I have an idea for boomerang, thor hammer. Why? Because it also returns when you throw it.
Been asked to make that 100's of times but unfortunately it is a design that did not return. Too much mass in the head of the hammer.

The gale is my favourite!

+IAA015 Yes it is a great starter boomerang. If you want something even easier then I would suggest the Whizzer, Traditional, Roo or Deadlyrang

By the way, I am left handed - I know you have to use a boomerang that is designed for left handers, I assume you throw kinda the same way just the opposite angle, but is there any video tutorial on how to do it properly or have you considered making one?

Sure, any kid over 9 can throw most all my beginner wooden boomerangs. Kids under that should use the Temoe or foam boomerang also sold on my website.

Does not matter how hard you throw any of them. They will still go out the same distance. What makes them go out further would adding more weight to the boomerang.
Are you supposed to throw boomerangs straight up and down or with a slight tilt?
Boomerangs as seen in my videos are thrown just as you say. Vertical or a little off of vertical. Hunting boomerangs such as a kylie are thrown horizontal and are not meant to return. MTA boomerangs are throw straight up into the air above you slightly vertical. LD boomerangs are thrown at the middle point between vertical and horizontal.

Hi! Do you have any video for an experiment to compare two identical boomerangs except one has the reversed leads and trails? Usually the lead of the blade is more thick and the trail is thin. What if the lead parts which cut the air is thin and the trail parts are thick? I'm really curious in terms of physics!
And actually one more case to compare: both sides are thin like the usual trails! In this case if you see the section of a blade it's symmetric!
Good questions. If you reversed the trail with the lead on a right handed boomerang you would be turning it into a left handed boomerang and vice versa if you did it to a left handed boomerang.
Doing this would not allow it to turn in flight. A boomerang wing is almost identical to how an airplane wing is made and functions in the same way as well.
Thanks for your quick reply! Yes in fact I'm curious of the lift force on Boomerang! I can't find any relevant experiment of lift force on the internet with the shape of the blade. And I think boomerang is a good object for a lift force experiment as its bottom is just flat! Actually air plane wings are a bit inclined like a propeller so it will float even without lift force. But boomerang's blades are not inclined so it will be really a good lift force airfoil experiment. Also a boomerang with four blades (not two or three) but without ground trails (so just flat panel) but inclined like a propeller would be a good experiment object to see if the propeller shape will replace the airfoils of lift force effect. some poor illustrations imgur.com/a/LSWq2ew I don't know if you would be interested to see the differences but I thought it would be good to see some comparisons if it happen to exist!
