does line of sight mean as long as nothing goes inbetween you and the drone then you can go as far as you like and doesn't matter if you can still physically see it or not?

    • @GetBusyLiving
      @GetBusyLiving  3 года назад +1

      Hi Brad, you're right, depending on the jurisdiction you are in, most will say you need to keep you drone in line of sight at all times, without the aid of anything like binoculars etc. So yes given that the best you could do would be a few hundred metres, the extended (transmission) range of the drone in this sense is a moot point. However for most of us we take the long range as a sign of signal strength, meaning that in normal use situations (within a few hundred metres) you should have a very good signal. Some drones do suffer from poor connection strength, even at short distances like that.

      - collision avoidance
      - active track
      - 4K 60fps
      - improved low-light image
      - better wind resistance
      - longer max battery life
      - higher quality image transfer
      - maybe even optical zoom
      Will have to see, may try and see if there is going to be anything by the end of the year and if not then probs go Mini 2.

    The Mini SE is over-priced, by 33%
    I have the Mini 2, and believe it is also OVER-PRICED.
    Won't be getting another DJI ,
    DJI "PUSH" / "SET" the price (too high) , and competitors come "close to" / "just below" with their prices ( which is too high for the quality of their drones)
    MJX 16 Pro is A great alternative

      Yes, so true. Here in Malaysia, the mini se is at RM1349 whereas mini 2 at RM1899. It's a very large number for many of us where our country min wage p is only RM1200 per month. As a student, I patiently waiting for the right time and price to buy used drone in the second hand market :')

      Yes, however the Mini 2 battery is slightly heavier than the battery that comes with the SE, so technically you won't be under 249g any more.

    • @GetBusyLiving
      @GetBusyLiving  3 года назад +1

      @@Cobrabird No I think you should go ahead and get the Mini 2. The Mini 3 is still speculation at this stage and there are no real indications it is coming anytime soo. anyway, if it does, you would have had a few months at least, of experience with the Mini 2, which will give you enjoyment plus allow you to hone your skills as a pilot. Plus you will be in a better position to know if it is worth upgrading to the Mini 3 or if the mini 2 is fine for your needs. My advice, buy the Mini 2 today.

    Dude, pretty irresponsible to complain about 4km transmission range when you aren't supposed to fly them beyond line of sight legally.

    • @GetBusyLiving
      @GetBusyLiving  3 года назад

      It wasn't a complaint, just pointing out the difference between the two drones. I think you're missing the point mate, 99% of people don't fly their drones to the 4km or beyond, it's more about the extra signal strength that this capability gives you when you fly your drone 👍

    • @geogeek1758
      @geogeek1758 3 года назад +1

      @@GetBusyLiving Yip, fair point. It was pointed out as a comparison. To clarify my point, 4km vs 10km range is a moot point in just about every country in the world due to legal restrictions which require only flying within line of sight. Which, for a drone this size would be a max of 500m if you have really good eyes, and I think that is good for reviewers to point out rather than give newbies the impression that they can go that far.
