That made my toes curl - and I'm female! Bloody well done, and especially for doing it on camera, as it will be an enormous help and comfort for others facing the same situation. This sort of honesty and transparency is much-needed - good on you. xx
Many people will look this procedure up on youtube and find your video, and watch it, and probably feel better knowing what to expect. Good job. Speedy recovery - good luck!
Having followed your journey with the kidney stone issues, I have to say you look so much more like the old Colin in this video than you have for some time.. Very pleased the stent is out and now you can now move on xx huge respect and love to you both xx😊
Good on ya Colin for sharing your experience. People who may have to go through the same thing will be helped by you being so open and honest. Hope all will soon be well with the other issues. Love to you both. C&M.💞🐾🐾🐓🐝🦉.xxxxx
a packed Wembley stadium would have gone silent when you pulled that out. It was happening to every man watching. How proud are you for summoning up the courage to do it and show the rest of us. Amazing
Excellent video so brave of you to film it. But if you don't mind me saying you are looking loads better and seem a lot happier in yourself. Onward and upward. 👍👍
Thankyou for sharing. Myself, I’ve had multiple cystoscopies and every time it’s a bit of anxiety. And I will say, some nurses do a better job of using Lidocaine to numb the urethra and some doctors are more gentle than others with the cystoscope. You’ve done a huge service to comfort others who face urinary procedures. Thank You.
That was very scary watching it, Colin. But please know, that this video will be so much help for guys going through the same situation. You always are so excellent at explaining things in detail, which is so helpful. My husband is urethra was torn loose from his bladder during an auto accident over 20 years ago, so I’m familiar with bladder/urethra issues from a caregiver standpoint. Yes he fully recovered…..and so will you! Sending healing thoughts
My dad has had kidney stones as well as five rounds of blader cancer treatments. Colin's honesty with what he has gone through has helped me to understand what my dad has had to go through over the last twenty plus years. Thank you.
GOOD 👍 😊 Mens health issues need to be "normalised" by speaking about them authoritatively and factually as you have in this video, Colin, thank you. I'm so pleased the Algorithms haven't eliminated or distorted your helpful video, in some way. Yes, those Algorithms that blank out certain words in Closed Captions (subtitles) as if we're to delicate to hear or read them.
Well done Colin! Very brave to do that on camera when it was going to be anxiety inducing anyway. I remember removing my own catheter after having my second baby. Not quite the same but similar and any discomfort was definitely outweighed but getting rid of the tube which was actually more irritating and made me feel trapped. I hope it all goes smoothly for you now and all the fragments are passed quickly. X
You are so awesome!!! Nobody else would have talked about it let alone filmed it! I'm a woman and was holding my breath for you LOL! and then I started laughing because your facial expressions were priceless and then the relief i'm sure we all felt for you. Super glad that horrible thing is out of you and good luck passing the pieces and then you'll be feeling a whole lot better. Have a blessed day to both of you
Thanks a lot for the facts, and thanks a lot for your very good factual style of narration suited for this particular case. It fits the subject perfectly, and your experience with it. Top class. Thanks a lot....I just had prostate peeling surgery today, so I, not least, am motivated for this kind of content. The perfect hospital team worked further down the line than the bladder-kidney connection, you talk about. I am so impressed by the day suregery, they performed from morning to midday at, Skejby Sygehus, Denmark, and am hopefull that this will be the end of my enlarged prostate problems as to difficulty peeing for a long, long time. Knock on wood. All the best from Denmark.
Well done Colin that took a lot of courage, I hope Sean was with you while you did that just in case you needed help, filming this will hopefully be helpful for other men who need to do the same procedure. Can I just say that I think you definitely seem a lot brighter in yourself since the operation, I am hoping that's because the dreadful constant chronic pain has gone, I live with constant chronic pain and have done since I was 15 due to severe spinal damage resulting in me being paralysed in my left leg and confined to a wheelchair for 29 years, so you having the relief of not being in that horrendous pain anymore is such a blessing for you and I truly hope that over time you will return to being yourself. A huge thank you to Sean for being there throughout this ordeal, having you by his side will have helped in ways you can never imagine. I love you boys so much and send love and hugs to you and the doggos xxxx
Unfortunately, my pain wasn’t mostly from the stone. I too have a serious back issue (more details soon), which is what I’m now starting treatment for. x
@FoxesAfloat oh Colin I am so sorry I hope with all my heart that you are able to get help from a specialist, I truly hope you can get the help you need. Take care xx
I had one of those put in after I had a HUGE kidney stone removed. It was supposed to ONLY be in for 6 weeks, it was in for TEN,it was horrendous ,like sitting on a razor blade for the last 2 weeks. Having it removed was a struggle for Nurse, the relief was wonderful. Never again!!!!!.
