That is a misconception about hip hop /rap music, that it is all about drugs, violence, anger, and girls etc. That is what you get with generic rappers. J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Tupac etc are what we call conscious rappers which means they rap to make you think and write about real life. Like RM, they are philosophers and poets, not just rappers. Like any other genre of music, you have to read the lyrics, that is the beauty of hip hop....
