It would totally make sense for the real robots of the future in Wall-e to have a resemblance to the fictional robots found in movies within the Pixar Universe. That exact thing happens in our world today. People who make real robots find inspiration from the robots or droids that existed in the movies they watched growing up.
I like the idea though because of the implications. Like how Riley being in Finding Dory seems to imply it is "real". If you follow the in-universe Easter Eggs, it starts becoming more of a possibility that she was just simply an "extra" in the movie. Edit: which then leads into the possibility that Riley is actually an actress and Inside Out is an in-universe movie.
For a specific real-world example, just look at Star Trek. Automatic doors and flip-phones came about in real life because someone wanted to make science fiction into reality.
A few things to note: - The Luxo Lamp constellation also appears in Toy Story 2 in the video game in the first shot of the movie. - Ratzenberger did not appear in Luca or Turning Red either which raises questions about if those two movies are in-universe or not. - The luxo jr ball is missing from other films besides Lightyear as well.
Lightyear was the definition of mid, it's like it was crafted by an algorithm, if it weren't for the gay kiss no one would've remembered it a second after the credits rolled the first time
In toy story, the reason buzz was freezing around humans before knowing that he was a toy was because he stated that he was learning the “alien’s traditions,” not because he was faking as a space ranger
Has no one noticed yet that the Hello Dolly tape in WALL-E is our definition of live-action, not Pixar’s universe’s definition of live action, or is there some crazy explanation for it I haven’t noticed? The only one I can think of is that WALL-E actually came second in the timeline, after The Good Dinosaur, and then also our reality timeline. Once WALL-E ended, the new normal for how humans looked led to every other Pixar movie after being live-action in-universe.
I'd like to note that since Onward was connected to the Pixar Theory through Walle then wouldn't that mean that if Walle is just a movie inside the pixar universe that Onward would need to be as well.
Because of the Ian balloon in TS4. So Turning red, TS1-TS4, UP(The Grape Soda can being spotted in TS4) Finding Nemo and Dory, Inside out, Monsters Inc and university, Luca do happen while A Bugs life is probably just a movie as well. Either if the incredible actually happens or is just a movie is still Debatable. Cars is either an alternate universe or just a movie. Elemental is probably an alternate universe too.
I think the robot figure in the office is product placement from BNL. They could already have similar robots (after all, given what we see in The Incredibles, AI is more advanced by this point than in our universe), and I think BNL would definitely make toys and figures of them.
If all the pixar movies are just movies in the pixar universe, does that mean that the people in the pixar universe have a pixar theory of their own, that just keeps looping into itself infinitely?
I wonder if we can actually go through the old Pixar movies and look for Easter Eggs to older movies that could be the next in universe movie. For example, maybe the Mikey Keychain in Wall-e means that the next in universe movie to come out after was Monsters Inc. It could also be Finding Nemo but then you'd have to explain Riley in Finding Dory. Although, that could be as simple as her being an extra in the movie.
If Wall-E WAS an in-universe Pixar movie, I could think of one possible reason (though it's pretty unlikely) that BnL would allow themselves to be portrayed so negatively in a movie: "There's no such thing as bad publicity."
I love how he gets hung up on the canonicity of each Pixar movie, even though they realistically don't have ANYTHING to do with each other outside of a few easter eggs.
My thoughts: WALL-E happened (for the Pixar theory), but Pixar (in universe) is a visual effects company who wanted to make their own shows/movies, so after making some other projects, they felt confident enough to make a full-length feature -- Lightyear. This is not unlike Walt Disney and his animators working on a few shorts, before getting started on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Maybe the in universe version of Pixar had their own version of Lassetter, and Docter, and Ranft, and they got together and went "Okay... so what do we make next?"
The way I see it, Lightyear isn’t the movie Andy watches, because Zurg isn’t Buzz’s father. Instead, Lightyear takes place during/After WallE. When B&L say earth is uninhabitable, they create the space rangers to go and find a new planet home. Buzz, as a teenager, helped lay the foundations for some weapons and vehicle blueprints while training as one of the 1st generation cadets. Also, buzz’s dad would be a kid on earth, and name his son after his favorite childhood movie. Buzz himself would be born on the axiom, and thus not have seen the movie that gave him his name. After some time on the planet, a message from the axiom arrives saying that they returned to earth, the mission is a bust. That’s why they shut down the mission, because the mission was to find humans a new home, but it’s no longer nessasary after wallE.
Except Zurg isn't Buzz's father in any version. In Toy Story, they're toys. In BLoSC, it's revealed to be a "made you look" trick Zurg uses to confuse Buzz. The utility belt Buzz toy is naturally driven to play along, so it does. And that's the thing about toys in Toy Story. When you don't know you're a toy yet, you act like one involuntarily.
