Being a complete 63 year old newbie, I just want to say thank you,and I appreciate you,and the other blender chaps who give your time, and expertise freely to help people who want to learn blender
Actually I started with the Blender Fundamentals playlist from the official Blender channel, I did never watch the donut tutorials. I really recommend it, they're really short (sub 5 min) videos that explain the basics, and if you happen to know one of them you can just skip it. It may be the equivalent to reading the manual, so it's not project-oriented, but I think it is a good introduction to Blender.
I started with Imphenzia's low poly tutorial. Obviously not everyone wants to do low poly, but this video helped me learn the most basic tools for your day-to-day projects (E-to extrude, S-to scale, R- to rotate, G-to move. Rinse, repeat). From there, I could branch out to more tutorials.
I'll give a shout out to Imphenzia. His low poly, 10 min, blender videos is what got me into blender. He's clear, easy to follow, and you can really get in and make interesting things without having to learn a million different things at once. And he really drills the basics into you so you're not just jumping from one new thing to another forgetting everything you just learned.
I love these types of people that direct you to the resources you might be looking for, it's clear their motive isn't fame and money but passion for their craft and a desire to help others learn and create. Blender secrets unkept from the public and not gatekept or behind paywalls (though there are great courses out there for a quicker guide to whatever you're seeking to learn in blender). You definitely earned a sub and a long time viewer, I can't wait to learn more from you all
I just started my blender journey 2 days ago and I’m current doing the donut tutorial but this video right here was exactly what I needed. I wanted to test out as much from blender as I could to see what I like best. Thanks for this!
I can't tell you how well spoken and organised this was. The perfect confidence boost. I have a couple college classes of experience with Maya, Zbrush and Substance Painter, so hopefully dipping my toe in Blender and picking up from there won't be too bad.
Dude, thank you so much for this list - I've been going through each channel you suggested and as a total Blender noob it's becoming clearer and clearer how much value your video is packing. Thank you!
I have to say, as a new be if it wasn't for your and Blender Guru's vids I probably wouldn't have started with Blender at all. Been at it for about 3 months now and I love the community. Thanks for all your work!
After a long hiatus of animation, this is super sick. I've wanted to specialize in motion graphics/animation, so I'm for sure sticking around. And the other channels are also great for just learning how to navigate the fundamentals of other areas. Good job on the video! It's super helpful for a returning user like me!
Ive been going at blender for 8 plus years but the last 3 years with you, and the various artists in the other videos you mentioned in the Free section, and I thank you all for everything!!!
I've watched and learned from pretty much everyone on this list, including you sir, I still have some of the tutorial projects that I learned from you on my profile. I'm starting to move onto creating my own stuff but I still check out tutorials all the time, you can never learn enough and there's always a new technique or add-on or just new stuff to learn. So I'll keep watching ya and def will always check in for more tutorials. Thanks for all the help and inspiration brotha, big props and respect from a fellow artist, keep crushin it kid!
The biggest feather in Blender's cap is the amazingly large community of helpful artists and talent helping others get into CGI. Very useful list, thank you!
I love that you took the time to make this video, thank you! I am just starting my blender journey, I’ve been making art and animations and sculpting clay etc for years, now I want to go into 3D modelling and this video was a perfect way to start, thank you again! 😃
I've been struggling to find a good set of tutorials for blender, as someone who's completely new to 3D art, it's been pretty daunting. You've curated a great list here, i'm going to take a look at a bunch of these channels! Thanks for the help dude.
My guy, I'm working for a few music labels, doing 3D models and animations... I'm not an expert in any way, but I have to say that your channel is one of the most useful, easy to understand and inspiring channel in RUclips. Thank you king❤️
The best way to learn blender today is not to do it at all. AI generated imagery is quickly becoming the norm. Blender artists are a relic of the past.
Thank you so much for providing this information! I’ve been putting off blender since pandemic because I was so intimidated… but I promised myself that I would move forward with 3D design in the new year. So I’ll be jumping on this for sure!
