Awesome video man. Really appreciate you doing this. Love to see similar content on other small aesthetic things you can do. Fans, sata cables, USB extensions, etc. I love what cable extensions can do for a build even as low as $500 for such a small buy in.
I've had the uphere kit for a year now, they're pretty great. I like how when I have all LED's off they match my glossy white fans, and with LED's on they reflect the colors beautifully. Over time they stiffen up, so using the cable combs to get the right curves until then is essential. Overall I highly recommend for a cheap way to make your build shine.
I've used Ensourced cables from Joey ever since you recommended them and him to me a couple of years ago. There's a premium cost, but oh so nice! I also use the modular PSU cables, not just extensions. I guess it's a vanity thing. I even have a set sitting here to go in my TT Level 20 HT build that I've been procrastinating about putting in. After seeing the LinkUp cables I might be making a modification to them before doing so.
I got the ones from uphere a while back. They definitely are a bit hard to manipulate and get to play nice but once you work them out to where you want them, I think they look fantastic.
After using every kit, I enjoy them all. I have yet to have any of the options listed fail in any build. In 38 builds, they all work, feel, and look just as good as the $100 custom kits.

Good video. I have used just about all of them Besides the linkup. My go to for my prebuilts is the AsiaHorse as I find them excellent to train. I custom sleeve my more intense builds.
Well your PSUs capacity doesn't matter, it's what power you're actually pulling. If, however, you are pulling all 860 watts, then it's probably better to go with a 16 AWG cable (slightly thicker) compared to 18 AWG. But even then, it's unlikely to cause problems, it'll only introduce a bit more resistance and heat loss as a result. However, this is only at max load, and it's unlikely that you are pulling max load 24/7 (crypto miners, looking at you), so again likely not a problem.
I had a white Asia horse set the cables kept popping out of the 24 pin I out them back in computer refused to boot tried the extensions on my GPU with my normal 24 pin and it worked fine I messed with them for a bit but without the 24 pin to match I ended up returning them and didn't bother getting another set
Thanks for doing stuff besides Case/CPU/GPU (appreciate those) reviews and testing. Looking to either buy Extensions or shell out $140 US for a new PSU, Guess I'll buy extensions this year hahaha.
IMO I like to have as few electrical connections as I can. So with that said I will either get a custom set or make my own that goes directly from the PSU to the device(s).
I got some Cable Mod extensions from Micro Center in black and red. Not a huge fan of the clear combs, but it was nice that they were at least included. I have ordered black cable combs to replace them with, but I am waiting to do other upgrades before I install them (Not taking the system down just for cable combs). Overall I am rather satisfied with my purchase, and would purchase them again.
Have the white set in a white build. They are solid for a white build, but if you look at the cables up close the colors may not be exactly the same between cables. Not something you can notice in a case with RGB blasting constantly.
I have a set of uphere extensions (white) and they are 16 gauge, pure white and look extremely good, I am almost OCD with cabling and they work well for me with a quite large Thermaltake P90 case
i got worried when i bought the linkup ones because ive heard horror stories of cheap cables not being the AWG they were supposed to be and frying systems. So i took the extra LinkUp cable i had and cut the sleeving off and they are indeed actually 18awg and can handle 600 watts. Linkup is the real deal for cheap cables.
Did bought the LinkUp cables in Orange & black for my son’s PC and they are really tough to bend to shape. Yes they are cheaper but i prefer the cablemods, way more easy to loop and bend in thight cases.
i am planning on get the LinkUp extension cable , i am a bit afraid of using them with my 3080ti i do not wanna put it on risk so my question is, are they completely safe and does it affect the performance at alll ?
They are tinned and UL rated can and take up to 1200 watts your 3080ti is no where near that at max 350 to 400, even if you had a RTX 4090. If your concerned get Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) Teflon or 16 awg tinned LOL.
I used EZDIY-FAB 300mm kit (32€ Amazon France.) Black and white with black plugs and combs. Kit had 24pin, 4+4eps, 2x8 and 2x6 pcie. Nylon feel sleeve with medium level of flexibility. Not good for tight turns but holds shape reasonably well. No idea wire size.
I've just used these too. They are hella stiff but can be forced into shape reasonably well and hold it afterwards, the combs fit tightly too. I've seen them on sale in both 16 and 18 gauge. I got 18s, and needed 2 packs because my GPU has 3 connectors and mobo has 2.
I'm losing my mind over 16 AWG from my PSU and the 18 AWG from the custom cables. I've read various forums where people answer in a way that they don't really answer anything. So can someone please help me? With a simple yes or no, I don't need a person telling me all about the use of AWG and what it does and what the future of it holds. Just YES or NO, Is there a problem if I use a 18 AWG cables if my PSU says 16 AWG?

Nice video. Now if you could measure voltage drop with each one, that would be perfect.
