6:58 It kinda reminds me of a plague doctor mask or just a bird in general. It looks like it has a downturned beak like most of the masks do. Plus, it could fit into him doing experiments with something that could maybe emit gas(poppy gel?). Also, plague doctors are used as a symbol of death or disease if we're looking into symbolism.
If the prototype's face is indeed that of a bird, perhaps this was what that one scene in the easter comic was foreshadowing? Or the bird was just a red herring :)

It hasn't been given any real hands or feet, just the basic shape, perhaps either this is the starting shape to eventually change, or this is a deliberate choice. (for suffering maybe? I'm truthfully just grasping at straws.)
The eyes are inverted! As someone who sews, that is identical to what hard plush eyes look like internally. It's a very neat touch!