I like thinking Lightyear the film is more a remake/reimagining based on Buzz lore, like the Paramount Sonic movie not really being a remake, but reimagining based on Sonic lore. The Buzz Star Commamd Spinoff is thus like Sonic SatAM or so, being canon to itself, but like Lightyear, not being canon to mainline Buzz. Maybe Wall-E in-Pixarverse is also a live-action hybrid film, but more like Labyrinth and less like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Also also, Monsters Inc lacks A113, but Monsters U does.
I feel like BML made a short for this movie and that was like an Easter egg for that. BUT I also think that people loved it so much that they started making robots for every day purpose, not only that, they wanted to make buzz as real as possible, including making a space ship that will go into space, which kick started the events in wall-e
Or, hear me out, the BURN-E reference isn't referencing WALL-E as alternate-universe-Pixar's next film, but referencing the our-universe Pixar short BURN-E as their next film! Maybe, in alternate-universe Pixar's world, BURN-E was a feature length film rather than a short, and BURN-E became the main character. Seeing as the our-universe next film reference is Wade, the main character (or one of them) of Elemental, it makes sense that the in-universe next film reference would also be referencing the main character of their next movie - BURN-E! Also, I feel like there's something to be said that WALL-E is so far, the only Pixar film with live-action actors and segments, and in-universe, Lightyear is a live-action movie! Lots to think about...
The movie bolt, about an in universe movie, specifically calls out finding Nemo as also being an in universe movie. My memory on it is a little hazy, but when the birds are pitching a movie idea to bolt, they bring up how they scared away Nemo by pitching him a movie as well, meaning that Nemo was also an animal actor in an in universe movie.
Maybe Walle was a movie based on true events like a movie, based on a true story, meaning that’s a movie about Walle the hero that brought them back to earth
Would Wall-E being an in-universe movie also mean Onward is an in-universe movie? My rationale is that you see the axium from Wall-E as one of the mountains in onward-( from what I remember from how you explained how Onward fit into the Pixar theory). I love this content so many fun questions to explore and opportunities to rethink what we knew about the Pixar Theory.
Hey SuperCarlinBrothers just like to point out that Toy Story 4 i think destroyed the Pixar Theory. Because I was on Disney Plus and watched and listened to the Commentary on Toy Story 4 with Director: Josh Cooley and Producer: Mark Nielsen and Director: Josh Cooley say something at around about 31-33 minutes into the film that “This is just the goal to destroy The Pixar Theory.” So in my mind at least that is clear confirmation that The Pixar Theory isn’t true and cannon in the eyes of Pixar Animation Studios.
I think that the incredibles could be a movie. It would explain why the pizza planet truck doesn't show up in that movie. It's because pizza planet didn't pay for the product placement. It also explains the comic book in finding Nemo and why no one seems to care about the fact that superhero's are real
2:16 In Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, A Bugs Life, the end credits includes bloopers that stars other Pixar characters in all 3 of them, this means that Toy Story Monsters and A Bugs Life are fictional movies within the Pixar universe, with Cars 1’s Epilogue proving this. I want to believe... that Wall-E is an actual fictional part of the in-universe timeline. But consider how science fiction inspires science and science will make references and allusions to past science fiction.

I like the Pixar theory, to a point. But I think the idea of films existing within a film opens up a world of storytelling possibilities, without the need for a shoe horn. In retrospect, also a way to reflect the notion of modern fandom culture. As you know, we have space films (Star Wars), Wizard films (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings) films featuring creatures (Fantastic Beasts, Percy Jackson) dinosaur films (Jurassic Park), Superhero movies (Marvel) and movies about vehicles (Fast & Furious) So, why can’t they have Lightyear, Wall-E, Onward, Luca, The Good Dinosaur, Cars and the Incredibles and Cars? For what it’s worth, I think the following are true in the Pixar universe: Everyone comes from the Great Before and goes to the Great Beyond (Soul) or some other culturally-specific afterlife (Coco) Everyone experiences has Emotions ; joy, sadness, fear, anger, disgust (Inside Out) Every child has a Monster who comes through a door from another dimension to scare them (Monsters Inc) Pockets of magic exist across the eras (Brave, Turning Red) which are linked to destiny and family Toys and animals poses certain human characteristics (Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille)
Let’s make a timeline this shall we? -Brave(10th century) -Monsters University(1989) -Toy Story 1(1995) -Finding Nemo(1998) -Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc(1999) -Finding Dory and Inside out(2000) -Turning Red(2001) -Ratatouille(2007) -Toy Story 3(2010) -Toy Story 4(2011) -Coco(2017) -Soul(2019) Why I put Finding Nemo in 1998? Simple because in monsters Inc, one of the files about a child says the monster will be scaring and 1999 and Boo’s drawing seen in her room can be spotted in the dentists office in finding Nemo. Ok and also, there is a Nemo toy in monsters Inc.