Having had several catheters put in and taken out over the course of about a year a couple of years or so ago I can sympathise with how uncomfortable that must've been. Well done for doing so well and producing this - it will help any who've had to go through similar procedures to understand how straightforward the process is
So proud of you for showing this. It will give much reassurance to anyone faced with a similar situation. I hope that you are now much more pain free and able to get back to a more normal life. Many congratulations.
Absolutely WELL Done Colin 👏. How you have coped, then explained this process, is amazing and will be such a massive help to others, I'm sure. Continue to get well very soon. Love from us both ❤️ xx
Well done Colin. I,m so glad that you've got the stone out after all the hell you've gone through in the last three years. And well done Shaun caring so brilliantly. He's a wonderful guy. You two are such genuine people. I loved the shots from your wedding. Such a spiritual occasion. May you have many happy years ahead LOL
Great job Colin. Here in the states, someone would have added Stephen King type music, a light show or other dramatic effects. Thanks for the no distractions real time walk through. Kudos.
Thank you for this video. I just had my doctor's appointment to get my stent removed this morning, and watching this last night really helped me get ready. I agree, it is a 2/3 in pain and more uncomfortable than painful. Cheers!
Geez I felt that and I haven't got a willy!! Because I'm a lady!! Seriously though, bloody well done. I sincerely hope that you don't get any more of those kidney stones. 👍🙏🏼❤️
Wow, I have so much respect for you Colin. When you talk about mens issues and health issues - you truly put your money where your mouth is (so to speak) and talk honestly and openly about things. I am sure there will be someone out there about to go through this procedure and may very well be googling or searching here on YT in the hope that someone shares their experience and comes across this. So glad to hear and see you feeling much better too!
Thanks for sharing that. It’s a scary thing and I’m glad you showed it’s not as bad as you fear it will be. Good luck passing the rest of the stone! ❤❤
Thank you for posting this; it was a big help to me. I just removed my stent about five minutes ago and I am happy to report there was no pain whatsoever (and that is not an exaggeration). I followed the example you set forth and it came out very easily. There was a little blood but that was to be expected. Thanks again, and fellows, if I can do it, then you certainly can!
Thanks for this. I was so stressed out about removing my stent and this really helped. For those that are going through this, it 98% mental and 2% an uncomfortable feeling for a few seconds. Running through what you're about to do in your head is really the worst part.
fab work bud, now its time to make a slow & safe recovery. take your time coming back on social media etc but we all hope the Live chats happen when your both ready to do it!
Thank you so much for sharing this Colin 👍🏻 I’ve got a stent in since March and It’s still in and I’m waiting for it to be removed 😢 It’s so uncomfortable. You’re a top guy for sharing this. Hopefully Shaun gave you a big hug 🤗 afterwards 👍🏻
You are an amazing person sharing details like this which will help others in a similar situation. Having a stay in the hospital today following appendicitis bursting.
I totally understand! Been there done that surgery twice, although they went through my back into the kidney to laser mine, each 5 mm. It’s a relief when it’s out. Good job removing that thing! Glad you finally got that stone out!❤
PSTD!, Similar kidney story, 4 years of pain in stomach moving down the groin, several doctor visits, xrays, diagnosis... constipation. Finally fed up with the pain, new doctor who finally called for a ct-scan. 10 mm stone in the kidney. Lithotripsy (blast with sound waves) for first attempt, unsuccessful. Next attempt, ureteroscopy... failed, large prostate in the way of getting the ureteroscope in the ureter, and now prostate is damaged. New urologist, new attempt, PCNL (punch a hole through the back into the kidney to get the stone), the ureteroscope still cant get past the prostate. Next step two days later, TURP to get the prostate out of the way. During the TURP they were able to get a stent in. Even though the stone is still in the kidney, no pain, such relief! Two weeks later, they finally get the stones, and I removed my own stent, and it looks exactly like yours. I am so glad you finally got some resolution!
Wow excellent demonstration video for people who need to remove their urethral stent. It will certainly make them feel better about what they have to do to remove theirs. Glad to hear you're feeling better. After having major cancer surgery in the "member" area 7 yrs ago, i now live with a long term catheter and every 11 weeks a district nurse comes to change it. Which is always fun.
As so many others have said Colin bravo for sharing this fairly intimate video. Without being boastful I can probably feel more empathy for you than most of the other commenters on here. I've just returned home after being in hospital for 3 days after having had a major problem with my "plumbing". This led to my being fitted with a catheter on Saturday - the relief of having that removed by a nurse yesterday was almost overwhelming. Best of luck with the rest of your recovery.
OMG.........LOL..........My stomach did turn watching that. So glad you're finally on the mend and thank you for sharing. It took some guts doing that on camera.
Man. you're brave! I'm not sure I could have done this. All that "pull hard but not too hard and not too forcefully" type of instructions would leave me going "well how hard is too hard and not too hard?!" I hate those kind of useless instructions - they really need to give better ones! Well done for getting it out - hopefully now you can focus on healing up! :) get well soon! xx
Thanks for demonstrating on what to do, it may help others who are having to do this themselves. Also saved a long return journey for what took less than 5 minutes. I am glad that you are on the mend at last.
