Dear Roland, you need to address this in firmware update: 1) enable fade in/out pre-loaded pictures. CUT is not enough cause it looks too jarring. 2) Enable fading when using A-bus buttons to switch between sources. Need these BADLY, thanks
I'm a Library Media Specialist and the district acquired this system. The problem is I have an Apple computer connected with HDMI 4. I can see the videos /pictures, but there's no audio. How can I set up the audio?
Is there something similar to this but with. Video effects suck like echo and delay that will reflect to the video , or is that some editing on my own to add the two for visual ? Also a video scrub effect will be awesome , what model has that ? Like scratching a video back and forth like you would with music except it’s video ?
we only have 1 camera so is there a way to reduce the number of inputs showing on the screen and or increase the size of the input we will be using? We have this switcher.

Nub alert 🚨 My vision for this device is to use it for live in person corporate events 1-2 cameras and 1-2 laptops etc with a dual projector set up on either side of the stage. As I have been doing my research it seems that some of these switches are geared more toward live stream versus in person. Can this device do both or is it strictly more for live stream or in person production. Also I see there is a monitor out and a Main Video Out but is there a way to record the main video out without a separate device. Can you use the USB to record an event or is the USB only utilized for still pictures as an input. Anything you can share is appreciated.

Does this encode 14 separate HDMI audio tracks? How does it do this if there are only 2 XLR, stereo line-in, 1/8" mike in, and 4 HDMI ports? Are you counting each of the 4 HDMI channels as a stereo audio source (8 channels); 1 Left line in, 1 Right line in, 2 XLR mike in, TRS stereo mike in (2 channels; 6 analog in total), for a total of 14 added in this manner? Can each level be adjusted individually, and will it be encoded as a 14 channel HDMI audio out for the recorder? Since there are only 5 level knobs, does this mean that only the levels of the analog inputs can be adjusted and the digital signals from the 4 HDMI inputs are simply passed through and encoded as a separate unprocessed stereo audio track on the output? I ask because the HDMI 2.0 spec supports up to 32 audio channels, with a sample frequency of up to 1,536 kHz. I am primarily interested in a device that encodes multichannel audio onto the HDMI output, allowing me to re-mix in post as needed.
Dear Roland, I am having an issue loading Still PNG images - I get a Read Error... anything I should eb aware of to make sure the V1hd+ reads Still PNG's? Anyone else run into this issue, loading their stills?
Can this switcher output multichannel audio such as 7.1 from the source? I have a BluRay player which outputs 7.1 and I want to retain the multichannel audio signal through the output into a Dolby unit to break it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have bought the VR 1HD a Month ago. I am using IT for record music in OBS. I AM satisfied. Al the new feature like chroma key , insert picture in picture ,OBS does IT all. IT also cropped the video etc . Because I like to record music for my radio, I rather have the shuffle bar for volume in the VR 1HD . I had to buy a splitter for the headphone to have two headphones connecties OR available, when using a monitor in the Line output. Must I change the XRL input to Line In by using the Menu??? Untill now IT didn't work as a Line input. Sorry for my English . I hope you understand my message. Is it possible to return the VR1HD less than two months of buying IT, and change IT with discount for this new one ?
I have a question, please. I have used this new switcher from Roland for my virtual studio (If i can say this) with this configuration - hdmi 1 laptop, hdmi 2 a video camera with greenscreen, hdmi 3 laptop, hdmi 4 another video camera with greenscreen. I used dsk on (greenscreen selected) and memory 1/5 to link hdmi 1 & hdmi 2 and memory 2/6 to link hdmi 3 & hdmi 4, and i have to press memory butons to cut in virtual studio. how can i find the dizolv (crossfade, mix) from memory 1/5 to memory 2/6? thx
We have audio coming in via RCA from our sound board. Its coming into our Roland V-1HD. When audio comes out of the Roland V-1HD, does it come out of HMDI? Or when you come in with RCA, is the only audio out option RCA (and not HMDI). We really want HDMI out for audio because the our is going into our YOLOLIV YoloBox.
I have the older Roland SDI version and would consider buying this unit if it had streaming built in like the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro. I'm not sure why manufacturers design inputs with HDMI input when the max run of most HDMI cable is about 25 feet. Please give me a couple of SDI inputs otherwise I have to run SDI to HDMI convertors and that looks messy.
I use Fiber HDMI cables in my Live Stream setup. All my cameras are HDMI out. I have 2 cables that are 200M or 667 Ft. each and a smaller one that is 100M. They cost a little bit more (200M was $169.99 USD) but for my setup they are worth it. They come in various sizes. One end of the cable is for the (Source) and the other is for the (Display) unit. (They are labeled to prevent confusion) They have no lag and are very rugged and reliable. They can be found on Ebay or Amazon etc. I hope this helps.
@@penrightenterprises4996 Fiber optic HDMI cables cost a lot more that HD-SDI cables. They are also prone to breakage if not handled carefully in the field.

What a disappointment! The equipment already has a high value, it was developed to simplify and avoid connected accessories, and this has no streaming output ????? Roland hit the ball this time! 
@@carlosmachado3176 I understand you're disappointed but this is a proper video mixer, with much more power and ease of use then the Atem minis who are streaming devices more than video mixers. Streaming is definitely the most requested feature right now but it's not the only scenario you want to use a video mixer in. If you Compare this to the Atem minis series you're wrong.
Strongly disagree! If the streaming feature is the most requested by professionals, then Roland lacked sensitivity to meet this product. Bearing in mind that this Roland product line has grown thanks to the simplicity of operation, a compact, transportable product, with an appeal for streaming output. The ATEM mini sins precisely for this lack.

I personally sold hundreds of Atem Mini( all three versions). I made the only two long youtube videos in italian about them. But I'm also in charge of Roland and I'm the guy who sells more Roland mixers in Italy.nSo I know both products VERY WELL. You have no idea how many video streaming sets I'm selling every day, for all kind of purposes. Who bought Roland mixers with capture cards and encoders is thanking me all the time for the versatility and ease of use. A couple of more cables. Ok! They can work with streaming for online only events but also during events with screens, video walls,projectors. With no problems. The audio routing is superior, you don't need a long process to record Macros like you do with BMD because you can store presets in a few seconds in the machine and recall them on the go directly in the board to have complicated video layers recalled with a press of a button. You pay more? A bit, yes. But your life is so darn easier
Hi, is it possible to swap the PiP (Change big and small picture) by pressing one button? I suggested this already for the VR-4HD "key" button. This function is often used during chart-presentation with Pip ( the important contant should be big ). Of course you can do this in two steps but then the picture will be quite "restless" Best regards from Germany! Niels

The audio will come out of the HDMI if you have nothing connected to the L&R audio output port.
