I wonder why Bow never did a movie or a documentary about his self. He’s got one helluva story. I’d love to see what was it like especially during his Death Row days.
Bow Wow is truly a legend the right hands got a hold of him and his was so smart as a child rapping like he was doing it awesome young man glad he still doing it
The part where he mentioned him living in South Central and the people he was staying with got murdered makes me wonder who were these people? Were they family, gang affiliated (because why were they murdered), or just random people he was staying with? He also recently did an interview on Math Hoffa's "My Expert Opinion" where he talked about them again on there and said that his Mom let him stay with them because there were kids around.
With the longevity that Bow had in the rap game being in it since age 5 he should be at a way higher level active musically than where he is now and he's still young and have a lot to prove. I say this all the time his Greenlight Mixtape Series really shows who he is as a rapper and a lot of the material on there he wrote himself no ghostwriters just the real and raw side of Bow that only certain people know who followed his career even after he left So So Def and signed with YMCMB. If he re-released those mixtapes today and put them on major streaming services he would gain that attention musically again.
It's a shame how they get love for a few years (Bow Wow, T-Pain, Chingy, Yung Joc...) Then suddenly the industry turns against them and tries to shut them down like they were never something.
@@afanoflafear Facts. Although Bow has had a pretty decent run in the mainstream musically from 2000-2009. And even after his music career kinda faded away from the mainstream world, like I said he was still dropping mixtapes here and there which were all dope asl🔥🔥🔥 and probably some of the best music I've ever heard from him and he was still doing movies like "Lottery Ticket" & "Madea's Big Happy Family" which are my fave movies he's been in besides "Like Mike". Bow Wow has been around for 3 decades actually starting back in 93' with Snoop & Death Row, but he didn't become a star until the early 2000s with JD and he just took off from there. It ain't like he was a one hit wonder so for people to just try to write him off and act like what he's done for the culture especially as a child rap prodigy isn't legendary is beyond crazy to me, now I'm not saying that he was a God MC like the Rakims, the Big Daddy Kanes, the Nas's or anything like that (being that he had ghostwriters in the first place), but he had a dope flow for his age, always gave good performances on stage and was selling out arenas, 7 times to be exact. People say it's because of the corny stuff that he does or says sometimes, but it's like we've all had those moments and got clowned, other celebs do it all the time but because it's "Bow Wow" people try to clown him 10x harder and most of the time it be our own people which is sad. Me, I just give credit where credit is due and Bow has definitely had a hell of a career regardless of what anyone else says with the music and the movies that were apart of my childhood growing up and remember watching "Like Mike" and the "Basketball" music video wanting to be like Calvin Cambridge. As far as Chingy, Yung Joc & T-Pain, I can say T-Pain has had hella hits too just from his features alone including Outta My System w/Bow Wow, but Chingy & Yung Joc I only remember 1 song from them both and that was "Right Thurr" & "It's Going Down" which were both hits during their time period, but they didn't have the impact or star power that Bow Wow had growing up.
I see what you mean, another great I thought of was DMX: everyone was so quick to clown him for being a crackhead when his fame slowly but surely started to dissolve but once our boy passed they all acted like they loved the guy since the start. All rappers regardless of lyrical talent or content (especially who had a buzz at one point) should be celebrated and remembered for their triumphs, not flaws and losses.
@@afanoflafear Exactly. And I respect DMX too for what he did for the culture and he was so unique. It's unfortunate that he's no longer here to put out more music, but his legacy will live on & he was in one of my fave urban hood movies "Belly" & "Romeo Must Die" with Jet Li & Aaliyah for goodness sake. Dude's forever GOATED in my eyes as far as in the hip hop community and film.
I'm always Gon be a Lil Bow Wow Fan. I Grew up to Bow Wow and to me that "Beware of Dog" is a Classic Rap/Hip-Hop Album and he was just 13!!! When it dropped. "Like Mike" was a Dope Movie as well and I still watch it 😅. A Hip-Hop little Michael Jackson if you will no 🧢 people say what want but BW deserve more respect on his name and Legacy. Shout-out to Drink Champs 💯 need another Bow Wow Drink Champs but with Uncle Snoop this time 🤣
This deserves more views, it's pretty low compared to other episodes. I've always said Bow Wow is underrated overall as an entertainer. If he was just a child rap star he woulda been forgotten, but he's always relevant somehow and been in the game 25 years. And DJ Efn's too stupid to follow a story, but Bow only said he was 10 for one part and DJ Efn kept repeating it over and over.
Knows Music Don’t even put Bieber in the R&B category; he’s pop music biting off R&B. He should be compared to Aaron Carter or any other ‘00s teen pop artist.
He is comparing the two in terms of popularity not music when they were very young. It’s not about the music when he’s comparing bowwow to Justin Bieber as obviously there are two different types of musicians
Damn you guys, you don't even watch your own show?. you interrupting tooooooooooo much. you should let your guest finish at least one story before you.....
A lot of kids don’t understand the star power and how big of a deal Bow was in the early 2000s. Dude was the man!
Besides Kross Kross in the early 90s, no kid in hip hop was ever as big as bow wow in early 2000s.
