I tried this at Tbilisi airport, put a WP on the end of 31L with 3D VNAV and a 3.0 degree glidepath. With no ILS tuned, nor TACAN or anything else, and with EGI and STPT enabled on the panel below the HSi. Set the Course to 303 and got the bars guiding me in. So it seems to work. I did have issues with the altitude setting, as I set the WP with the altimeter setting I had with the plane, and that threw it off when QFE was set.

If I understand right, I can put a waypoint on the threshold of a runway and set the waypoint type to terminal and do an EGI approach ?
That is my understanding as well but I have not done it yet and am not absolutely sure. Can anyone else shed light on this?
