- It’s pain to buy an expensive bottle of wine. You can’t help but wonder, ‘What if it’s not worth the money?’ We’ll solve that problem right away! All these wines are from chosen, by perfect blind tasting, among hundreds of wines! Here are the best high-end wines you can buy without the headaches!

The production of this video was possible due to a dozen of Korean importers funding and supporting this project. I can't even count the meetings I've had with all the importers, to make this project a thing. So dozens of importers submitted hundreds of wines for the project. And as we've said many times in the video, the judges of those wines, Peter and I, were completely oblivious as to what they were. That was the whole point of this project. Every individual bottle were concealed with paper bags during the tasting, so we couldn't possibly guess what they were beforehand. It was, in my words, a 'perfect blind tasting'. Therefore, importers couldn't just send any wines to promote them as they want. they sent their best wines, and we didn't know anything about it until we tasted them. That's how the whole thing was done. Of course, with dozens of importers, some of them sent a lot of wines and some of them just a few. The deal was like this: importers with a lof of wine selected during tasting would have to provide more supports to the production of our content, and vice-versa. When none of their wines were selected, the importers weren't charged anything. Not even an entry fee. It was completely free. So in summary, each importer had a choice as to participate in this project and how many wines to submit, but nothing else. We did our tasting completely blind, but importers were promised to give supports proportional to the number of wines selected. That was the behind the scene of all this. So with those 52 wines selected, I can be sure to say we've chosen them without prejudice. So all the wines selected, I'll be bringing them wherever I go, drinking them with all the wonderful foods around the world. You'll be able to watch that in my channel, since I'll be filming all of it!~

Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions in the comments:
1. The price difference between USA and South Korea reflects the average, real-life retail values. This is not just a simple calculation based on the won-dollar exchange rate. Market prices are heavily influenced by the economy of scale, and the gap often widens as the price range goes up in case of wine. Because of this, when purchasing very, very expensive wine from abroad in Korea, it is entirely possible to fly there yourself and actually save money.
2. Many people have been wondering what the "paid sponsorship" mark means in the video. I've written about it in detail in the description box.
3. All the wines were chosen by perfect blind tasting, by Peter and me. We've judged the wines solely on the price and quality.

규모의 경제로 차이가 가속화 된다는 말씀이 무엇인지는 모르겠으나 기본적으로 이 채널에서 하던 말들이 "돈값"이니 그냥 그대로 평가하는게 맞다고 보네요 굳이 이렇게 기만적 달러 변환으로 피터에게 설명하고서 평가한다면 그건 좀 기존의 공정한 평가에 대한 신뢰도 또한 떨어진다고 봅니다. 경제 규모니 가격의 차이니 뭐니가 중요한게 아니라 그냥 와인이 그 돈값을 하는지가 이 채널에서의 가격과 와인에 대한 평가 아니었나요? 이건 아무리봐도 수입사측만을 위한 조치 밖에 안되보이네요
이 채널의 장점은 전세계 탑급의 전문가분들이 마치 동네 할아버지나 큰 형 같은 친근한 느낌으로 와인에 대해 얘기해주고 알려준다는 점인거 같아요.

I think the biggest draw your channel has for ordinary people like me is that you come across as genuinely nice and affable persons. I used to think (and still do) that a lot of the people involved in the wine industry are snobs and high-browed although this channel is starting to convince me otherwise. Your review of the La Crema Monterey Pinot Noir intrigued me so I picked up a couple of bottles. It was only $17 US. It's a very enjoyable wine. I can't afford 10 cases though! Great video.

Nr.1188 the Brunello one. I've had so many different vintages of that one, all lovely. Still have one from 2016 which I do and don't want to open. It's my "schrodinger bottle".

I tasted a bottle of the Grant Burge, Hillcot Barossa Merlot 2020 last night.. then I tasted a bottle of Yalumba Barossa Shiraz/Cab 2019. The hangover was full bodied and intense with a long finish.

I would love for you to do a tasting on sine Qua non. I am doubting the quality of these wines. I think it was made into a cult wine but may not deserve it. Or maybe it requires 10 years aging to bring out its best qualities. Would love to see you guys taste a Syrah and a Grenache

10만원대 추천으로 언급하신 아마로네는 현재 국내에 들어와있는 물량이 매우 많고, 판매처도 내가 아는 것만 해도 롯데마트 신세계백화점 이마트 등 많을 뿐 아니라, 국내가격도 언급하신 것보다 훨씬 싸게 형성되어 있으며(6만원대임) 대부분 2015빈이라서, 나 혼자 역~시 안 팔렸구만 아무때나 한 병 가져가야지 하면서 개좋아하고 있었는데!! 와인킹 때문에 망했습니다.
저도 지난주인가 추천와인중 영상가나 시중가보다 저렴하게 사먹는게 있었는데 망했다 싶었죠 분명 앞자리가 2개는 바뀔 느낌이;;
@@aaa-yo 솔직히 처음엔 국내 최저가 아마로네라서 집은건데, 도대체 왜 싼거지 저도 모르겠더라구요. 나라셀라에서 수요예측을 잘못한 게 아닌가 싶어요. 이제 최저가 아마로네 신세를 벗어나 최고가 아마로네가 될 수도 있겠네요.ㅋㅋ
그런것들이있더라구요 같은 아마로네중 토마시가 빈은 기억이 가물한데 17이였던걸로... 보통 샵에서 10 할인가 8~9인데 동네서 지역상품권적용시 5.2인가 파는데 물량이 계속나오더라구요ㅎ

I always say that to people when I serve them bella glos. This is very good wine, but don't be expecting pinot noir. It drinks like a decent full bodied cab. I actually prefer it to standard Caymus which is well overpriced now. So yes, that's my guess too!

For what its worth (and you touched on this in the pinned comment), Smith and Hook is more in the $20-25 range in California.. which makes it more of a value buy here.
This is one of my go to wines to bring to dinners and it is regularly under $20! (here in TX). The Trivento Malbec they had in an earlier video is also great and usually $8. We're spoiled in the states with our wine prices.
