seems fairly trivial. not sure how this would cause confusion. if the ip addresses are in the same network, then they will be sent out (not immediately dropped for no default gateway or network mismatch) since the traffic isn't tagged, it doesn't matter which VLANs you're using. if the traffic was tagged, however, then this would not be the case. but the connection between the switches isn't a trunk, so all of this traffic is untagged
