      Got a question from someone, can you explane if the wash is pre heated, by the product cooler ?

    • @DoctorGradusInternational
      @DoctorGradusInternational  3 года назад

      Sorry, missed your question. Mash is pre heated by vapour which is coming from the boiler from the begging, the we have alcohol vapour, when we turn on pump with mash. Under the pre-heater we have usual shotgun condenser.

    thank you for taking the time to make this video Andrey. Do you have some numbers on what size boiler can run how much mash? Thanks

    • @DoctorGradusInternational
      @DoctorGradusInternational  3 года назад +1

      Yes, 50 Litre boiler with water and heating element of 3kWt can handle 200 Litres of mash, so it's about 12 hours of working

    Great set up. Do you use just the one condenser or do you also have a condenser on the waste outlet to help heat the mash up to 80 degrees?

    • @DoctorGradusInternational
      @DoctorGradusInternational  3 года назад +2

      In this solution we don't use waste as heater of actual mash, but we've made one column where it's made. I hope next year we show it here.

    excellent video!!!!! i am just learning about continuous distilling! can I purchase the metal filter you showed in the beginning? and the pump you use is capable of handling higher proof alcohol? I want to circulate my hearts through a charcoal and flavor bag for several hours...will this work?

    • @DoctorGradusInternational
      @DoctorGradusInternational  3 года назад

      Happy to hear that! If I understood correctly - siphon - here - doctor-gradus.com/catalog/sifony/
      Pump is capable to transfer high proof alcohol, it's 24V so it's able to work everywhere. Might be a bit slow, but works great.
      Here is a pump - doctor-gradus.com/catalog/nasosy/nasos_peristalticheskiy_/
      Yes, it's going to work fine at the process you mentioned.

      Comrade Gradus- have you developed ....or maybe we can develop a re-useable filter to clear mash quickly before distillation? this would be the best invention in 100 years....im trying but its difficult- do you have ideas? Time is money and waiting to clear mash is problem.

    Are there any plans for a 76mm version for those of us with existing 3" columns? Will your peristaltic pump be adequate? This seems like a very tidy tool for home distillation.

    • @DoctorGradusInternational
      @DoctorGradusInternational  3 года назад

      Yes we have plans for 3 inch continuous columns and already tested one. We are changing the packing for better performance. This 2021 there going to be more parts for 3 inch columns. Write us what you intended in? Some parts we already making for buyers.

    would this setup be considered a "reflux" setup

    • @DoctorGradusInternational
      @DoctorGradusInternational  3 года назад

      Yes, this distiller is modular, so you just need to add dephlegmator, which is included in this kit. Then make a second distillation using these plates as well. Result is pretty good, if you're distilling fruit or grain mash. Some people like simple sugar distillate with reflux with these plates, but I don't really. It's better to add mesh packing or SPP and get more neutral spirits (in case of simple Sugar)

    Nice, but the temperature sensor must be placed in the middle of the column, not at the bottom

    how do you separate foreshots and heads with this? or do you pretty much have to do a spirit run after?

    • @DoctorGradusInternational
      @DoctorGradusInternational  3 года назад +2

      Yes, our Continuous Stills are made for kind of Russian choice. So, it's just a way to make first run with collecting great low wines where is no boiling taste and flavour. You right you have make a spirit run after distillation process and cut foreshots and heads. We are going to build continuous stills where is going to be units to collect everything you need to, but don't know when we start.
