The US uses American English which is apparent when reading where something came from. In Australia, there's even Australian English when it comes to the way things are spelt, which is basically a mix of the phonetic spellings of American English and UK English. I'm saying UK to differentiate between the three English languages. The US spells words like gray, color, realize, traveling, etc. where UK/Australian English spells like grey, colour, realise, travelling, etc. I'm an Aussie, but spell with UK English because I prefer it.