I saw someone say this at some point and I honestly kind of agree That what Andy watched back in the day was buzz lightyear of star command and the movie lightyear is a movie adaptation of the show that came out many years later
No because lightyear in universe came in 1995 and Buzz Lightyear of star command came out in 2000 even in the intro the toys watch the movie so it’s an in universe show and Toy Story 2 takes place in either 1996 or 97 based on the fact that Molly is learning to walk so she’s about 2 or 3 and Toy Story 3 is in 2006 because of Andy’s age he was 6 in Toy Story 1 1995 and 17 in Toy Story 3 2006
So… Monsters Incorporated might be a movie within the pixar movies. There is, to our knowledge, no A113 easter egg, and there is a Car version within one of the Cars movies.
I wanna say Cars would be an in universe movie since you have the movie poster of Cars (cant remember which movie) and then the Cars toys in Toy Story. And if Cars is an in-universe movie then at the end of Cars when they do the Cars version of Monsters Inc does that mean they were poking fun of their other in universe movies?
Hey so, nothing about what you guys are talking about, but Allen Tsai did a tournament on Disney and Pixar movies and he's on the finale now. Just want to see you guys do something like this, or hear what you guys think
BnL just paid so much money to be put in Wall-E that the animators didn’t know where else to put them other than everywhere, which in turn made them look like the bad guys. Guess they should’ve paid less
Wall-e is a movie mockumentory in the monster Inc world. It show cases why monsters should not interact with humans and why it's okay to scare children in order to power the world they are doomed to destroy. That's why the main characters are robot not humans because monsters would not idol a human. They can feel sorry for them, being fat egotistical victims, but not want to befriend them when interacting with them.
Well if woody the toy was based of a tv show from the Pixar verse, could it make sense for the Buzz toy to be base if the events of Lightyear, with light year possibly being Star Wars in the Pixar verse
I’m a little confused, because I didn’t remember it saying anything about the carlin brothers when I watch the movie. So I just open it up on Disney+ to check the title screen, and it does not say anything about the carlin brothers like they’re saying it does so was that a joke? Because I’m very confused now.
So the Pixar theory is now like the Quentin Tarantino universe, where some of the movies are real, and some of the movies are movies that the real characters could go see.
What's the extensive knowledge that this guy has with all the property that he has learned about and movies I think you would be a good what if channel two

I'm surprised not many people noticed that walle himself appeared in the movie as an Easter egg (in cube form)
I still like to believe your original video on light year.
Lightyear was a movie from within the Toy Story movie.
Name a more versatile 18 year old than me you can’t
What about Monsters Inc. Since it is the only other Pixar movie missing A113
I wanna say Cars would be an in universe movie since you have the movie poster of Cars (cant remember which movie) and then the Cars toys in Toy Story.
I think the most likely movie to also be a movie in universe is onward
My theory is that Wall-E is based way after Light year
BnL just paid so much money to be put in Wall-E that the animators didn’t know where else to put them other than everywhere, which in turn made them look like the bad guys. Guess they should’ve paid less
Again... what happened to ALL if the other merch from lightyear in toy story?
Look at that. Not a single mention of Toy Car Story or Monster Trucks Inc.
My brain hurts.
So they do have connection and are part of Starkmond
Well if woody the toy was based of a tv show from the Pixar verse, could it make sense for the Buzz toy to be base if the events of Lightyear, with light year possibly being Star Wars in the Pixar verse
Rex Is in wall E
What if lightyear is a movie spinoff of the in real life buzz series
7:00 sorry, in what universe is 113 BETWEEN 115 and 114. 113 would be about 1 screen over
guys at pixar: ok so we add this line at the beginning and done, no one bothers us with the pixar universe crap
these guys: BUT WHAT IF....
John Ratzenberger left Pixar as soon as pixar movies stopped releasing in theaters
Love this
I like Wall-E being in Lightyear, it doesn't devalue it, just a different universe.
Please address buzz lightyear of star command series.
Pixar is written on the alien trophy!!!
why is this the last year of the animal mugs?
I wonder if this is all coincidental but because the claw i feel mite have been a reference to "inspector gadget" who eneny is the claw
The Good Dinosaur and Toy Story can't take place in the same universe timeline because a toy story treat mentions extinction of dinosaurs
This is reaching levels would make Matpatt jelous.
Love the videos!
I was sent a message told to text you by telegram but the message went away. And I'm not sure what it's about.
Sorry nevermind I think it was a scam.
I want Ben's shirt. I want it now. Where can I get it??
what if the space company in WALL E bought product placement for BURN E in Lightyear
I’m a little confused, because I didn’t remember it saying anything about the carlin brothers when I watch the movie. So I just open it up on Disney+ to check the title screen, and it does not say anything about the carlin brothers like they’re saying it does so was that a joke? Because I’m very confused now.
Does that mean that onward could also be just a movie?
So the Pixar theory is now like the Quentin Tarantino universe, where some of the movies are real, and some of the movies are movies that the real characters could go see.
6:20 "A113 can be found here"
I'm sorry, where?? I see 115 and 114 but no 113, and even then... no A.
What's the extensive knowledge that this guy has with all the property that he has learned about and movies I think you would be a good what if channel two
Does this mean the movies that are in the Pixar universe will have their own Pixar Theory?
