      The cleaning thing is irritating. I do the same thing with an electric leaf blower in the garage and I'm done in 25 seconds. Watching him mess with it for untold hours is rediculous.

    • @adityavisu
      @adityavisu 3 года назад +16

      @@robertmorrison107 yes it may irritate you but it is an idea that no other youtuber entertained as far as I know. Also indirectly he is giving us lessons on how to clean dirty PCs with different levels of dirtiness. So yeah it is original and informative at the same time to those who need PC cleaning knowledge. And also cleaning and repasting of thermal paste in certain components like CPU and Chipset in Mobo and along with GPU Die helps to improve the performance. That is why he is taking a lot of time.

      @@adityavisu it reminds me of the navy giving people a toothbrush to scrub the hull. It may make for a longer more profitable video so in the end...the engineer in me screams you are using the wrong tool for the job but more money may be the right tool for him and you certainly are standing up for him with your toothbrush and endless hours.

    • @adityavisu
      @adityavisu 3 года назад +4

      @@robertmorrison107 Regarding the naval experience of hull cleaning using toothbrush is something I cannot say. Yes he may have profits in the end for a longer video but also not all of us are able to afford the tools used and he kinda gave a way out using some tools like cloth. Yeah, you feel like he is taking a lot of time and I respect your opinion. But I think somethings like PC cleaning should be done taking a lot of time as some parts are quite delicate. Or else in short if we kinda chicken due to fear of damage of parts a professional can do it but then again some people will bring cost.
      Any further opinion from your viewpoint will be appreciated.

      @@adityavisu an electric leaf blower is standard in most US homes and can be purchased for under 50 dollars. It won't get the pc as clean as he gets it, it will get 95% off. It is almost instant, hit the radiators and try not to over spin the fans as you could cause bearing damage. Basically, why spend hours if you can be back to 100% functionality in 30 seconds with a tool we almost all have. I get it, it wouldn't be a good video and you wouldn't get a dramatic before and after

      To be clear to anyone, never use brake "fluid" to clean your pc. Brake "parts cleaner" is what he uses. Most brake parts cleaner that i use (im an auto technician) are very good at cleaning and dry instantly. So I'd assume it is pretty safe in terms if cleaning computer components. Some of them however are known to discolor plastic parts and will dry out rubber components so be aware of what and where you are using it on. Imo using it on a bare pcb is perfectly fine. Also keep in mind most all brake parts cleaner is extremely flammable, so be extra careful around parts that have been on recently and have parts like capacitors and batteries on them.

    I've had my eye on the 500DX before. I'm still rocking a Corsair Air 540 and it has served me well, but sometimes I feel like something new and the 500DX does look like a very nice case. Maybe when I finally get my hands on a 3080 I'll get the 500DX as a bonus treat.

    Alright, you've convinced me that I need a new case and this is the one! Mine is super old, has poor airflow, and may have required a pair of pliers to the metal a few times to make everything fit... Love the videos! Quite inspiring 🤘

    maybe a stupid question. if you are going further with this, why not investing in an cleaning station like they use in workshops. you can do it inside and usre a special brush with constant water flow and even use some additives for even easier grime removal.

    I really enjoy this series! I have a suggestion: It will be cool to tell us a little backstory of the placement of the system (floor, desk etc.) and in what environment the system was operated to be so nasty :)

      That seems like smoker dust. Orange, sticky dust is usually smoker dust, placement doesn't matter.

    the bequiet case is actually amazing, i bought one purely for the 3 140mm fans and the big mesh front, the air flow is sooo good. bequiet suggested to leave the fans where they are for the best air flow but as i was installing a 240mm AIO, i put 2 of the fans as front intake and i grabbed a bequiet 240mm AIO (which is also amazing) top mounted. the AIO actually has the pump outside of the heat sink meaning it will not get air bubbles in it and sound like a fish tank (like my 360mm cooler master did). really impressed with bequiet gear would suggest to any one. thier top range fans are probs 2nd to none in terms of noise and air flow, the only things that come close is Noctua but they also cost almost twice as much as bequiet for very similar performance.