It's a gift when you find someone who can guide and help you when learning something new. I'm just starting with blender and your video was one of the first videos I watched. Thank you so much
Awesome video! Started learning from Blender Guru over a decade ago, I think. Fell off for a very long time, have been using Fusion360 for designs of functional parts for 3D Printing and have been thinking of getting full blown back into Blender. Been looking where to start with the newer versions of Blender since they are quite a bit diff than when I left the software and I really enjoy how you broke it down by categories. Also, I'm sorry but I can't help it: "Payed?" :P
Thank you so much for all the recommendations. There's a plethora of varied creators and tutorials online, and when someone is starting, they can get pretty overwhelmed or... get into a fit of analysis paralysis. I've been trying my hands at Blender since the early versions, from decade ago. But never gotten to get any usable knowledge at all - And today, I'm a backend developer by profession, and that life has started to make a little bit more sense... I'm getting back to my old interests and hobbies. And this video gave pretty good overview of how to get started, and where to refer to, in case I wanted to go deep. This is super helpful. Just watching your video gave me the confidence, I can do something with Blender too. Thanks again! :)
JUST WHAT I NEEDED! THANKS A LOT FOR THIS VIDEO!! I haven't seen video that compiles and groups tutorials into themes. Very useful not only for beginners but for pros too( I think because I am just a beginner in this matter 😁) I hope to get some time and at least nudge some of mentioned tutorials myself :D But now back to character creation and finishing Unreal Engine tutorial project. Best wishes and I hope you make more Blender-related content!!
Your title around 0:20 has a typo in it, said 'payed' instead of 'paid'. Been binging your videos for a while, love the short tutorials learning meaningful stuff. I just don't have the attention span for very long videos. Have a sub!
Wow there are a lot of these guys I had no idea. Thank you for making this video!!!! This is why I love the blender community pulling togethe and helping the little guy learn.
Thank you Ducky 3D! Awesome & on point post! I remember you from back when I first started. You, Andrew & a lot of others you mentioned. Glad to see your still around doing your thing! 😊💯%
I don't think there's a lot of person like you i mean your teaching everybody for free and your sopperting others as well i am watching you from last 8 months and your videos helped me so much thank you for this and bro you gain more than love you gain blessings (love from India)
This video was so helpful! AE guy trying to improve my 3D skills. I never got very far with Cinema 3D to justify the cost, so I'm giving Blender a try. Love how you shout out other 3D creatives and provide a breakdown of the various 3D disciplines. Subscribed here and on Patreon, plus already purchased your Mograph course and Realtime Materials.
I really appreciate this video. I just started my Blender journey this week, and hopefully I’ll stay on it. This’ll definitely help. I was already struggling with figuring out which tutorials would be best to start with. So yeah, thanks for this.
Hey thanks for this video. I loved cartooning as a kid but dreamed of going beyond that. I have wanted to dive into Blender for the longest time. Now that I have the time you have been very helpful. I won’t ever be as good as yourself and the others you have mentioned but I love the challenge of trying these tools out. Thank you.
Glev at CreativeShrimp is one of my favorites too...his Cinematic Lighting Course should be included also maybe in a part 2 ..he breaks own Cinematic lighting like no one else does..his style is well paced and so easy to follow. Aria Faith also has some really good Blender simulation tutorials easy to follow and also ery well paced
It has been about a month since I decided to learn Blender and many other softwares to build up a career as a 3D artist. I started with the famous Donut Tutorial but I couldn't finish it so instead I searched different channels until I found polygon runway. I completed a few of the tutorial and got back to the Andrew Price 's Chair tutorial and learnt a lot of things now that I am able to use blender better. I will check all the other accounts mentioned here because I am kind of stuck and hopeless because I only create things by following tutorials! Hope I can improve myself better. This is a great video and I am a subscriber now :)
A way to get over the "I only create things from tutorials" hurdle is by assigning yourself homework after each tutorial -- create something similar (so you repeat the workflow and operations you just learned), but different enough that it still challenges you. Do 2 or 3 per tutorial. Before striking out entirely on your own, you need to build up a repertoire of skills, but if you do this you will be doing more and more complex stuff on your own, and eventually you'll just do tutorials to expand your overall knowledge base..
