Used mine today. I wouldn't have been able to clear the driveway with a shovel. Took about 20 minutes with the snowcaster at a slow pace. It's great for most snow, but last year we had a layer of ice under a layer of wet snow and it wouldn't budge. 90% of the time it works, but we had to hire someone for that.
Also, at the 5 minute mark, he's really trying to burn time and not really trying to get the job done fast. like he was using the snowcaster. Then the camera guy mentions how the guy has to bend over so much to use a shovel. I got news for ya, he DOES NOT have to bend over like that to push a inch or two off the sidewalk. You can clearly see he's bending over on purpose. His left hand does not need to be over half way down the handle to push the snow out of the way.
I seldom use a snow shovel except in very small areas, I use the push scoop. Live in Maine we can have high snow drifts. I'm lucky to live near a drop off so scoop snow right into the hole, and before long the hole is filled to level, than I put down plywood to walk on over the snow filled hole, and keep scooping snow into the ditch, making my way up the road, filling in the valley, putting down plywood as I go to walk on. . I can also get to the apple tree limbs and can prune them, the snow level becomes so high.. I would otherwise have to use a stepladder to get the job done in the spring. I love the scoop, mine is without wheels.
How is this different than regular snow shovels when it comes to safety? Like, you know how people have heart attacks when shovelling snow? Is this easier on the body/heart?
We've never had a doctor measure heart rate based on different shovels versus pushers so we don't have documented facts. However, if you look at many of the Amazon.com ratings, there are many customers that share that this is faster and easier on their back and body!
I have only a little over 60% lung capacity as of about two months ago. I was able to do the entire driveway without passing out. I just had to slow down. Bending over makes it almost impossible to get a good lung full of air. I don't have that problem with the snowcaster. I can remain upright and just walk. I let the kids use the shovels.
Better, cheaper and faster then a two stage snow blower. Driveways take the same speed as a full size pickup truck with a plow attachment. Environmental safe for the world.
I see guys using them all the time in S.Dak. It's funny how they get to the end of sidewalk and with a flick of the wrist, they angle it the other way and do the other side of the sidewalk. Of course, the snow was less than six inches. But it usually is.
Right now, our snow is terrible - the worst since 1985! I don't know how I'm going to get out of my neighborhood tomorrow. I have an appointment out of town!
Can the blade be used at an angle so it shoots the snow to the side ? That way you wouldn't be pushing it straight ahead, it would go to the side instead.
No but you can find it on Amazon US or Amazon Canada. Plus it is on the company website at www.thesnowcaster.com. We're excited about offering the product line in True Value Hardware Stores next season!
Thanks for taking time to share your suggestion. The Snowcaster team are capturing these types of comments this season and hope to make some of the suggested tweaks. Maybe next snow season there will be a Snowcaster 2.0. Stay safe as you shovel snow in your area.
The snowcaster is nice. One thing I noticed. At 4 minutes, you say the "other" shovel can't do the walk as fast. If the guy shoveling angled the shovel a few inches, he'd be moving the snow the same as the snowcaster. Also, compare apples to apples here, not apples to oranges. Put the snowcaster up against the 36" Snow Plow shovel and see them do just as good.
wow a lot of silly comments, I use a angle shovel on my drive, this looks good too. It has it's purpose. Not for heavy or snow over 4". Saves getting that motorized gas burning noisy thing out and is easy on the back. Make sense to me.
End of 2019 here.. Still wondering why I can't find a snowcaster in the local Home Depot. Could it be that it just isn't a practical product for heavy snow or heavy use?
Unfortunately it's difficult to get a product into the Home Depot product line. If you have a connection, please share it! We'd be stoked to be in Home Depot. We recently were selected to be part of the True Value product line. So if you have True Value in your neighborhood, give your retailer a shout.
In most cases this is all we need... Simple and Fast operating, as compared to any noisy gas guzzling powered snow brush or air blower snow remover. This is Human Powered and environmentally friendly, no Carbon Footprint. Back to basic the way it should be... In and out, job done! : ) Eliminate the Jerry Can of gas and other maintenance or expansive breakdown costs and repairs on gas powered equipment. : (
Will never buy another snowcaster product again ! When we went to move the snow this year we noticed that the coverage had decreased and we left behind a sheen of snow on the left and right. Looks like the blade is warped We bought the 48" snowcaster for $154.66 cdn last year so the one year warranty was just up. Snowcaster suggested we buy a new blade on Amazon.com But all I found was a 36" blade for $50 US No 48" blade or shovel. And nothing on the Canadian site. So I bought a 36" Yardworks Rink Shovel from Canadian Tire for $44.99 Cdn and it comes with a 4 year warranty ! And I deal with my local Canadian Tire store. Used it for the first time today and far superior to the Snowcaster. Will never buy another snowcaster product again !
We are saddened that you had a bad experience with our product. Unfortunately, we have had some concerns with our Amazon Canada service recently that involved difficult shipping processes, improper product catalog ASINs and costs plus inability to find a real person to talk to! Currently we are trying to find local distributors for our product line in Canada instead of having inventory sit in an Amazon Canada warehouse for who knows how long. Stay safe and healthy during this crazy pandemic.
@@thesnowcaster You missed the point. I called Snowcaster days after our warranty expired and Snowcaster did nothing. Just told me to buy a replacement blade at FULL LIST ! The issue is Snowcaster extremely poor customer service and suspect product quality. If need be we have a US address we can use.
That’s like saying you would rather dig a basement with a excavator then a hand shovel lol. For the price these are a excellent product. We use them to clear walking paths to keep our employees safe. Bang for the buck they can’t be beat.
this looks like a shovel for people that think 2 inches of snow is a lot..up in Syracuse NY we just had 8 inches, i doubt that this piece of junk can handle that...
It just takes a little gumption to shovel every several hours (while your neighbors laugh at you) during the storm. Then you can just smile after the storm while your neighbors do it the hard way.
The snowcaster is only quicker because it is wider than the typical shovel in this video... Hell if I get a typical shovel with a 60 inch blade on it will be faster than the snowcaster... And why is the guy in this video humped over pushing the traditional shovel so much LOL ... not saying that this snowcaster isn't a good design with the wheels they should make it so the blade angles
@@gregpavitt309 Wow, thanks for the feedback. We want to hear about our customers' ideas. Do you mean more angle in the blade? What do you think should be adjustable?
At 6 minutes, you claim he doesn't have to lean over. Duh.... oh, and how much faster he's getting the other half done. I guess he will get the other half done faster if he's practically running.
when you go fast with a shovel, you catch the cracks and get hurt or break the shovel or make a mess. the snowcaster wheels eliminate some of that and the angle skips over the cracks a lot better.
i think the Dakota SnoPusher invented them and the SnoCaster is a cheaper copy. Everything is heavy duty on the Dakota brand. The SnoCaster is a "little" flimsier.
wrong. this does your sidewalks in a couple minutes and can be used quickly every morning if needed and you don't have to mess with your snowblower. this thing's ALWAYS read to go!

