NOTES: - SWAP from DLSS/DLAA + Frame Gen to TSR + Frame Gen As of Patch 1.0.3 I started to have more weird crashes, after some research I found that a lot of people are having problems with DLSS/DLAA + FSR 3 Frame Generation. Swapping to TSR + FSR 3 Frame Generation seems to have stopped these crashes for me and the game has also been more visually consistent and had a more stable frame rate. Maybe it'll work for you too. OLDER NOTES: - TURN OFF RUN AS ADMIN: Currently with Patch 1.01 Running as Administrator seems to get you a "Stalker 2 is attempting to launch with optional parameters" screen and the game won't launch properly. - As of Patch 1.0.1 - My game actually seems to be more stable (less crashes) without using the engine tweak mod I was using (at least for me, results may vary), May have lost some small amount of visual clarity without the mod enabled but for now I think I'll not be using performance mods, and will only do so again if/when I encounter problems again. (EDIT): As of Patch 1.0.3 I'm currently using the Engine Tweak Mod again, I like the extra visual clarity and it seems to be working fine so far with this patch.
NO Mods or Tweak and decide to try something different what i did is i turn on FSR3 and DLSS - Performance - i get good perfomance in my game and the game looks good here my settings are like this i5 10600kf - RTX 3060 12gb - FPS 72 to 144 ( i dont know if this is part of the settings i have or not but the game used 21gb of Rams so careful and remember you may need to tweak more the game for me this settings work really good) 1080p Medium graphics Textures details - high (you choose high or lower) antialiasing - off Reflextion - low DLSS - Performance FSR 3 - Enable
Yea but how does that input lag feel? Frame gen for me, 3060 12gb, Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB ram with frame gen ill get 100 FPS, but at the cost of *very* noticeable input lag
I thought i was doomed because im on a rtx 2060Super with an i7 8700k, 32 gb of ram. I run the game with a mix of epic and only a few medium. (Texture high). I play on 1440p dlss balance to help my 8gb vram lol with fsr frame gen and i get 55 to 75 in town area, 75 to 95 everywhere else, locked at 120fps on a vrr hdr tv. Honestly latency isnt so bad even with a mouse. Overall my experience is good even with aging hardware, which i am relieved. Can't wait to see more interesting updates for the game.

Setting the hair to medium did the trick for me :) Went from 30-40 fps in settlements to 50-60. The .ini tweak for nexus mode actually made it worse even when I followed the comments.
The truth is while these can improve the eprformance marginslly, the elephant in the room is just UE5: Lumen, nanite specifically and global illumination. The way the engine handles shading is just HW expensive. Edit: couple of bandaids I found editing engine.ini: r.vrs.enable=0 from 1. It seems VRS (variable rate shading) is on by default, unclear whether this is implemented poorly but I noticed an upgrade to visual stability immediately. R.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.15 to 0.4. I've found this also helps prevent much of the ghosting in motion but can still introduce blurring. Tweak this between said values. I recommend 0.2 with r.TemporalAAsamples to 4.
These sound like some interesting tweaks, out of curiosity, do you know a good place to learn engine.ini parameters? I'm thinking of trying a few visual tweaks
Everything works fine up until the menu, but when I start a new game, the screen opens step by step, the sound cuts in and out, and pressing ESC to return to the menu becomes almost impossible. I have a computer with 128 GB of RAM. I’ve disabled "Run as Administrator," adjusted the settings, configured the Nvidia settings, and even lowered the resolution to 1280x720, but it’s still the same. Nothing changes, and I’m on the verge of losing my mind. Could you please help? AMD Ryzen 9 7900 X Nvdia 3070 TI 128 GB RAM M2 2TB Ultra High Writer SSD WTF?
I'm running an RTX 4080 with a Ryzen 5 7600X at 1440P and this game was running like a$$. I've never thought of setting the priority to High in task manager before, for any games I play, this seemed to really fix, so thanks for that recommendation. Too bad you have to do it each time you launch, but hey, it's worth it. Games runs smooth as butter for me now at High settings with DLSS fame gen on.
might give it a try, running 1440p ultrawide on 4080 and 5600x and with DLSS quality and FG it runs pretty well but little stuttery and some areas run poorly what bothers me more though is the crashing from what I've read it seems to be related to DLSS and FG but with DLSS+FSR it getls half the fps and feels even worse
Thanks for your work and insight, but "back in the day" advice like your's typically came with upfront cautions: make these changer one at a time ONLY, and don't mess with these if you aren't experienced. I came to my senses after futzing with changing task Mgr priority. Don't won't to wind up somewhere btwn lost and found. I'll wait a bit more. Thanks again!
interesting, for me running as admin and the cpu priority tweak both seemed to make things run slightly smoother for me, although both may have been placebo on my end. It's weird how different things work or break things for people. New patch looks to have fixed lots of stuff so hopefully this won't be an issue anymore
I have constant 100% cpu i5 10th gen, usage while my gpu 1660ti is just at 5% use... How do I save my cpu use... My cpu is making sounds as if it is launching a shuttle to space at low settings !!! Should I even bother playing this game at all ??? Need help
4070 super here, getting horrible input lag with V sync on. Changing settings from epic to low makes no difference. For now I have to choose between horrible screen tearing or horrible gameplay. Stalker 2 V sync is problematic and I’m pretty sure it’s not a matter of raw performance.
I found turning on FSR Frame Generation caused my game to crash ALL THE TIME. Turning it off fixed that for me. Huge bummer but just fyi. My cousin had the same issue. Then again, I am using an i9 10850k and a 2070, so I have no AMD products.
I'm using a Nexus mod called "Optimization Essentials - Stutter Performance Latency Fixed (v2.0 released)" - This Mod is a Game Changer !! I've tried a couple of other "optimization" mods but this one actually Works! My rig is slightly below specs. I have a Ryzen 5 1600, 16 gb ddr5 with a AMD RX 580 with 8 gb of dedicated ddr5 video ram. Monitor is a 144 hertz capped at 1920 x 1080p. Running off a gen 3 SSD. Before the mod I could use mostly low settings struggling to keep 30 fps. Especially outdoors with thunderstorms around I'd have a lot of freezing and stuttering making my fps 5 or 10. Now according to my AMD software FPS counter using the #7 Ultra Performance = FPS+++ I get an average of 72 FPS and that's with mostly medium settings and frame generation ON which I never kept on before as my RX 580 don't work well with it. Not sure if it's actually doing anything. I have Only used the mods settings and Not manually set anything in the in game settings. Changing things seems to break the mod so don't do it. This mod has many options, you can always try another one.
@@Elsinnombre-ez5dn +1 both patches so far haven't done anything for performance, I'm going to assume they will just continue to give us silly troubleshooting guides & nothing will fix, welcome to UE5
My problem is the game just looks like it is running at 60 fps even though I have it set to 240 cap. I have all settings turned all the way up yet I still have rendering issues, trees loading in when I’m like 300-400 feet away and some trees are 2D until about 50 feet away. My PC doesn’t struggle to run the game at all, I think it’s actually limiting itself, unless the game is actually designed to be capped at 60 fps?
I would say it's worth trying to cap it at 60 fps. I tried other caps but 60 fps was by far the smoothest feeling experience, at least for me. I think there is frame time stutter between frames and locking at 60 fps smooths the stutter out the most maybe.
My fps was fine... until today's update and its absolute trash now. I have an rtx 4070 i7 13th gen and 32 gb ram. Every other game I run ultra no problem but Stalker 2 is the first game that not only started out bad... but is progressively getting worse with every patch.
