REBUILDING A LIVE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE THE 4602 PT1- GETTING READY FOR STEAMIN UP

In this video series I show the rebuilding of this locomotive. I built it 44 years ago and it was the first locomotive that I have built. I will take you thru the process of the rebuild and go over some of the improvements.

Dave was your dad a machinist? do you have more old pics of you and dad with trains? I think that would be fun to see. I plan to go see my dad in Sicklerville this winter (he owns cook machinery) and ill will try to visit a train club while there, maybe shake your hand thanks for the videos.

How do you ensure your pressure vessel is safe? If one was to try to restore an old rusted steam engine how would you know the boiler won’t explode? Other than a hydrotest I mean

the hydro-test tells all if if doesn't pass build or repair the boiler or just simply scrap it
