We know next to nothing about them.
The Collector, it´s certainly a possiblity that Adar was one of the proto-orcs. But it would show again that the show runners don´t really know a lot about Tolkien´s lore. Tolkien has retracted this origins story of the orcs many times before he died.He detected too many flaws in this theory. And he never came up with a totally convincing explanation for the existence of orcs. I think that he favored the idea that Morgoth tried to create intelligent life, but he botched it, and the results of his project were orcs. But for some reason fans always gravitate towards the idea that Morgoth corrupted elves who eventually became orcs. I believe that according to Amazon Adar may have been indeed subjected to Morgoth´s tortures, and that is the reason why the orcs feel a connection with Adar, which is elvish for "father". It would also explain why Adar hated Morgoth and still hates Sauron. And he feels protective of his orcs, because their ancestors have been elves like him. This is not really compatible with Tolkien´s views about orcs, but it would actually be a cool story line!
@@sabineb.5616 Wrong. Tolkien didn't "retract" anything. He had a habit of writing down notes while contemplating and re-contemplating previous ideas.....which doesn't at all equate to "he retracted the idea". By your logic the entire Silmarillion is null and void...and fans gravitate to the idea that Orcs are Elves BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES SENSE GIVEN ACTUAL CANON.
I believe that the Stranger fallen from the stars in no other than Tom Bombadil (who is really one of the Valar; - he held the one ring with no consequences and laught) that will lead some Hairfoots to a place currently known as the Shire.
@@brick_mania2372 they are setting up all major characters that was in the fellowship of the ring: elrond, galadriel, elendil, isildur, witchking… i remember something from one of the books that gandalf is connected somekind of flame or fire. And they are setting up a really strong connection with the hobbits, which gandalf has. and he is always in that gray cloth… and mithrandir (gandalf’s elf name) means wonderer in gray. Even his face looks the same to ian mckellen… so make your point now about bombadil..
@@zalaniro4977 , you are absolutely right! Meteor Man must definitely be Gandalf. He certainly looks like a younger version of Ian McKellen, and one of the first words he says in the hobbit language, is "friend". This is supposedly meant to remind us of Gandalf, when he tried to find out the code word which opens the gate of Moria. The correct word was "mellon", which is the elvish word for "friend". And the naked Meteor Man looks very much like Gandalf when he came back to Middle Earth naked and confused after he had temporarily been dead after he had vanquished the balrog. Maybe he fell through a space-time wormhole which had opened up because of the intense fight against the balrog and he landed near the hobbit camp and in the Second Age. The fiery stuff was not a meteor but a few pieces of the balrog, who is a fire demon 😉 When Gandalf the White tells Aragorn Gimly and Legolas what had happened to him, he actually says that he had fallen out of time and space and that he had wandered around in strange places for eons. Obviously I have no idea if ROP will spin it like that.
@@sabineb.5616 great theory, but i dont think lotr will go into timetravel like this, although it already happened in the movies as you said. I think its either the ending/beginning of the 2nd/3rd age, or amazon is just lazy writer. But this guy is 100% not tom bombadill lol
@@eerohughes im not really sure its probably some sort of gandalf 2.0 sent by the valar to help earth. if its actually gandalf they are really trowing the lore out of the window
I actually enjoyed this episode. They didn't mess up the lore too horribly or anything. Numenor looked stunning, and finally there was some character development.
Can you explain, where you see character development? (Like actually asking curious). Because I don't see some. Galadriel has still this kind of childish, wannabe strong mentality.
Really really really wish they had bought the 1st age rights or at least the rights to mention it. And how is it that the south lands have been overrun and their king knows it but no one else does. Gal doesn’t even seem that surprised that what she had been searching for for centuries was happening.
Why did they kill all the elves who were quite clearly not keen on fighting back and would have been easier to keep as prisoners / slaves, but kept the one elf alive who was killing the most of them and creating all of the issues?
