I always like to see cubs interact with and annoy their fathers. The big males are usually not very patient or welcoming, but that’s not their job. As long as they protect their cubs, that’s what really matters. I love watching this pride.
I can't remember what channel I saw it on. But I saw this big male allow his cubs to eat before the rest of the pride. He was kicking butt of any lion that wasn't a cub so the cubs could eat first. It was the first time I'd seen that happen. But it was also an experienced pride male who actually liked his cubs. Females leave their cubs with the males to go hunt. You don't see it very often but it does happen more often than people think.
Male lions actually do a pretty shitty job protecting their lionesses and cubs. A lot of prides with female leaders do not need males. Male lions need females more than female need males. Males don’t pull their weight and create extra mouths to feed.
@@mathildegaye8492 yeah what Origins said, but thats how all females are, they tell the males they are theirs and intorduce them slowly, but I think shes hightened by the other males wondering around.
Watching with my granddaughter and when the lion was on the run after the wart hog she screamed she's going to eat me and laughed so hard. Pumba made it.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah... The crew kind of interfered with the hunt there with the loud truck. A very good series so far, but they probably should have just filmed what they could from where they were and picked up the aftermath.
@6:18 Selfish humans would interfere with nature, possibly interrupting the lioness lunch with your loud engine. 👎 Also, camera have HD zoom feature. 🤔 No need to be that close.
That’s so cool that the moms and dads and grandma are all right there together living as a unit with the cubs. I had no idea lion cubs got to hang out with their grandma!

I'm pretty sure it was unintentional, though. It was more likely they unknowingly spook the warthog, and it ran off before the lion could get into range.
Agree, it's really annoying to see how the crew had interfered in the hunting and had costed the lioness' her prey. Humans are really selfish. And people still discuss about no intervention policy? Not interfering with the nature. Bul***it. Look at those jeeps and cameras and the stalking of a lioness in hunting. Not interfering my a*s.
These reporters always ruin it for the lions. Everv wonder that the pret get skiddish not from seeing the lions but from seeing the men in vans, who the prey know follow the lions!!
But that's just it now.. We wouldn't be able to view the living of these wonderful animals if it wasn't persons like them, risking their lives to provide us with such privileges.. It wasn't intentional, she just wanted to get a full view, that even we ourselves would benefit from, because like I said earlier, it's because of persons like them why we are able to see how these amazing animals operate in the wild.. So don't blame them, just be thankful, because be mindful that they are also risking their lives..
Mother's protecting their cubs is so great to see❤️. The 'sign' language is enough to keep the male fathers away. We humans / animals too, could learn much from them💡.
How does this play (in your mind) when the males routinely murder all cubs when taking over a pride. . .a thing that happens alllllllllllllllll the time? 🤡
One of my favourites filmmakers & narrators of simple nature films together with Sir David Attenborough. They're very clear & distinct with the narrative. They even stop the diesel ⛽️ engine.
I have to say that u guys messed up her hunt just as she was moving in on the warthog when you started up the jeep. Bad move guys especially when they are trying to eat.
While I love these nature documentaries, those extremely loud jeeps really screw things up for prey animals who rely not only on smell to detect predators, but hearing as well. And when humans fire up those blaring jeeps like she and the crew did at 6:18 seconds, that really screws up the chances for prey animals to live and costs them their life. Is it not possible to get a jeep that doesn't fire up like a motorcycle and is quiet in Africa or no?!!!

It probably would've caught the warthog had you all not started up your trucks and moved towards them. You could have waited but that would've been to respectful towards nature.
You're not filming any successful hunts because you and your loud car are scaring the prey away. I'm amazed at how dense people can be and even more amazed that the lions haven't turned on these people for ruining their hunts. 🤦♀

Doesn't help the hunt when you have humans riding around trying to film. That has to play into the equation, if I were a lion I'd jump into that vehicle and make sure the hunt is a success 🦁
At 1:35 Axel's face shows he is looking forward to interacting with the little ones but at the same time trying to be optimistic the mothers will allow this to happen. At 1:57 he is deeply hurt that the mother will not allow him to bond. At 2:17 he looks as if he has taken some affront to the aggression of the mother but is restraining his instinct to teach her a lesson because, at the same time, he understands why she is uptight. At 2:33 and 2:41 he looks as if his kingly pride is being hurt by her rantings. But I love his expression at 2:47 where he looks as if he has made peace within himself and seems to be communicating to the mother that he understands how she feels, is not offended but just wants to bond with her and especially the cubs. He is an experienced father and it shows in the exercise of his patiently conceding to the mother's protectiveness despite how he feels.
