This video is a God-send!!! Spent more than an hour trying to find how to remove the water filter. Never had this problem before. It took a unique screw driver head which thankfully I had with an extension but I got it! And it was because of your video! TY TY TY THANK U!
THIS IS THE ONE! I watched 3 videos prior to this on the issue, but this man was very clear about the part needing to be manipulated. Thanks for the help.
Thank you!! Our filter was stuck for...EVER. We were about to call a repair service, but then we found your video...filter replaced. Thanks for sharing!
Had an issues with the filter not staying in, call a repairman he said it was the wrong filter, $100 and he left. Saw this video and did the same thing, take the side off, remove the screw, remove cover, got a better look at it and could see the backing plate had come loose. remove the 4 screws and water lines by pulling the ring towards the holder and they came right out. got it on the table and removed the backing plate, watch for the two spring how the fit in the slot. snapped the backing plate back on. tested it and put it back in the fridge working fine. I think I pushed in too hard on the filter and dislodge the backing plate trying to get it out.
This helped me a lot. I got the old filter out but then the replacement ones didn't want to snap into place, so I had to use your method in reverse to put the new filter in. Had to push the new one in place, then push up on the end to lock it in.
Worked! Thank you for this video!!! My water filter was holding on with both fists, and I thought I'd have to forget about changing it at all. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. Again, thank you!
there is no good clearance to stick anything underneath to push that bracket! So easiest option is to loose up the plastic teeth socket on filter, and push it in. It will lock up perfectly.
Excellent fix, solved my latest problem. However I'm still unable to figure out why the water flow pressure from the water dispenser stays weak. Back in the day the water flow would return to normal after replacing the old filter. Now for some unknown cause the water flow remains weak even after replacing the filter. If someone knows how to fix this problem please let me know.
Thank you, realizing the issue I was able to press up on the filter end I could grab there for pushong the other side down and releasing it from being stuck. Seeing your video and why it was stuck helped.
Great info. BUT! Mine didn’t snap back in even with the opposite method….BUT! I removed those 4 small screws. Pulled down on the doohickey containing the plastic teeth tilted it forward and noticed two small springs. One popped out in the process. NO PROBLEM! There’s a plastic separater on the back of the teeth hicky. Put the springs back in. Make sure the plastic separater thing is between the two springs. Gently tilt it back into place. Put the screws in and sha-zam! Sounds tricky? But trust me. I was 11 before I could tie my own shoes. If I can do it so can you. Just keep in mind which way the teeth point. Even easier…take a photo or two with your phone. Before and after you tilt the doohickey down. You can do it!
ok the this is about a stuck water filter. you say to take out the screw, slide the cover off the water filter, but not once did you say how to actually removed the stuck water filter.

When mine was new it ejected fine. However it wouldn’t go back in. Now it has this problem. This thing is horrible.

It’s easy to miss. A few seconds later he says to use a small screwdriver to push the center channel up.
also my problem taking the filter out when it is stuck