Love your reviews!!! The series feels like Christopher Tolkien making us read a book chapter per chapter… which is also a wonderful experience if we let it sink in… My conclusion of this review is the possibility of this LOTR:RoP Series is a run up to the great battle where Elendil dies and Isildur cuts off Saurons fingers… Which means the final great battle.. we’ll have the new Elrond play that role.. Cant wait to episode 4
The Elrond portrait was poorly done. Surely Elros by the time he was King would have looked identical to the older, Hugo Weaving Elrond? Being a mortal twin of Elrond? Using the younger Elrond actor to portray Elros was silly. Another example of copyright ruining the show after the “no Hobbitt” Harefoot issue
So the orcs are looking for the blade ig? I enjoyed the episode, Numenor looked amazing. I'm getting a lot of Elden Ring scenery in this series, which is normal :D After seeing Isildur i wondered how long did he live? 234 years!
The fact they had to ride with horses to go to that library place of some sort just to find the Sauron symbol is a map...can't they just take a look at any middle earth map without needing to ride to that place??
@@victorike3102 you obviously didn't understand what I mean. Galadriel had a lot of chances of looking at a Middle Earth map before but She had to go there to realize that? Non sense
@@KRACHMACHERmusic lol it’s people like you who hate on this series but the truth is that you don’t grasp what the fuck is actually going on. They didn’t go to the library to look at the map. Bro just sit down watch the episode and understand before blabbing
@LifeRuiner I'm not whining about that, and we didn't see Elros but just a dumb painting of them. I'm complaining about the fact that Galadriel could have just compared Sauron symbol with a map of ME earlier in any other occasion without the needing of reaching that place.
@@KRACHMACHERmusic Galadriel was very defensive towards the numenorians, so as a way to gain her trust, Elendil invited her there and it obviously paid off. She felt that at least some numenorians actually respected the elves. There was also a document in there, if I remember correctly, that allowed her to make the connections needed.
Enjoyed the episode, but the numenoreans look too "human" to me. They are supposed to be 7ft+ and have a lifespan of over 200 years and are described to be more close to the elves in appearance and spirit than to normal humans.
Jep. Agree. Also found their society to be too “normal”. I mean yes, Numenor fell bcs it had become corrupted but without a hint as to something corrupting their society I wonder why its people were not depicted to be more noble.
I bet you're right. At first I was thinking it's gandalf, but it might make more sense now that he is the brown wizard ( I forget his name) considering it seems that he'll be hitched up long-term with the less interesting version of the hobbits.
I'm sorry to point this out... this tv-show is not Lord of the Rings. I did read all the books (not just the 4 most people have heard about), and this is something else. But apart from that minor issue, do keep up the good work.

Im 100% sure he is gandalf
Well you are 100% wrong. Bombadil came to middle earth long before this crap pot of a show is set in timeline.
Even his face looks the same to ian mckellen…
so make your point now about bombadil..
Wasn't Isildur the king that defeated Sauron, but didn't destroy the one ring when he had the chance?
When in the second age is this set as eregion is still a thing but isildur is alive?
They’ve done research you know, 60% of the time the sea is right every time
That doesn't make sense. It does sting the nostrils, though. 😂
Is The Stranger Gandalf?
nope
@@wahedsnel7813 Who is he?
@@eerohughes im not really sure its probably some sort of gandalf 2.0 sent by the valar to help earth. if its actually gandalf they are really trowing the lore out of the window
I pray folks get out of there ass with this show this show has been nice to me so far.
I guess I am spoiled. I want grand flashbacks. Galadrial walking down a hallway recounting lore is a let down.
They have no rights
They are talking about the events. I heard they have to negotiate every detail they get from the Silmarillion.
"Galadriel's Constellation" just looks like the big dipper, doesn't it?
Awesome. Ty for the video :)
This episode was great ..the fight gave so much suspense and the elf hit by the arrow .ufff best
and thos hobbits gandalf is helping moveing the cart is blibo and frodos famly. now will know why gandalf always visits the shire.
Lol
I actually enjoyed this episode. They didn't mess up the lore too horribly or anything. Numenor looked stunning, and finally there was some character development.
didnt you get bored
Can you explain, where you see character development? (Like actually asking curious). Because I don't see some. Galadriel has still this kind of childish, wannabe strong mentality.
