  • This lesson is an intro to inverse functions and has a step-by-step way to solve them in a straightforward way. We also graph the functions and don't adhere to the major rules in the books, doing it our own way. YAY MATH, boo.

    I have my final exam in two days and I'm so nervous, but I feel so much better after watching your videos! I have been watching your videos for such a long time now for brushing up before tests and quizzes and I feel that having a fun teacher like you really gets me interested in math and that I learn and understand so much better with you rather than my teachers at school. Thank you for being such a great teacher, I have a great time being part of your class:)

    omg.. your so awesome
    my math teacher don't know how to teach us
    he just choose the few questions from the text book and teach
    he doesn't clearly teach us how to slove the questions
    but when i finished this video
    i clearly understand what is inverse functions and how to slove the inverse function
    thank you very much :)

    I just really want to thank you for posting this. My pre-cal teacher doesn't really explain. She gives us tenmarks and worksheets and expects us to understand it for the nine weeks tests. You really explain it well and I enjoyed it. Thank you so much.

    Great piece, spirited and to the point. One thing your students should know about inverses, they are used in design, engineering and manufacturing. They help us make wonderful and absolutely symmetrical objects, also useful for analyzing objects and forces, retracing, for instances, or forensics. We humans barely lived without them, their usefulness and value. Keep up the wonderful job

    In school a lot of kids questioned the relevance of algebra. They asked "when am I ever going to need this?" I didn't ask that because I liked math but after 20 years I never needed to use it and I forgot it. So here I am learning it all over again because now I need it.

    I remember, few days ago I taught my students this topic including composite functions however I don't multiply x and (y-3)/5 with 5. If me,I simply bring 5 to the other side so from division, it s converted to multiplication.
    So.. 5x = y-3.
    y = 5x+3
    This way is good too, Mathematics has so many ways of solution but in the end you get the same answer. I am happy because my students started liking additional mathematics lol.

    i wish our math teacher could be just like you, his so fast at teaching and the only ones who can catch up to him are 3 of my classmates who are great at math.
    this is basically us in math;
    Teacher: okay so you do this.. and this.. and that... and then add this to that... and there. Does anyone have any questions? No?okay. moving on to the nest lesson.
    Us: No, no, no, no wait how did you get 3??!
    Mathematician classmates: Wow. that was easy.
    :/
    your videos are my only hope. but I hope that our teacher wont give us a test that includes items that we didnt study

But your classes are limpid and clear, I love them. "Y" is a function of "X". Translation: the value of "Y" depends on the value of "X"
    Please watch my video entitled: "Inverse LinearRatios/Fractions theorem" and you will discover that if a function is of the form: y= (Ax+B) / (Cx+D), the inverse function is y= (-Dx+B) / (Cx-A).

    This is one of the worst display of academics I have ever seen at any level. You actually have students who are engaged and curious behind the mystery and wonders that lie in the logic of math, and you tell them "You know many times, especially for students and stuff, you don't really need to know the reasons behind everything..." . Nothing in math just magically works, it can be explained, tested, and proven. Your responsibility as an educator is to be 100% honest and transparent with your students.
    You should seriously consider a new career because teachers like yourself are the reason kids end up hating math.
