Yes it's sarcastic. It was a response to how after the Hurricane Katrina in the US, when New Orleans was devastated, christians groups there kept try to blame the hurricane on homosexuality.
Whaaaat???? 😆🤣😂😅 Is this a joke or is it actually true? In 2024? It sounds like a mindset from the medieval times. Like the earth is flat? How is its possible that some people seem to go backwards in their development? I truly dont understand what is happening...
This comedy group is called Grotesco, they're really funny. Eurovision 2009 was hosted by Russia, so in Melodifestivalen (that's Sweden's selection show for Eurovision) they did a really funny interval act, a parody, joking with a lot of sterotypes. Check it out: Grotesco - Tingeliin (Tingeling russian base-lovers remix) | Melodifestivalen 2009 | SVT
The swedish gay community actually loved it😂 Since it's so over the top & catchy that u can't possibly get mad at it!^^ -Swedish & British humor is very simular:P
@@andersmalmgren6528 Since a lot of British people like Swedish humor I would say that it's true. Swedes also often like British humor and if we had differnt humor we wouldn't like it as we do.
Your attempt at humor falls flat since this is nothing more than a thinly veiled display of classic homophobia disguised as crude comedy. Indulging in religions in such a manner is not only petty but also displays a lack of respect. Those who mock faith may find themselves devoid of laughter on the final day of reckoning.
@@FecayDuncan If you can't stand that others laugh at your religion maybe it's time to change it. It's fine that you belive in a fairytale but don't try to force your belifes on anyone else . If I'm not incorrect this is mostly because swedish citizens, ethnic ones has been against Church more and more even since 90s. And Church taxes and such. As people have said before; It is indeed satire, making fun of the way some religious groups try to blame "the homosexuals" for practically everything. Grotesco was a group who made many different comedy skits and songs and some of them are still active on their own today, for example the man portraying the reverend is called Henrik Dorsin and did a christmas album a few years ago with one of the songs being titled "Tomten är kommunist" (Santa is a communist, there's a video with english subtitles on youtube if you want to check it out) This song is actually really popular among the queer community in Sweden as well as a lot of straight millennials, it's seen for the satire that it is and that it's making fun of the insane conclusions some people leap to. Most people in my friend group know the lyrics and it's always played at least once, often several times, at parties I've been to and it makes everyone sing along lol - A lesbian from Sweden :)
Ya' - this is funny as hell - and also my gay friends agree, as they understand the obious satire. Cool that you get the Swedish humour - that far from everyone understands/ appreciates. It often relies on statire, and also a great portion of "self irony", making jokes on the expense of oneself, rather than someone else (well, not sure about this particular case, though ;-)) ) - that many missenterpret as some kind of "collective expression of national low self esteem", but it's actually quite the contrary...
If you dare. Check runka bulle by grotesco. Just as catchy but the lyrics are chocking😂 allso one making fun of religion. Disclaimer. The lyrics are very insulting😅 and yes there is english subtitles.
If you haven't seen it, you should watch "Knäckebrödsdansen" or the Hard bread dance that was in a Swedish Talent show. Just so you know. The Swedish songs they are dancing to are "Where's the soap?" in the beginning and in the end its a kids song going "Oh, oh how nice it is to be naked shake your trunk and wiggle your butt" Lol That MIGHT give you an idea of what the dance looks like, otherwise its here: ruclips.net/video/mwXK4rN--1U/видео.html
As a Swede, I know this skit well, and I agree that it's good (as is almost everything that Grotesco has done). I am, however, curious about your accent. In the title you say that you're American (which I interpret as from the United States), but I hear a bit of Igbo in your accent. Is this correct? Please understand that I don't have any racist stake in this! I am only interested in languages (I'm not ONLY interested in languages, there are other things, but I think you understand what I mean). In short, what language decorates your English?
sorry but i just have to say. oh my god you're so beautiful, I wish I was as beautiful as you, but well someone has to be ugly too, if no one is ugly, then you can't know what a beautiful person is. yes of course I'm right! God, you really are such an incredibly beautiful woman. 😊
Apparently, this song is very popular in the gay community here in Sweden.
It’s because it’s makes fun of the homofobes
And, it is FUNNY!
Det är bögarnas fel!
Love it

Most swedes know this song, and it became the unofficial “pride parade anthem” for a few years. And it is awfully catchy.

Such a clever song satirically aimed at the fundamentalists (Christians) who do not understand that the cape is aimed at them
And jews, and muslims, and everybody else.
Definitely mainly aimed at Muslim fundamentalists - Christian gays are not killed by their own people, but Muslim ones are. Right?

We like to think that, but in reality our humour is not even close to the British. They are much more sophisticated

Sadly the live version that they made on "allsång på skansen" was scrubbed from the internet by the butthurt people that complained. It was so good.
How can swedish humor be funny when the whole nation doesnt want to "offend" anyone.

I second that. I know the Brits tend to love it, don't know about Americans 🤣
That is the way most religius people try to blame others.
From Swedish State Television, and as such it says at the end "godkänd av staten", or in english "approved by the state".
If anyone actually gets offended and takes this seriously they must be extremly daft lmao
Is because I know Swedish and the fact I know is satire
Noone probably did, since this is such an obviuos satire.

Yikes.
It's satire here in Sweden, it's played at the pride parades!
This show is a little hit and miss, sometimes its good but very often just very over the top trying to be edgy
The translation was kinda crap tho. Otherwise it's funny