These things make shoveling snow fun again!
Seriously? Snow shoveling is fun. There's no better compliment than that!
I made one like that but without the wheels on it. It works very well for sidewalks and driveway.
I tried this today, works amazing with n overall of 7 inch snowfall.
it works even better if you use it a few times during the snowfall. 7 inches is a little over its capacity.
Really? Wow!
Don't forget to follow us on Facebook! Thanks for the great reviews and comments.

By the way, another advantage of the angled blade is that it is less likely to catch on seams in the pavement.
That's good. Wow

Thats Cute and all but im guessing it wont hold up to a North Dakota winter

Jennifer W 4x4, beefy tires, snow chains, reschedule?
Well i wouldn’t use any manual shovel in heavy snow
Can the blade be used at an angle so it shoots the snow to the side ? That way you wouldn't be pushing it straight ahead, it would go to the side instead.
Yes it can these are amazing I use this a lot because its my job to shovel n they save time n more importantly your back

the wheels could be bigger also you could put an angle on the blade and when your pushing the snow start in the middle of the walks first

It's going to be good for about 3 inches at most probably

Sold! 💴
Thanks for watching and we are glad you've decided to purchase our products.!
Save time and physical pain with either of these shovels. Just be sure to pay them adequately!
I am from Toronto. Where can I get 48inches shovel 80-SNC?
How many inches can this cut through?
it looks like it works best for under 6 inches. but if you get more than that, you need a snow blower to blow it further anyway.

best snow pusher ever.
and their shovels look pretty good too.
simple and effective. great. thanks.

where is snow?
where it's cold & precipitation falls from the sky.

Jeez you could have just used a push broom on that 1" of snow.
this is one fk of a lot faster than a push broom!
Nice 😺
Fine!
and, why not use a snow blower?
Good question. We've heard that some people don't want to start up the snowblower at times. Let's ask the audience...what do you think?
I’d rather drive my Ventrac 4500 series & clear the sidewalks in 1 pass.
