i disagree,NCR just meat rushed in the start and attacked without anything to counter power armor.
So much tactical thinking but they are getting warfare of death each time like how is so many NCR soldiers but dealing with those jetpack soldiers man that is rough…
@@shashlikmaster To be fair it is hard in general to deal with Power Armor squads unless they wanna accidentally bomb the station by using some ordinance.

Imagine growing up in a technologically backwater rural setting, only to see these flying steel titans burn your closest friends alive. How the NCR's morale did not shatter is a testament to their numbers.
Because the BoS instigated the war, committed acts of terrorism against California and are responsible for a lot of setbacks in their economy. The average soldier probably holds a lot of resentment for the west coast chapter of the BoS
well by this point in time, the NCR fought the Enclave at their peak with the BOS and then Beat the west coast BOS at their peak almost right after.
@@mugskikinda a pattern with most factions that engage the NCR. Pretty much every faction that has fought them in a serious engagement eventually ran out of manpower and died. Guess that’s why the Legion is BTFOing them in the Mojave. Bros are beating them at their own game.
@@Kettles_From_Krauniathe Mojave NCR are acknowledged numerous times as not being supplied with sufficient manpower, training, equipment or leadership
They are mostly conscripts with a few weeks of training and the rangers had a token force at the start of the game that changed when the ranger reinforcements arrive midway through
I love the legion and I go to bat for them a lot but they are beating a fraction of the NCR's power but with a full force, fully motivated and fully politically backed NCR campaign against them they probably wouldn't win
@@PodreyJenkin138 oh absolutely agreed. Even the courier acknowledges it to Lanius (if you are a Speech Stan). But ultimately the NCR has the potential to outlast the Legion regardless. The NCR may rot in the East with its abysmal supply lines but they can at least survive long enough for Caesar to keel over and have the Legion rip itself apart.
Subtle detail but I love how both the NCR and the BOS are taking (unarmored) casualties, but you only see the NCR getting replacements-really emphasizes the numbers difference
I feel without power armor the NCR would have won the battle at the end of that day already. Their night attack would have broken the outer defenses and then all they would have needed was to send in assault squads into the tight building corridors and grind the BOS down.
@@kingskelett6265 Oh for sure-but technological superiority is sort of what makes the Brotherhood of Steel what they are lol. It's kind of like saying that the NCR would have lost if they just didn't have an overwhelming number of soldiers.

The main reason the BoS lost the battle was the fact that they had to defend a rather bad defensive position.
In the earlier clips one can see that even when surprised, the BoS is still a professional military. And now with preparation, their technical superiority is making the fight hell for the enemy despite their own disadvantages.
This is also the Mojave Chapter of the BoS where their recruitment doctrine didn’t allow for them to simply “replace” their lost personnel from the local population. Small details make a large difference.

Sodaz is really leaning into the whole "Paladins are the Astartes of Fallout" vibe, especially with the literal assault squads, and I am all for it.

I'm not gonna lie, this video feels a little bit *too* 40k to me in a way -- the assault jump is where that went from a subtle unspoken feeling to the very front of my brains
The Brotherhood send an assault squad to deal with the Mariposa base in Fallout 1, so it's accurate.

The Brotherhood eventually ran out of ammo. After that, the NCR forced the Brotherhood to retreat.

Nobody ever talks about just how much damage a suit of power armor can cause, even without the heavy weapons. If they wanted, the wearer could probably crush a normal human's skull with just the exoskeleton's fists!
The BOS modifications to the power armor, like with the visors and the skull paint, are awesome and so creative.
The voice actors really elevated this one to a new level. IT went from great to goddamn amazing
Not only that, but they really fit well into the cast of New Vegas. If these voices would appear in game like that, I would not have noticed anything
Power armor actually functioning as power armor is what I love to see.
This brings the BOS to life like almost nothing else does. The sheer weight and terror of what power armor should be is on full display and I love it.
I love that the assault squad have an additional armored visor to pull down over their viewport, since in lore that is the one part of power armor that is the most vulnerable.
I think the NCR can be happy that the Brotherhood didn't hold up in a place that was defensible...

Yeah, HELIOS is basically out in the open because it's a solar farm. The entire site is lower than the surrounding terrain, on one side there's a cliff overlooking it and it's right next to the I-95, making the NCR's logistics a cakewalk.
Despite all that, it's still a meatgrinder. Now imagine the Brotherhood holed up somewhere like Jacobstown, the REPCONN Test Site, or even The Fort/the eastern side of the Hoover Dam.
To be honest, I think the power plant was the reason it was so bloody for the NCR. In the wastes, it's a vital location, so the goal was to take it. Had they been in a place purely for defensive purposes, the NCR might have been able to use mortars.