Thank you for this man, definitely saving for later. CG Cookie's course has been in my playlist for like a week, so now I know I'm on the right track. Let me go build this handheld console, so I can come back and explore your content
I've been trying to get started for so long but couldn't because of information overload, this gave me so much direction to work from. Thank you so much man.
I had heard of some of these people before, but it's great to get an overview like this. Learned a few new names to check out, and I'm feeling inspired. 😃 Thanks Ducky3d
@@TheDucky3D Thanks man! p.s. it would be WONDERFUL if you could provide links in the description. When I was looking for some of the courses it was difficult to find and actually almost bought the incorrect course because 'udemy' was at the top on almost all of the search results I looked through
And that was a good course on how to lift up a community. As well as yourself. Hey man I really like the vibe of this. Back when I was trying to be a professional. This was my keep it up bro we appreciate you.
Ayy thank you for the shoutout man! You were one of my primary inspirations when I got started on RUclips, so thank you for everything that you do! 💖 Happy new year- and hope you continue to crush it this year too! :D
Proposing other youtubers doing similar tutorials like you is very honorable, especially in nowadays times of elbow mentality. props for that. Thanks for the suggestions, and yes, I'll keep on watching your anim tutorials as well ;-)
Thank you for the list & breaking it up into who teaches what blender has become so popular youtube is a sea of artists with their own style & skill set
Actually as another free tutorial course CrossMindStudio is a really great artist and a very good teacher, I love his style, he covers most of the things if not all of them and he keeps adding more and more videos. His channel is worth visiting and going through for beginner and advanced learners.
mind boggling, especially in the time of content creation in 2023, to see a video where he literally only talks highly of other channels and points them in that direction. very bold, very respectable. love to see it!
Crossmind Studios also has a good tutorial series for the basics (7 days of blender). They continue on to all different kinds of subjects. I think they're still working on a series about geometry nodes. Very good stuff! 👍
I concur; I would personally say that as an absolute beginner, Crossmind Studios' days of Blender is the best place to being. What I really like about it is that he assumes that you know nothing about the program going in (which in my state when I first watched him after stumbling through some tutorials was a pretty fair assessment) and starts off by just showing the tools and functions that the software offers. To give a carpentry analogy, he starts you off with letting you learn about your hammers, drills, wrenches, circular saws, drill presses, etc. Not asking you to build anything with them right away, just getting to know how they work, what they look like, and where to find them. That way, when a later instruction asks you to reach for a tool - you know what it is and where to find it. I found I was able to retain more just following along and taking notes on what-does-what than I did with following specific tutorials on building things. It made going through some of the other tutorials around RUclips much less frustrating when I didn't have to pause and rewind every few seconds to find the function that they had just mentioned they needed to use (which I would forget in about a minute anyway because they would then move on to the next thing - which then causes my short term memory to dump to pick up the next thing.) TLDR; Crossmind Studios' course is an excellent place for building a proper foundation from the ground up.
Thanks for the info, just starting the Blender journey and good to know the best to learn from. Really appreciate the grouping of categories so I could focus on what I am interested in.
It's insane to think how far blender has come 🤯 It's even more insane that 95% of people haven't subscribed to the tutorial master Ducky 😤 In all seriousness, thanks for the honorable mention man 🙏 Connecting with you and these other amazing Blender creators over the past year has been incredible and your help/guidance means the world💛
This video is so useful!! Especially for people like me who just started and don't even know what they don't know. It's so good to see what and where is there to learn about Blender. Thanks!
Awesome! I watch this video 2 months ago, watching videos from those channels, and decided to try starting my own youtube channel making tutorial for 3d blender, i think that will be a good way to keep learning and tracking my progress, and also finding friends to learn together
Awesome video. Btw "Ponte Ryuurui" is another awesome hard surface instructor and he has a lot of awesome videos. Also he and Josh Gambrell partners on the blenderbros.
