How in the hell is this even possible?! Does Texas not have any building codes or inspections required when constructing? What about the EPA?!? There’s nothing wrong with people immigrating here legally, it’s the fact that so many people have been able to cut in line and aren’t being held to the same standard as people who are here legally! We are fucked as a nation…

Nope, we in the Houston area know all about this area. There has been lots of scrutiny over this community, and the company that advertises the property. Their billboards are all in Spanish, there are trailers, houses, and a few mini mansions……absolutely no zoning. I caught a migrant family stealing from my neighborhood store a few weeks ago. Two carts full and when they opened the trunk to their car, they had a bunch of trash bags to put the stuff in. I told them, “do you think it’s okay to teach your kids how to steal?” She said no English. And shoved the stuff in the car and dipped. The massive pocket of illegal immigrants in the backyard of America’s fourth largest city has somehow avoided serious scrutiny, and critics point the finger at some Texas lawmakers who have made a career out of calling for a strong border.
“There are some serious allegations that Republican politicians are involved in the development,” Chris Russo, the President of Texans for Strong Borders, told The Daily Wire, citing “massive political donations that’ve been made by the developers.”
Russo pointed to Texas’ Republican governor, Greg Abbott, who has taken $1.4 million in political contributions from Trey Harris, according to campaign records. Harris’ wife, Celeste Harris, also donated $100,000 to Abbott’s campaign in 2018, records show. Her occupation is listed as “Colony Ridge Development.”

Ive lived within 20 minutes of this place for the last 12 years and DID NOT know it existed. Last year my wife and I found 5 acres of land at a decent price on HAR and decided to jump on the motorcycle and head over there to go have a look. We crossed 99, drove about a mile and ended up in a completely different fucking country. After the 5th taco stand in 2 blocks time I thought hhhmm thats odd. Its little Mexico over here. Then i noticed houses half burned and abandoned, trailers ripped in half, trash everywhere, overall it just felt like we had landed in the most run down area of Mexico, when just minutes before we were in our own community near Humble. We made our way to the address where the land was, though we already knew it was a waste of time. Once we turned onto a "neighborhood" road, the feral dogs were everywhere and we got chased on the motorcycle by a pack of them, and let me tell you it was not fun. I couldnt just speed away because there were speed bumps in the roads there. My wife was screaming and kicking them. They were viciously snapping at us as i swerved and honked my horn. Soon as the speed bumps cleared we got the hell out of there.
This is not a normal community of people. This area is not normal. There is very obviously something else going on here. Im told cartel are very active in the area. That police dont bother going in there. That its basically the wild west and these people basically just live and do whatever they want. Laws optional.

Poor areas are nothing out of the ordinary, just look at parts of Appalachia. However, the issue is that a majority of these people are undocumented. Which means living here illegally, working without a permit, probably with forged Social Security cards or they work under the table for cash and in that case pay no taxes. They will never become citizens. No health insurance, no bank accounts (although it is not impossible to get one), no access to credit, no workplace protections, very little English skills. Now, if the numbers of these people are relatively low, the impact is limited, however we are talking about many millions and growing every single day as these new asylum seekers have a slim chance of ever getting granted asylum status, but are sure to not let themselves be deported.

Easy answer for healthcare. I see it nonstop at work. At least in Ohio it’s Medicaid. And if you are a new arrival, you have enough money given to you by the govt to pay for an eye exam with cash and not even blink an eye. Yet American citizens with no insurance will wear the same glasses for 10 years because they can’t afford an exam. When you live paycheck to paycheck it’s not an option.

Our ancestors built America and I'm including everyone that migrated here legally like my grandparents that migrated here from hungry and had to assimilate to America's culture as it should be but politically correct America has allowed everyone to bring their culture's with them instead of requiring them to totally follow ours or don't come. It does not work. My grandparents had to learn English which they did along with my grandpa finding a good job and they became Catholic. They became Americans and loved this country.

I'm told by people who know, that there's also an EPA investigation underway in the Colony Ridge subdivisions and it may well be huge since Colony Ridge has been in clear violation of the Liberty County Rules for New Subdivision Development for the past decade at least and Liberty County officials have refused to enforce their rules exclusively where Colony Ridge is concerned... something reeks about that!

At the same time, you can see all the problems arising without any kind of organized planning. I particularly hate seeing all those trees cut down. A lot of those woods act as water absorbers, clean the air, etc. leads to problems you mentioned, like flooding and contaminated water. Still, it's going to be interesting to see how that community develops down the road. Maybe in a few years you can go back and shoot another video.
