    This is a very good video. Thank you. One word of caution for anyone watching this for guidance on 1290 (from 2018 onwards). Do not flax the plastic (as shown in the video) to get it out of the way to remove the tank. It is no longer like that shown and it WILL break.

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  3 года назад +1

      You are absolutely correct. The newer 1290 inner fairings are much more brittle than the older ones so be cautious how the tank comes in and out.

    I recently purchased a new 2020 1290 SAR. I went to install a set of heated grips and couldn't reach the plug-in. The only way I could get to it was to take the tank off. I couldn't have done it without this video. Thank you for posting it!

    Thank you very much for the video, it looks very clear. but I want to ask a question. do I have to remove the tank to change the clutch cable? or is there an easier way? Thanks a lot from Barcelona,

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  Год назад

      You will. That cable travels through the frame system and fishing it through with the fuel tank on is not particularly possible.

      @@RottweilerPerformance Thank you very much for your quick response. I figured I had to remove it.
      I had a small leak and I tried to repair it, but it has not been possible. So I cut it off, and bought a new one. Now I will have to disassemble the tank to install the new one. It doesn't look very difficult but I have little experience . Best regards from Barcelona and thanks again.

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  Год назад +1

      You'll probably need to take some things apart to get to the cable that releases the seat. Not sure what model you have, but anything is possible with tools and a blow torch.

    Hi. Do you know if cover fuel tank from 1190 Adventure fits to R version? Because mine is broken and I need that part and have a oportunity to buy it for 30% price of new one from KTM dealer, all I would have to do is just to paint to white colour. If You know maybe this I would be very greatful for your answer. Greetings!

  • @pdxrider9648
    @pdxrider9648 7 лет назад

    Thanks for the great video. Does the R model have a point where the tank mounts to the crash bars as well? I feel like there was something on the bottom.

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  7 лет назад

      No, they just sit on a rubber bumper. There is no attachment to ot other than sitting on it.

    • @pdxrider9648
      @pdxrider9648 7 лет назад

      Thank you. I did my Rottweiler intake on the 1090 over the weekend. My tank on the 1090 has a bolt on either side where it attaches to the crash bars. It is strange because the nut/ fitting actually slides down to connect when you screw the bolt into it from below.

    • @RottweilerPerformance
      @RottweilerPerformance  7 лет назад

      I think the rubber bumpers are just stuck in the slots where the fuel tank rests on them. They have bolts to hold them to the crash bars, but they should slide out of the slot on the tank and not have to be unbolted. We have never seen the fuel tank where it bolts to the crash bars.
