This is by far the most thorough and clearest Loomis method tutorial i have ever come across on youtube. Not only you give precise measurements and concise explanations, you walked us through the whole process delightfully. i'd recommand your tutorial to anyone (like me) who didn't have the patience to read the whole book. You pretty much packed the whole method in a 30min video. VERY impressive! Instant Sub!
SERIOUSLY - I bought the books.Took notes. Highligted. Tried scoping the method out on every magazine page. NOTHING made sense and put it more into context than this. Thank you for your work and creating from something that is so complicated, a simple explanation that will provide so much joy to so many.
These videos are the most helpful I have seen on the internet. I am going through the exercises from the Andrew Loomis book but these videos make it so much easier to understand the planes. A very good teacher!
this was very easy to follow. lots of detailed direction, slow movements and lingering shots of each section and stroke, allowing me to carefully take my time following along each step with you. did not feel like I had to keep catching up or ask myself how you got from one point to another so quick because you took it nice and slow! thanks so much. this was a great video and I also love your speaking voice. :)
oh my goodness, this really works! Thanks for the tutorial. I had been trying to detailing the Loomis method with a crappy result so far. Like, share and bell.
Fantastic. I am a beginner and I have been searching for videos to draw using digital tools instead of conventional pencil. I would love to more videos on brushes, opacity, flow, blending, erasing. Your teaching is one of the best I have found!!!
I was so discouraged when I started drawing with the tablet. I noticed the tablet exposes how fuzzy my lines are, but what you said is helping me realize I should just relax.
I had been using Proko's tutorial for this originally. Rewatching it, I did see some inconsistencies, and it led to me drawing the loomis head a bit off. Watching this video gave me a little more clarification. Thank you.
Great tutorial and I have watched a lot of them. I always wondered how you could learn to draw the planes of the head other that just copying hundreds of them. This way you learn Loomis and planes thanks.
Dear lady, i am so glad to follow you this is the most helpful video l , you are a great teacher the way you explain it make it so easy to me to understand i was struggled to make some progress i try the lomens book i couldn't understand it , all my regards to you , i wish if you could explain more about human body .thanks
Your video was very helpful. Thank you for your work on it. I started getting lost when you eliminated some lines and shading in order to make what you were doing easier to see. I think it would be easier for me however if your drawing kept all the lines so I could use them as a reference to my own. Several times I made the wrong guesses and had to back up, but when I did, of course the newer lines weren't yet there. Nevertheless, thanks to you I did end up with a decently proportioned face. Thank you again.
Oh my god, that is very inspiring and helpful for drawing. Really love the content of this channel. Can't wait for more videos like that. Cheers to the guys behind all this.
Hi Darlene...U r the best teacher on RUclips whom I follow so far....I have a query regarding kids sketch... Whenever I draw a face above 3yrs they look older than they actually are... However measurements r exactly the same...y so?I asked this many artists but nobody answered
good video. I have a question about the side circle. How do I know if the circle should be on all the side of the head (when the head is tilted) or just part of it? Sometimes I see people drawing and not using all the space for the side circle to the end of the head.
Hi Darlene, thank you for a great tutorial. I grew up drawing from any where to every where that i can find space. I could copy a photo 95% to 99.99% exactly but for years I have not touch a pencil to draw anything. I never had a formal education in art. I recently designed to come back that when i realized, i am way too rusty. I am still working on it but I also found new tools (digital art) and I would love to get into. This tutorial really cool and really a motivational tool for me. Thank you so much for sharing. Also I would like to ask. I am using 8th generation iPad tablet and Pencil A2 with Adobe Photoshop... I am currently having issue with the line. When I draw I do not see the line like you have in your tutorial until I pick up my pen off the surface then the line appears. This does not happen with Adobe Illustrator or ProCreate. I tried to google every where but no answer that help. Would you know why? I figured you must have so many viewer asking you this kind of questions and perhaps someone knows the answer. Thank you kindly and keep up the great work. Looking forward to more of your tutorial. Bests
hii, i tried this, but i always draw female characters so it turned out like a male/female mix. I already made the nose, eyes and eyebrows a little different. So how do i make it look more like a women?
