She’s a real veteran. She was at Laguna Seca two weeks ago racing sports cars. She’s just like any other racer trying to maintain a career. There’s great rides and then there are routine rides. The routine rides are the overwhelming majority but she’s making a living and is a good investment for sponsors. Not her first big wreck either. Had a horrible wreck at Road America during the Champ Car days.
that was a scary wreck way back in the dayand she said she just had a skinned up knee.she went for a tumble and tore up the car
She's never been in the top ten and she wrecks almost every race lol she doesn't belong in a car
it's good that she's the only female in a track outnumbered by 32 men, but she was the first one out of the race, finished 33rd.

Katherine Legge could have had a good Indycar career if she'd had more than one full time season. She was improving by the end of her 2012 year, there just wasn't the funding for another. Great to see her back here, and she managed to outqualify all her team mates. Unfortunate that the RLL cars are so bad this year.
Also, a very unfortunate title given the repairs that had to be done to the barrier after the crash...
She’s beautiful, fast and got that British accent. Wow. Hope for the best for her. All racers make mistakes.

For many of us, LEGGE made our day, just doing this interview. What a fine person she seems to be. My first reaction to the wreck was someone checked up in the racing line. NO FAULT, Legge
Everybody else in that line managed to not obliterate the car in front of them.
Why was she not told on her radio to slow down? I guess she was not found at fault of the incident. We can only assume what we see happened is her fault. But I'm sure there is more to it than that. 🤔

Breaking barriers? Really?! Enough already! Women have been racing at Indy for nearly 50 years! No race team would ever turn away a fast driver of any gender. There have been no barriers to women in racing for a very long time.

I never again want to hear how women are better drivers than men, out of 33 drivers, Katherine Legge, the only female, was the first one out of the race, similar to Danica Patrick's last Indy 500!
Celebrating a woman who has been racing for a long while (including being in the Indy 500)and others have been doing the same. You make it sound like she is the first woman to be in the Indy 500, which is not even close to the truth. Your big headline could have been beating her 3 full time teammates as she struggled to make the field, which in and of itself is an incredible story to cover. But no. You just want to point out she is a woman. This is shallow

You’re quite wrong. Danica is one of the worst of the women drivers. Legge is a better driver and has been around forever, and Simona is better than both of them.
We don’t have to tear down one woman to lift up another. Legge has been a barrier breaker her whole career, with success in multiple series. Danica was to most competitive Rahal/Letterman car for multiple years at the 500 and nearly won the race. She also won in Japan which was about as barrier breaking as it gets.
Let’s celebrate that the sport is becoming more diverse because obviously the more people are competing, the more countries that care about the sport, the better for the series and more broadly the world.
@@adamland7672 that’s not what I’m doing. I support most women in racing. Danica was not talented. Only good at ovals where car is most important. Now she’s on TV talking F1 has no idea what she’s talking about. She’s anti feminism. She used sex appeal to get sponsorship and kept seats for herself that she had no talent to be in. Simona is the true female elite driver. Not Danica.

Yall didn't mention how shes also breaking other drivers bodies because shes under qualified to be driving what she is.... She failed to slow down under a yellow in an oval and proceeded to rear end another driver and not only put him in the hospital but has taken him out of the sport for a year...... but ya "shes breaking" somthing smmfh
Bobby Unser once said of women drivers if there are good, they will stay in their lane out of the way so the men can drive.

She's a testament to the safety of motorsports today. If ur familiar w her at all u know her "career" is full of massive crashes. She's never sit in a race car she didn't like to wreck. She'll most likely crash out Sunday, probably in hella fashion. The rough part is the innocent drivers getting caught up in her mess. They enter turn 1 pushing 240mph, and 1/3rd of the field watches the other 16 races on tv so most haven't even sit in an IndyCar this year. The guy she drove thru broke his back, so he's obviously out of the race. She breaks a lot more than the alleged "barriers"
