Cdot isn't a clone, and Preston is the only clone WITH cracks, so he has two souls inside him: his own and... Someone else's. when he heard the name "Dave", He said "Why does that name sound familiar" AND he rebuilt the cloning machine entirely! And who would know how to rebuild it but the Scientist Himself!