I'm having flashbacks of that feeling / sensation and yes it is truly an odd sensation. Also the look of relief on your face after it was out, I think we all understand that. I have to say much respect to pull it out on camera.
You did a great job. Taking a deep breath in, then letting it out slowly as you pull the Stent out, makes it easier. I can see how nerve-wracking it must have been.
Thank you for your video!. It gave me the courage to pull mine out. Just like you said the fear of the unknown is hard to overcome. Not comfortable but doable.
Expat USA lining in Cuenca Ecuador / Good work with the explanation and pain threshold comments. Thanks for the information and sharing of your experience.
Thank you for sharing that, did it help you that you filmed it and thank you for the very spot on camera work ha ha. I hope everything the healing goes well.
I thought, nooooohh... He's not, not gonna show that. But you did, what a hero! Thanks for being so open, very interesting. Now I'm gonna brush up on my reading on how to prevent kidneystones.😑 Hope the ordeal is behind you. Take care!
Stents are useful but uncomfortable. I had a stent when I had a gall bladder duct clogged. Could not lay down to sleep because of stent discomfort, but slept in a recliner instead. Boy was I glad to get that removed so I could sleep in my bed. But then the cat snuggled on me, but that was okay. She was a worried cat. Glad you feel better!
Well done, having had several cameras pushed up the old John Thomas into the bladder and kidneys I feel for you. Pissing glass was the only way I could describe the days afterwards. No stent for me, but I'm glad that removal went well for you. Hope the healing continues. 👍
I take my hat off to you Colin! You beautiful soul for sharing. Im so happy thats over for you! Wishing you a good recovery. Sending a universe of love and hugs to you both and tummy tickles for the fur babies. Xx
Omg you did it!!!! I am so glad it is done!!!! I was freaked out by the prospect of it and I am so glad it is done and here you are to tell the tale!!!!!🎉
Oh well done glad that was not as bad as you thought it might be. Drink plenty to flush out those clots n fragments still left and it will help prevent infection too. All the best for your recovery xx
Nicely filmed / edited / shown, Colin. Doubtless it helped having had it done before - I dread to think how scared you were before the first time.I'm sure videos like yours will help others who have to go through stone removal procedures. Well done!
OMG Colin - that was hair-raising!! Well done you for both doing it and also your openness in all this will, I am sure, help others with the same problem. Sooo all gooooood now 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻🦋
Oh I'm so relieved for you that the kidney stone is finally out! I'm 51 now, had kidney stones when I was 5 and I remember the sharp pain as soon as I moved. I was given medicine so I'd be able to pee them out so they won't have been very big. But that pain is still a vivid memory.

Thank you for sharing that, did it help you that you filmed it and thank you for the very spot on camera work ha ha. I hope everything the healing goes well.
Thanks 🤩
So glad! You are now a doc, kinda.
You did well!
I just pulled mine out your right not to bad at all watched you before i did mine in shower , Thank you for video
Well done Colin, you’re a hero. I had three sessions of ultra sonic bombardment and peed a pile of sand after the last one. Thank god.
Well done! 👍🏻
I thought, nooooohh... He's not, not gonna show that. But you did, what a hero! Thanks for being so open, very interesting. Now I'm gonna brush up on my reading on how to prevent kidneystones.😑
Hope the ordeal is behind you.
Thanks for sharing, Colin. I'm sure it's helped people understand how this process works❤🇬🇧🇺🇲.
Well done, having had several cameras pushed up the old John Thomas into the bladder and kidneys I feel for you. Pissing glass was the only way I could describe the days afterwards. No stent for me, but I'm glad that removal went well for you. Hope the healing continues. 👍
Yeah, the pissing glass ain’t fun!
Yeah, the fragments bloody well hurt for an hour or more each time. I wasn’t expecting those and they panicked me a bit today!
🎉Glad you’re better. Thank you for sharing, this could help someone.
I hope so!
Nicely filmed / edited / shown, Colin. Doubtless it helped having had it done before - I dread to think how scared you were before the first time.I'm sure videos like yours will help others who have to go through stone removal procedures. Well done!
A great informative vid, Colin, Well done, you!.
Many thanks!
OMG Colin - that was hair-raising!! Well done you for both doing it and also your openness in all this will, I am sure, help others with the same problem. Sooo all gooooood now 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻🦋
Fingers crossed!
Yeah. Worst pain ever! ♥️
Thanks for the great video! I had my doctor take it out, and it was a pain level of about four of 10. But what a relief when the stent is out!
Well done you. You are so brave. I was so nervous for you. Hoping and praying everything else goes okay.
I hope so too!
Well done Colin… that will help so many others. Brave guy xx❤
That’s my hope 👍🏻
