What I do not understand: Why is there not a star wars game with an open world, that lets me scavenge and build my own ship from scraps? I could go on about a character editor, different alien races and different backstories/starting points. Or trading and smuggling. I have played the X game series a lot and those guys know, what a great space game is, but since your video is about the design, I guess modern games all look great but the new star wars game totally misses out on making the desing-philosophy part of the gameplay because especially in star wars, the "kitbashing" method stands out, especially for ships and vehicles on planets like Tatooine, where stuff is literally put together from other stuff. The customisations on Hans Falcon just being one example on ship customisation being a thing in Star Wars that exceeds paintjobs or changing turrets.
That's a really good point and I know I've been dying for a great open world star wars game. I gotta admit as well that swtor wasn't half bad but I need another Kotor mixed with something like Jedi Knight Academy and og Battlefront there needs to be new great star wars games.
You've mixed two visual eras in your ship by putting a prequel era cockpit on top of the OT hull. Why? And the way you've placed that cockpit nullifies its greatest advantage: and excellent visibility. Also, why would you give it one large engine and two smaller ones? Just go with two medium-sized ones.
My theory with the cockpit being a prequel era is that this cockpit is mainly only featured on Jedi Starfighters, this being a newer more large version of those ships. Also this is sort of a blend of the two technologies, the standard Tie Fighter is not more advanced than a Jefi Starfighter, its cheaper and mass producible. So my idea was to create a “higher class” of tie fighter. As for three engines I just think they look cool lol
I mean two thrusters runs the issue (if you're using them for thrust vectoring) of one dying and then you can't use either engine. At least with 3 you can shut the 2 side or 1 center and still retain reduced thrust or steering thrust depending on which goes down. Not that star wars ever cares about functionality
both giger and grey expand beyond common consciousness. great reference!

@@skilllanoodle Ouu damn, Jedi Academy had so extremely great swordfighting mechancs. Easily in the top 3 of best SW games ever.
@@sikliztailbunch for real, I'm surprised they haven't done something similar since never got the same feeling from any other Star Wars game.
