  • Let's open up a non functioning Super Simon and find out what's inside and get it back up and running. Super Simon was released in 1979 by Milton Bradley and it allows two players to battle Simon head to head. At the end of the game, Simon determines who wins. A nice addition to the original game of Simon making a fun game for two players.

    I have an OG Simon CIB in Fair/Good shape
    I can't say I ever remember seeing this thing before. makes you think of Close Encounters

    You should pull one side of the diode when confirming a diagnosis. They can appear shorted when they're not.

      Yep you're absolutely right man. I did say that in the video that you need to test them off the board. But off film after I got done filming, I did take the diodes off and they both passed, they both were perfectly fine. Still trying to figure out what fried the chip. I'm beginning to think now that somebody put the D batteries in backwards.

      @@RetrogamerGenX It might have just failed from age. Though it is true there is a lot of surviving 80s tech. The most common failure is caps. Even a lot of 70s tech is working too. Early 70s stuff seems to have a high failure rate.
      Are you going to leave the bulbs in it?

      @@tarstarkusz Could be age, but man, how fried that chip was.. IDK.. Something crazy happened.
      Yeah, not converting to led. I have new incandescent e10 bulbs 2.5 volters on the way too.👍👍
