He has a mixture of southern rock, soul, bluegrass, and country rolled up into one. When he sings, it's effortless & his voice touches my soul. The man is real. I've been hooked from the first time I heard him sing. The song was "Fire Away". He's very humble & always seems to feel he's undeserving of praise or when it comes to receiving & accepting awards. Congratulations! To Chris! You'll always be #1 for me.

Haven't tuned in to country for a hot minute, but with Garth and Dolly hosting the CMA'S, I decided to give it a look-see. I have a lot of friends who don't consider today's country music REAL music, but me? I came away with a bunch of new songs that won't let go of my ears, including Jelly Roll's "Lost Cause", the song by The War And Treaty that EARNED the standing ovation it got; "Small Town Women" (I hope that's the right title), "Wait In The Truck," and Dolly's new one, "World On Fire."
My favorite 2 performances was jelly roll & Laney wilson save me, then the boss that laney is she goes from one stage to another, throws off her coat & hat lites the stage up with grease! that was one hell of a performance, boss, country girl rocking the country world.
I have boycotted country award shows since they have become more of a rap event but did so this year because of Dolly. So refreshing from havingUnderwood! Nice that Chris won as he deserved! Also refreshing to see how many of the men dressed up versus the t shirt or rap look.
Garth isn’t as great as everyone thinks he is. You can’t download any of his songs because he has such tight control of his music (re: profits) which is b.s. imo.