Also since the Brotherhood is so insular it would be pretty easy (if lengthy) for the NCR to dust off the siege tactics handbook and starve them out.
I cant wait to see how Sodaz portray the Legion. Imagine the first battle of Hoover Dam and the fall of Joshua Graham.
I imagine the Joshua Graham scene will look pretty similar to the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver intro; the part where Raziel gets thrown into the Abyss. _"Cast him in."_
Really shows how unstoppable power armour should be to small arms fire. Fallout 4 trivialised it to the point you lose limbs to pipe rifles.
Yep. PA is basically a “be all and end all” of personal protection, a mobile bastion, a walking tank. Even weaker models are juggernauts of raw power, nigh unstoppable by small arms and basic melee weapons, hence why they are so OP in a Wasteland where tanks are all but gone and vertibirds usually owned by factions who own PA suits. Basically its a real pre-war relic weapon, not something you beat with a carbine and a handful of grenades.
NCR ultimately won by cutting down all support personnel in the facility and then kiting PA soldiers while swarming them with their own units and using anti-materiel rifles, rocket launchers and sheer numbers.

Considering how smart the NCR has been in these videos, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a second firing line of soldiers on the flanks armed with anti-material rifles, rocket launchers, and/or fat men and the whole flanking maneuver was a trap to draw the BoS assault squads into a kill zone. Guess we’ll see

@@CrazyRider751 To be fair, the BoS were stated to have held off multiple waves of NCR assault but ultimately lost due to running low on ammo and slowly getting whittled down. Which we are seeing here
it would definetly make much sense considering thats how the ncr defeated the BoS by abusing their overreliance on power armor

I've said it before and I'll say it a million times. THIS is what the Fallout TV series should be... a gritty raw animated view of the world, adding extra depth to the lore. Basically Fallout Clone Wars 💯
nah, they are probably just gonna recreate 'mandalorian' or 'last of us'. its all gonna be a joke pandering to a very specific and small demographic while also trying to appeal to everyone...while not appealing to the actual fans of the games. at least that's my prediction.
TV series isn't even out. Cool it.
And what we are getting instead is a Bethesda Fallout TV show that's gonna be wacky and weird, bad dialogue/bad writing/bad story, probably a unlikeable protagonist and very annoying characters. Because the world has laser weapons, mutated orcs, and zombies!!!
@@dyliokhan3946 to be fair, Fallout universe *is* wacky and weird. There are a lot of really stupid and funny moments across the franchise. UFO's, a really "Lucky" dog, telepathic molerats and etc. But yeah, chances are, if they're ever going to make a TV series based on fallout it will probably turn out pretty bad
all we would get is guys in power armor talking about their feelings if it was on tv... make sure you support Sodaz he is one of the best we got
I love how the flame thrower guy has welding googles to protect his eyes from bright light that flames make.
Every bits of details SODAZ put in makes you watch his videos over and over again.
This is how you know SODAZ really understands the mechanics and tactics as well as lore much better than current developers and company that owns the game.

I don't know dude, with an impact like that, it really felt like some 40k assault marines.
But then again, that might be SODAZ's intention.
Watching a squad of T51 Powered Assault armor troops jet boosting onto some poor NCR grunts in such stellar animation has awakened something in me I thought long gone.
I'm still processing all of this. As a Combat Vet, what is going on there is full on a display of so many things done right that I have little to nitpick. From the combat banther, to tactics, to response to contact, movement, counter movement, the works. I'll need to rewatch again and just soak it all in, but from what I've seen so far, you sir are on the ball.
I'd love to see an animation series with you in the helm in this format, for eg a series "Fallout Battles" or even an entire show on an a entire new plot.

Even though I've been watching Sodaz for years, I've only just noticed that Sodaz have a special love for jetpacks.
The Brotherhood looks cool with their superior weapons, but damn the NCR is well disciplined and keep pushing on despite the technological disadvantage.
A great representation of the NCR in combat compared to just having them throw waves of their guys like it's WW1

Well, this WAS before the NCR faced the Legion and got butchered after years of war and attrition, and the training and equipment standards also falling into shit with many Troopers not even getting body armor or weapons. Many of the Troopers that managed to survive the Brotherhood at Helios was likely killed later on by the Legion; Hence the state of the NCR Army in New Vegas at the time of the game.
@@ZHBraden13 The strength of the NCR Army is at least 100,000~ at the time of New Vegas. But, they did lose a experienced soldiers during the First Battle of Hoover Dam.
Psshhhj Legion and NCR has numbers if brotherhood create paladin like a deathclaw offspring the many Will fall, except NCR play dirty again like in Boulder City, but hey no judgement Legion blew up a town as well. Beside they probally got Pulse grenade one of power armor kryptonite

@@paladinboyd1228 GW executives became greedy to an idiotic proportion and pretty much cease and desist'd every animator that ever worked with anything Warhammer IPd related, also handed them a "proposal", to erase everything they ever made or join them, in short, death by self mutilation or irrelevance, because GW hasn't and honestly believe never will give them any support on their projects, you seen Astartes? The guy who made it got assimilated and worked on jackshit ever since.
@@nickb365 it's all animators that got hit, Alfabusa left TTS because of it, SODAZ was forced to erase all his WH content pretty much at gunpoint, Astartes guy is lost to the void, no announcements made about anything made by him since GW "hired" him, just to mention the big names, you can find them because there's people pissed enough at GW to download the originals and upload them on their channels.