@@xshadionytpx7891 only a little yeah. Overall the show has been fun so far, but for a BILLION dollars? Come on lol
@@aliasalias510 she's terrible so far
@@xshadionytpx7891 the scenes with the hobbits elders are so boring for me. What was the point they added this rubbish.
Really really really wish they had bought the 1st age rights or at least the rights to mention it.
And how is it that the south lands have been overrun and their king knows it but no one else does. Gal doesn’t even seem that surprised that what she had been searching for for centuries was happening.
Sean Stewart, I am very glad that Amazon is not allowed to adapt "The Silmarillion". They cannot butcher this material as well!
Anyone who sticks to hating on his show because of all the nerd rage will miss out. This is a pretty good show. And I hope it makes it.
Agreed I really hope people change their opinions…nobody directors will ever want to reignite this series if the fans don’t support
Most of the rage is just racist bigots. Leave needs out of it
Her friend dislike helping the giant and not nice. Its called selfish and not a good friend. cause that's how people are in real life. 12:58
Why did they kill all the elves who were quite clearly not keen on fighting back and would have been easier to keep as prisoners / slaves, but kept the one elf alive who was killing the most of them and creating all of the issues?
Love your reviews!!!
The series feels like Christopher Tolkien making us read a book chapter per chapter… which is also a wonderful experience if we let it sink in…
My conclusion of this review is the possibility of this LOTR:RoP Series is a run up to the great battle where Elendil dies and Isildur cuts off Saurons fingers…
Which means the final great battle.. we’ll have the new Elrond play that role..
Cant wait to episode 4
I don't think there is any way this season gets that far. That's like the end of season 3-5.
Jack the beanstalk…. The giant leader twin head
I don't think that sword is Narsil. With all the money and effort they are putting on they would not let something like that slide. I hope.
Do a video Cobra Kai and all of Chozen insane body count
Gotta see what happens this way, never have time to actually watch it.
Fck me, even as a fanfic, which is what this is, this is beyond saving.
So the orcs are looking for the blade ig?
I enjoyed the episode, Numenor looked amazing. I'm getting a lot of Elden Ring scenery in this series, which is normal :D
After seeing Isildur i wondered how long did he live? 234 years!
Easily couple hundred yrs, we are seeing a teenager/college boy at this point so there's lots of growing
IG? I guess too phucking difficult to spell?
The fact they had to ride with horses to go to that library place of some sort just to find the Sauron symbol is a map...can't they just take a look at any middle earth map without needing to ride to that place??
You obviously didn’t understand what happened there lol
There was also a document in there, if I remember correctly, that allowed her to make the connections needed.
here too soon
I think some Istari will be revealed.
its the Arkenstone.
Galadriel's personality gets on my nerves. She's such an entitled karen
Jobs worth ain’t she….
9/10 LOVED the episode!
Love your videos - hall of lore! 😊 not law 😂
common! the stranger has to be sauron
We all know who he is
I'm not watching this show, but I'm watching your videos. 👌
Enjoyed the episode, but the numenoreans look too "human" to me. They are supposed to be 7ft+ and have a lifespan of over 200 years and are described to be more close to the elves in appearance and spirit than to normal humans.
PJ did not implement that either. Elendil is supposed to be 8ft tall.
The elves look just like normal humans so ..
Jep. Agree. Also found their society to be too “normal”. I mean yes, Numenor fell bcs it had become corrupted but without a hint as to something corrupting their society I wonder why its people were not depicted to be more noble.
Mysterious Stranger = Brown Wizard?
I bet you're right. At first I was thinking it's gandalf, but it might make more sense now that he is the brown wizard ( I forget his name) considering it seems that he'll be hitched up long-term with the less interesting version of the hobbits.
Holy frick does this show plot throw the actual story out the window into a volcano
I'm sorry to point this out... this tv-show is not Lord of the Rings. I did read all the books (not just the 4 most people have heard about), and this is something else. But apart from that minor issue, do keep up the good work.
You sound like an npc
