I shuffle back and forth between the Felsmann + Tiley reinterpretation, they both get your emotions going just in different ways. Both versions are incredible. This version is sorrowful yet hopeful, the Felsmann + Tiley version is intense, dreadful and hopeless.

Never knew this version existed but I'm glad I found it accidentally while searching for the Felsmann + Tiley version. The instrumental at 0:51 is what got me sold . Then 1:10 seals it. Sounds like it could fit as a Hans Zimmer sound from Kung Fu Panda. Absolutely beautiful

The real lyrics as printed n the album booklet:
    Somewhere, back in time
I left a part of me I want to see if you can try
To bring it back to me
You've got to go, where I cry
And take in all the tears I want to see if you can try
Drink a little bit of me
    Just a little bit lonely
    Where I am
    Take me back in time
I want to see if you can smile
If I become a better man
    I need you - now I know
Just give me one more chance
I'm gonna try and be your friend
So we can beat the end

You may really like the sound of Ronald Jenkees, specifically the Disorganized Fun album, and I would recommend you start with the song "Guitar Sound"
His works don't have the same emotional gravity that M83 does, but they are highly unique and fun.
His album Days Away has more gravitas and a different sound than Disorganized Fun.
      Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

    • @L8dyAriel

+DesapoleEdits -Correct. It's just certain 'groupies' or HIPSTERS.. wanted certain 'sounds' instead of realizing that outside of their iphone or spotify account that there are these AMAZING things called albums..and these albums are to be played from side A...to side B. Regardless of format.
There I said it. HIPSTERS..(like Guido's of the early 90's, like Jock's of the 80's...) What they ALL have in common is.. not many of them learned how to play an instrument..learned multiple instruments, were good at layering concepts, visuals and sounds..created a scene ..They DID all figure out how to utilize it into their summer activities and go see a performance artist..that ended up changing their life. These are the same people bitching.
I look forward to not having an actual show ruined by these additional people that will financially support the band..knowing this, I'll stay home and listen to it on a reallllly good system..and ...that puppy..I wonder if he met a Frog.. :)

I think it’s more of a nostalgia album. it feels like an album written for our younger selves. If I was a child but with the development of an adult. I think people like this album because it’s written as if a child has the development of an adult because allows us to remember what we were like as a child only now this time with the development of an adult able to dispel some of our unmet desires with reality. it relieves the cognitive dissonance we had as a child which is soothing.

They NEVER played it again no matter how many times I tuned in and this is now one of my favorite songs *ever.* I look back on that random day after school ended when I decided to chill in the parking lot while my mom went grocery shopping. The moment he says "Somewhere" the vagueness of it suggests that this can apply to anyone anywhere. And that one word punches the song into motion. I listened to this with my Mom driving through the Appalachian Mountain range and it didn't feel saddening when it was being shared with another person in our own joint-solitude. This more than just a song for me.

Me and my ex used to listen to this band and look at the stars. This band has been so important to me and this is the first time i listened to them since we broke up. I feel a sense of relief that we are both in better places. I just sometimes wish i could lay out and look at the stars with her. Just for one more time. It's the small things in life that become the biggest when they're gone.

I absolutely adore this new song, as much as Do It, Try It, and I can't wait for this new album. The biggest strength of M83 is his ability to literally create pièces of art through music, and he deserves so much respect for that. These new songs sound different from the previous album, but that is also why M83 is my favourite artist on Earth: he's not afraid to explore new kind of music, to offer a form of diversity that is very rare in the world of music nowadays. I just feel like listening to M83 is an experience, something very different than anything I'll ever hear in my life, so that's why I'm so excited to listen to this new album: to discover what new universe this outstanding artist has created for us.

      Just imagine
You put on your headphones, somehow somewhere in your life lead you here. Listening to this song, so you close your eyes. Raising the volume just a bit for the emersion. And as you close your eyes, you lay down. Taking a deep breath. And open your eyes again, but you see youre now laying in space. Your eyes widen a bit, but your body still feels calm somehow, and you stay laying. You turn your head, and see someone else laying down next to you. Both of you are in space, and you somehow know, your gut, a feeling, telling you. That they're "listening to this song and feeling the same as you do". They turn their face towards you, keeping their body still and relaxed. You make eye contact, and for a moment you both feel the intense feeling this song gives you. Space, time, life, everything. All at once, in one moment. When you look at each other. You blink a few times and you're back to your calm state, and you both turn to look up at the breathtaking view space offers you. The bright colors of the galaxy, and you take another deep breath. Closing your eyes, indulging in the feeling you shared with the other person next to you. As you open your eyes again, you're back where you're originally were. The other person, gone. You sit up, taking a few shakey breaths, as reality settles in again. As you process everything and you mutter to yourself "...What the fuck just happened?"

If you were expecting "Hurry up, We're Dreaming" than I feel its possible you are also missing the point.
I think every album should say something new and give you different images and scenes. With HUWD, the images were grounded in some nostalgic dream. An amazing and awe inspired dream, filled with moments of fear and happiness.
I think this album may surprise you with its direction. I think (based off the two songs shown from the album) the scenes being captured are more in line with some space journey. Like some guy who is alone on a spaceship, traveling further and further from home. Each song representing a different radio wave being picked up from random sources. The junk radio waves everyone and everything has forgotten about.
    Imagine that for a minute.
I mean, the album art sort of implies that we will be listening to the junk of the universe. But, when you are alone in space, that junk becomes your treasure.
I think its funny how much Im analyzing this. I imagine Anthony saying "dude, its just music, just enjoy"
God knows i say the same thing on some of the comments on my music.
But i get it now. Not for me. For me, its more like the next episode on a show, or the next chapter in a book.
Its super compelling to me, and I'll admire the next adventure as much as the previous one.
But once again, I don't expect the same adventure. In other words, don't expect HUWD. Because the one thing i can promise is, it wont be.
    Good day.