Ponte Ryuurui is great, but not for beginners (much less so than Josh). He mostly works with commercial add-ons, which are well worth it if you specialize in hard surface modeling, but are pricey for a beginner who might not ever go in that direction after learning the basics. And figuring out how to do things in vanilla Blender while watching Ponte speed through with BoxCutter and HardOps is a painstaking, frustrating experience (I've done it). Also, he doesn't explain why he does things, which is something beginners really need. So I'd put him on the shelf until one's got the fundamentals under one's belt already. But then, definitely; he's an amazing artist.
gosh! thank you very much for this video, I have just started my blender journey with no prior 3D experience. I must say the learning curve is steep! I find even the donut course a big struggle for me. However your recommend channels are really helpful! thank you!

Thanks so much for this video that will help me to far !! I wish I could have more links for environment arts (even with a bit of Unreal Engine crossed with Blender), I'm really interested on it, so I will deep dive on the last tips you gave us. Thanks again and all the best for this new year :)
😮 Really? I saw the name and thought it couldn't be right 😂 Perhaps because i've only got bad associations to him from all of his scamming endeavours 🫣 Glad to hear he does something right...
I can confirm that BlenderGuru's beginner tutorial is the best I have ever watched and followed along. And most other people/channels say that as well.

It depends on your learning style actually, I'm better at learning with making projects instead of theorical knowledge

@@TheDucky3D Thanks man! p.s. it would be WONDERFUL if you could provide links in the description. When I was looking for some of the courses it was difficult to find and actually almost bought the incorrect course because 'udemy' was at the top on almost all of the search results I looked through
Royal Skies is also great for extremely fast and easy to follow tutorials on a wide range of topics (animation, efficient UV mapping, rigging)
And that was a good course on how to lift up a community. As well as yourself. Hey man I really like the vibe of this. Back when I was trying to be a professional. This was my keep it up bro we appreciate you.
Its a blessing that this video popped on to the feed. Thank you for creating this video ❤
Ayy thank you for the shoutout man! You were one of my primary inspirations when I got started on RUclips, so thank you for everything that you do! 💖
Happy new year- and hope you continue to crush it this year too! :D
Proposing other youtubers doing similar tutorials like you is very honorable, especially in nowadays times of elbow mentality. props for that.
Thanks for the suggestions, and yes, I'll keep on watching your anim tutorials as well ;-)
Yea man! We do it quite a bit in the Blender community, most of us are friends, and loved to encourage each other
Thank you for the list & breaking it up into who teaches what blender has become so popular youtube is a sea of artists with their own style & skill set
Yes, yes, yes. I am so grateful you made this hub for different Blender channels. Definitely subbing to them all. Bless you!
Actually as another free tutorial course CrossMindStudio is a really great artist and a very good teacher, I love his style, he covers most of the things if not all of them and he keeps adding more and more videos. His channel is worth visiting and going through for beginner and advanced learners.
the best teacher on youtube, thanks for everything .
Thanks man!
Thank you, Ducky!! This was an awesome video and very inspiring. Great way to start 2023!
mind boggling, especially in the time of content creation in 2023, to see a video where he literally only talks highly of other channels and points them in that direction. very bold, very respectable. love to see it!
Crossmind Studios also has a good tutorial series for the basics (7 days of blender). They continue on to all different kinds of subjects. I think they're still working on a series about geometry nodes. Very good stuff! 👍
I was about to say this. They're good.
Yep, agreed. Crossmind Studios is the best introduction to the fundamentals of Blender, and at good pace. And Imphenzia for low poly modelling.
It made going through some of the other tutorials around RUclips much less frustrating when I didn't have to pause and rewind every few seconds to find the function that they had just mentioned they needed to use (which I would forget in about a minute anyway because they would then move on to the next thing - which then causes my short term memory to dump to pick up the next thing.)
TLDR; Crossmind Studios' course is an excellent place for building a proper foundation from the ground up.
I fifth that.. second, third and fourth is already take.
For awesome Geometry Nodes tutorials, nobody beats Crossmind Studios RUclips channel. This guy is freakin' unbelievable!