Holy crap, they way they came in can only be described as earth shattering, literally gave me chills
Really liking how this animation series takes elements of 3, 4 and New Vegas gear and puts them all together in a way that does not look awkward.
Go to 1:17 and just embrace the glory of this shot. Keep it up! This is a reminder to Bethesda and anyone out there making Fallout content that the universe can (and should) be real and dark.
God! Watching those knights move and utterly decimate any opposition they have right in front of them is almost akin to that of the Astartes in 40k. Strong, fast and utterly terrifying, it is a bloody miracle that the NCR manage to win this fight.
It turns out power armor doesn't mean much when you're outnumbered 100:1.
To put it another way: the NCR has more bodies than the BOS has bullets.

NCR won, but they also lost a hefty chunk of their forces to the BoS
that's why the NCR camps all over Mojave all have supplies and reinforcement problems

The jetpack Brotherhood at the end have such Blood Angels vibes I almost expected them whip out chainswords
well they do have rippers witch is there version of a chain sword's (there small but think dagger chain sword's)
The weight, the impact, the tactics. SODAZ videos are always top tier balancing cinematography and real-life scenarios unlike in Hollywood where they'd just give the BoS plot armor and make them stand in the middle of the battlefield and the enemy soldiers would somehow, still miss a big ass target. I also love the idea that the BoS would deploy their own assault squads to counter flanking enemies and break their morale, making them disengage from the battlefield to give the soldiers some breathing room.

I love that this feels perfectly natural to Fallout, but also gave strong 40k vibes.
I'm sure you already hear this a lot, but your work is a blessing. Seeing these IPs in such cinematic fashion fills us with so much fanfare and we thank you for every second.
i love how the brotherhood feels like space marines, the weight of their movement and the sound of their weapons, perfecto!
The life and depth you manage to breathe into this setting is amazing, Fallout combat and AI always felt quite barebones and arcade to me but this, this brings it to amazing new heights
I'm glad some people remember that the Brotherhood of Steel is paramilitary and awesome.
I mentioned it before, but I love how despite of how impressive and "meaty" everything looks, it still feels super "small scale" by our standards. The entirety of the brotherhood fits into one big building, and the NCR as well only has small contingents to use so far away from home.
Makes every casualty feel more relevant.
EDIT: Also, looks like the NCR commander is waiting for something. Did he plan for the Power Armored units to sally out?
I'm going to guess the grunts are bait for PA, and now there is an isolated PA unit that can be destroyed by whatever antiarmor they have: .50 rifles, lots of dynamite, rockets... Oh, and now that I think of it, the PA units are spread out and can be targeted over time by a group that would be overwhelmed if they tried to fight the PAs when they were all on the same front.
Mortar and missile fire in the next vid maybe?
The NCR will probably use missile launchers and anti material rifles to take out the paladins and knights.
Veteran rangers with anti materiel rifles. In the game at some point someone mentions that the NCR used anti materiel rifles to target the power armor joints and cripple brotherhood paladins.

The battle really showcases the ruthless brutality of the BoS and the hopeless nature of defending Helios One from a numerically-superior adversary.
These animations really capture how terrifying it must be to see someone with power armor on the field.
Just imagine the disrespect those cliff side NCR felt when this flying PA’d man rolls up and kills then with a 10mm pistol like bro
This is that gourmet sheet right here! Not only is the animation amazing but the tactics being shown are fairly realistic, between the volume of fire suppression and the flanking assault by the BoS and the high flanking marksmen/rush of numbers of the NCR. Absolute art right here and I can't wait for more.

This is exactly how I pictured the BOS and NCR wars, one has superior numbers and uses them effectively while the other is better armed with their power armored knights and paladins being an absolute nightmare for them.
I would also like to see them do battle videos with the NCR vs the Legion, I kinda picture all melee legionnaires using riot shields to offer some protection against bullets to get closer, acting as shock troops, while the rest use guns.
Love this series can’t wait to see more. 11/10

He actually was a 40K creator originally but then the Games workshop Purge made him delete his 40K animations and do other projects like Halo and now Fallout

the fact that everytime BoS Knights appear on screen shrugging bullets and obliterate NCR foot soldiers but the NCR will ended up winning in the end showed how crazy the battle. Imagine the amount of dead bodies around the Helios One in the aftermath.

Holy shit! this guy is literally pulling ideas out of my head of what I imagine with these already existing tech in the fallout universe, I was planning to do something with jump packs in my fanfiction.

At first thought the aussalt squad was donning flight goggles over armour for some reason, but once the flamer came out it makes sense that they put on light/glare reduction for the fire, just so sick seeing all the little details that go so deep and are storylined so well
I don’t know what motivates you to make cinematic masterpieces that rival triple a studios but your doing gods work and I’m glad people like you exist!

Power Armor + Flamer + Jetpack is an equation I've been needing in my life.
I only just got into playing Fallout with New Vegas and good god this is incredible SODAZ. This fan animation only makes me want to play the game even more.
This makes fighting the brotherhood of steel look as scary as it really is.
