  • In 2009 Bishop Skip Adams and the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York took the Church of the Good Shepherd in Binghamton, New York, expelled the congregation and sold the building to become an Islamic Awareness Center. Listen to the Kennedys share their experience of God's providence for their faithful congregation in the midst of these challenges.

Very sorry to hear your story; my heart sunk! But very encouraged and heartened to hear the victory God has brought out of persecution. Beyond the shadow of any doubt, the way the Monsignor came to help you is the Hand of God at work intervening at the hour of your crisis and need. God bless you both Matt & Anne!

I had learned this story before, having read about it on Stand Firm, and heard or read various pieces of it over the years since, but it was certainly nice to hear it from start to finish from those who lived through it. God is indeed merciful, and he was glorified by your firm and gracious commitment to his Gospel during the days of it being challenged.

People need to hear these stories. Very disheartening.