Thanks for the heads up
True
I just wanted to say thanks. Not a lot of youtubers give you other channels to sub to. It really helped.
Thanks for the info, just starting the Blender journey and good to know the best to learn from. Really appreciate the grouping of categories so I could focus on what I am interested in.
It's insane to think how far blender has come 🤯
It's even more insane that 95% of people haven't subscribed to the tutorial master Ducky 😤
In all seriousness, thanks for the honorable mention man 🙏
Connecting with you and these other amazing Blender creators over the past year has been incredible and your help/guidance means the world💛
Ur gonna have a awesome year man!
My man! 0:20, it's paid, not payed! I had so much faith in you, Ducky!
I’m sorry, my misspelling caused you to lose faith in me lol
@@TheDucky3D All good, just pulling your chain, brother. Big ups for all the hard work and resources you put out. It is much appreciated!
Didn't know that Logan Paul was a blender teacher 😂
Awesome video. Btw "Ponte Ryuurui" is another awesome hard surface instructor and he has a lot of awesome videos. Also he and Josh Gambrell partners on the blenderbros.
Oh nice!
I was about to ask why no Ponte in the list :) Also masterxeon1001 who is one of the developers of hard ops and boxcutter.
@@aimlezz8855 omg ty so much, another godlike channel for me.
However your recommend channels are really helpful! thank you!
Thank you. Now I'm going back to blender tuts again for the umpteenth time since version 2.7! But I needed this so thank you very much! ♥

This is not what I expected for the title of this video, but this has been a very thoughtful video with tons of knowledge from others. Thanks Ducky
Was feeling a little lost after taking a month off for the holidays; this is a great way to get back into it, thanks!
Best way to learn blender:
1. RUclips
2. Practice
3. More RUclips
4. More practice
That’s right!!
Actually, these guys are known to everyone. They are cool, including Ducky3D. ;)
Everyone has incredible skills and everyone has personal style. This is also important.
Thanks for the reminder. Time to watch some tutorials again to refresh memory and skills.
Heck yea
Thanks so much for this video that will help me to far !! I wish I could have more links for environment arts (even with a bit of Unreal Engine crossed with Blender), I'm really interested on it, so I will deep dive on the last tips you gave us. Thanks again and all the best for this new year :)
Thanks for the update about all of the new people that are currently doing the most updated and interesting
Logan Paul truly is an artistic genius when it comes to blender
😮 Really? I saw the name and thought it couldn't be right 😂
Perhaps because i've only got bad associations to him from all of his scamming endeavours 🫣
Glad to hear he does something right...
"paid" ; )
Oops
i saw that lol
Don't worry, Ducky did that on purpose to get interaction in the comments like we are doing now :)
@@Techx if you knew me you would know I’m bad at spelling haha
@@Techx yes, a cunning ploy : )
Thank you very much for adding the links to all the channels and paid courses in the video description. 👍
Thank you for this, I am committing to learning Blender this year and this video is the best guide ever 🙌
Logan Paul? The Fuck?
A rather harsh comment
@@TheDucky3D harsh but true. not cool scamming people
I basically learned blender with your tutorials (mainly). thanks again :) this selection is really great !
looking to lvl up my blender skills this year thank you for sharing all the great resources !
Just discovered Josh Gambrell and I've been going over a ton of his hard surface stuff! Him and Ponte Ryuurui
Keep up the great work Ducky
Awesome, been looking for a video that could give an overview of all the places to learn like this. Thanks!
Thanks for compiling this list! Much appreciated!
This is exactly what I needed, the past month I wanted to get into blender but didn't know where to start
This is the video I have been searching for long time.... Thank you❣️
I’m just getting started in 3D art with blender and I appreciate this video thank you
I love your videos because they are very concise and teach me how to make cool little projects very quickly. Thank you! And omg what a cute cat!!
I can confirm that BlenderGuru's beginner tutorial is the best I have ever watched and followed along. And most other people/channels say that as well.
You are one of these best channel, so it's right that you mention yourself. Keep going !
