Oh my goodness!! This is close to what I have done while editing my old let's plays, but but- I was editing it in post. WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I NEED IT THE MOST!? It would have made my life so much easier... I'm happy to know it exists now. Cheers for the video Retro Crisis!
Amazing, I was just chatting with someone on Reddit about a CRT shader that could emulate bezel reflections. Had no idea it actually existed. Definitely a game changer for non-CRT users.
I did this and the results to so cool, it really is a very novel way to play these games and turning off the lights just makes it magical. I just wish there was some more options to filter audio.
I fell in love with the transparency shader from Mega Bezel, it takes a few settings changes to get it full screen but its the best shader I've tried by far.
@@RetroCrisis So I use the same scaling options as you do except I turn off integer scale and change the aspect ratio to 4:3, core provided might also work. I select the standard no reflections folder and use Blending and Transparency 1440p. Then at the parameters under [Aspect Ratio] i change the Type to 6.00 which is full screen and it eliminates the unnecessary bezels entirely resulting in a 1920x1440 which is perfect 4:3 for my monitor. Then I scroll all the way down to [NTSC Quality] and change the preset to 1.00 which is Composite. I use this for all the 4th gen and under consoles and S-Video for 5th gen and up. Obviously, blowing up the image will result in some very noticeable dithering in some games like Earthworm Jim which I really don't like. A fix I found for this is to reduce the resolution scaling to 0.75 or 0.50. The latter makes the picture very blurry, especially text in some games, but also smoothens edges and background dithering. The only problem I'm trying to fix is the brightness which like you've said in a previous video is kinda dark, maybe better on the eyes, but lacking some vibrance I've tried to mess with the brightness and gamma but only ended up making the picture look worse. But that aside this is my favorite shader for retro games, I wouldn't be using it without your videos so thanks a lot!
If anyone runs into a problem with GLSL shaders appearing instead of Slang Shaders in your Online Updater here is the quick fix: Change your video driver to Vulkan as shown in the above video.Following that, restart Retroarch and then the Slang Shaders will appear in the Online Updater menu. Loved the video, Cheers.
I'm not sure why, but I don't have the option to set the aspect ratio to full. All I see are the various aspect ratios (4:3, 16:9, etc etc), Config, 1:1 PAR, Core Provided, and Custom. Is there something wrong with my build?
no such thing as "slang shader" though, the shader you can update is called "GLSL Shaders". maybe it has changed since april or slang shader is something else entirely and it requires a specific setting to show up.
Thanks a small correction however you need actually to change to Vulkan driver first , relaunch retroarch and THEN go to online update , otherwise you will have download gl shaders no slang shaders

I have advaced settings enabled, yet I can't see "core" options. I'm using Retrobat, and I'm configuring Retroarch directly from its .exe All the bezels are working fine, aside of some in arcade emulators, which are being rotated, so I was happy when you talked about disabling "allow rotation" in 1:48... but yes, "core" is not there, and I can't find it... any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Hey dude, are you using the latest version of the official RetroArch? Also if possible download the latest version of mega Bezel. It should work. I must admit I've never used Retrobat

Is there a way to use the reflection shader without the CRT filter? I wanna combine it with sonkun CRT shader but it looks weird with both CRT filters lmao
Why does it take forever to load the preset for me when I click it and it lags really badly when loaded? I'm loading a 2000 x 2000 video to apply it on. Is that why? If so, how do I fix?
I just realized you are trying to load a 2Kx2K movie. If this is what you are doing try one of the drez presets if you want a crt look with scanlines, or try one of the passthrough presets if you want a very sharp modern image.
I can't switch GPU index to my Radeon 520 (laptop). It remains with the on board Intel graphics, and it doesn't display any other option (although I make sure that the Radeon GPU is working correctly with all the steam games). Can anyone please tell me how to fix that? Thanks a lot.

Tried using the last shader in crt presets you mentioned and it looked amazing but game was running slow. Tried the non ntsc one and it loaded fine and looked amazing but when i exited the game and tried to launch it again it wouldn't load. I had already applied core overides so I cant launch any sega genesis games now. 😧 First time trying shaders.
Sorry to hear that. At worst, you could go to your RetroArch folder and delete retroarch.cfg file and then reopen RetroArch - this will do a "factory reset" on RetroArch and give you all the base settings again.
