Very good info here. Also when it’s affordable and convenient, always pick the motorcycle specific brands for your oils and chemicals. These are the same companies that give back to the moto community by sponsoring riders, races events etc. Good video thanks for sharing! 👍

Bel Ray Waterproof Grease! Midwest riders love it, it’s great for all types of seasonal riding. I keep an abundance stocked in my Parts Department. 🤙

I like these type of videos. You have hit on a very good topic. I don't know if you have done this video already. How about shop tools? Beside the basics of rratchets and wrenches.

Mostly there I think - few different brands but closer than I thought to the pro's bench. Now, if only I can figure out how and when to use it 😀Thanks for the video.

I have been using Rotella oil for 20 years on all my street and dirt bikes and have never had any oil related failures. It's way cheaper than the motorcycle specific brand oils.

1st shop I have seen not mention using environmentally safe Simple Green.
It is safe for O-rings, great for cleaning brake dust off of sportbike brake calipers,.. degreasing, cleaning drive chains before re-lubing,...
I like using it diluted with water per instructions.

Jay also look into reusable zip ties they look a lot like factory hardware and work great to hold things and reusability makes them last forever 👍🏻

      All zip ties are reusable.
But depending on the use they can be ackward to pull the zip tie's end & push the little tab away from contacting the tie length.
Been re-using over 50% of ties for decades.

Hi Jay, how much is shelf life of 2 stroke oil? I found 5 liters completely unopened in the garage, but it must be 10 years old. Thanks in advance

I've watched you make a couple of these videos over the years, with your vast experience I can't believe I've never seen Simple Green on your recommendations? Doesn't cause whiting of special coatings, strong yet non corrosive. Hands down best detergent easily found and bulk quantities are available.
001 Steel wool, when red/gray scotch brite is too abrasive and you want to polish the surface (rims/spoke/exhaust)
I'd also love to see a proper application of chain wax by ANYONE on the internet. Warm your chain up then use chain wax being cold from the can will get sucked inside those hard to reach areas. Anyone who recommends WD40 for anything but cleaning doesn't understand how hydrostatic WD40 actually is. Spray some nails with WD40, let dry then put them in water and drain. They'll rust almost instantly. Stop using WD40 on your bikes guys.
